Génius, putto, Diana Jupiter ApollonDas Palais in der Wallnerstraße wurde von 1809 bis 1813 im Auftrag des Grafen Johann Pálffy von Erdöd errichtet. Das Werk Charles de Moreaus ist eines der wenigen Beispiele der französischen Palastarchitektur des Klassizismus in Wien. Im Burgenland hatte der Architekt die Gartenfront des Schlosses Eisenstadt ebenfalls klassizistisch umgestaltet, damit übte er eine nachhaltige Wirkung auf die heimische Baukultur aus.Bei der Außenerscheinung dominiert die Betonung der strengen, klaren Form anstelle der sonst üblichen prunkvollen Ausschmückung der Fassade. Auf eine vertikale Gliederung wurde völlig verzichtet, horizontal erfolgt sie durch zwei Gesimse. Rytina: Rudolf II. v císařském oděvu (koruna, jablko, žezlo, řád zlatého rouna, zář okolo hlavy) jede na voze taženém dvěma orly a lvem na nebesa. Na oblacích na něj čekají olympská božstva, v popředí nalevo Herkules (lví kůže, kyj) uprostřed Diana (měsíční srpek, luk), napravo Jupiter (blesky, orel). Za Jupiterem je Juno (koruna), nalevo je Saturn (kosa) a Neptun (trojzubec). Dole vlevo je pohled na Prahu (Pražský hrad a Malá Strana)., Prag um 1600#, II, č. 679 s. 200., and Rudolf II. je zobrazen se září okolo hlavy, která jej ztotožňuje s Apollónem. Pod výjevem je báseň dvorního básníka Wackera von Wackenfels, která výjev vysvětluje: smrt Rudolfa II. ohlásilo úmrtí dvou orlů a lva v císařském zvěřinci, zvířata jsou nejen znaky císařství (dva orli) a českého království (lev), ale lev je také znak Herkula a orel Jupitera. S Herkulem se habsburští císaři identifikovali již od Maxmiliána II. a v Praze se tato sebestylizace projevila v monumentální formě poprvé v sochařské výzdobě Belvedéru Ferdinanda I. (1537-1550), kde jsou herkulovské výjevy na čestných místech na nárožích stavby. Na augustovském reliéfu se zobrazením apoteózy, který byl od konce 16. století až do 18. století byl ve Villa Madama je zobrazen Julius Caesar jedoucí na voze s okřídleným koňským spřežením na nebesa, kde na něj na oblaku čeká personifikace nebes a Hélios na slunečním voze, nad Caesarem je orel s rozpjatými křídly. Vedle Caesarova spřežení jsou postavy, které vzrušeně gestikulují - propojení lidského a nadpozemského světa najdeme také na rytině s apoteózou Rudolfa II, kde také realisticky zobrazená veduta Prahy kontrastuje s olymskými božstvy na oblacích nahoře. Grafika existuje ve třech exemlářích, na dvou je vpravo dole monogram IMW (nebo IMWF), na výtisku v Coburgu je místo něj nápis "Thobias Bidenhartter scalps et excutit in Winn" (cf. Irmscher 1999, s. 136 pozn. 233).
Olejová malba na alabastru (37 x 45 cm): zleva přijíždí na voze taženém labutěmi Amor (luk, toulec), nad ním letí putto s vavřínovým věncem. Před labutěmi jede na panterovi putto s pochodní na vysoké tyči, okolo labutí putti s triumfálními standartami: kopí s nabodnutým srdcem, lukem a šípem, srdcem probodeným šípem, srdcem s křídly a srdcem. Nad standartami dvě holubice. Za Amorem jede na kozlu Bakchus (pohár, konvice), vedle Bakcha na pravé straně jde nahá Venuše (srdce s plamenem, šíp), na levé straně je Bohatství s rohem hojnosti. V pravém dolním rohu bůh řeky (kormidlo, nádoba s vodou), objímá Nymfu. Nalevo nahoře kruhový chrámek. V levém dolním rohu Faunka, před ní nahá Nymfa s rukou zdviženou k průvodu. Na oblacích nahoře shromáždění bohů, uprostřed polonahý Apollón (lyra) na trůně, nalevo nahý Merkur (okřídlená čapka, plášť na ramenou, caduceus), nalevo oblečená Diana (měsíční srpek). Okolo bohů putti s kyticemi květů., Kaufmann 1988#, I/17., Jacoby 2000#, str. 143-145, č. 40, 41.Jacoby 2000#, str. 143-145, č. 40, 41., Fusenig 2010#, č. 66, s. 198-199., and Alabastrová destička byla původně patrně umístěna v otáčivém rámu, protože měla na druhé straně výjev s Faëthontem (Wien, KM, Faëthontův pád) a tvořila dvojici s destičkou z Rudolfovy sbírky, která byla rovněž oboustranná (Wien, KM, Triumf Amora a Bakcha; Wien, KM, Zkáza Aeneovy flotily). Jacoby alabastrové destičky z Rudolfovy sbírky interpretuje jako alegorie živlů: oheň (Faëthontův pád), země (Triumf Amora a Bakcha), vzduch (Zkáza Aeneovy flotily) a voda (Osvobození Andromedy).
Kresba (37, 2 x 46, 4 cm): na oblaku sedí Jupiter (orel) a Minerva (přilba, kopí, štít) v důvěrném hovoru. Dole v krajině božstva: nalevo sedící Diana (srpek, toulec), naproti ní sedící Apollón (lyra). Nad Apollónem nahá Venuše, kterou přikrývá Amor a vzhlíží přitom nahoru k Jupiterovi. Vedle Venuše Neptun (trojzubec), na protější straně Merkur (křídlená čapka) a ženské božstvo. Uprostřed v pozadí nalevo Herkules (kyj, lví kůže) a na zemi sedící Pluto s Kerberem. Nalevo v horním rohu ruina antické stavby s ženkou sochou v nice., Prag um 1600#, I, č. 177., and Přípravná kresba k obrazu (London, National Gallery inv. n. 6475). Výjev je interpretován jako zrození Minervy, ale ve Stuttgartu (Landesbibliothek, Cod. hist. Q. 298/299, Stammbuch Janisch fol. 142r) je obdobná kresba od stejného autora s nápisem: "Diese Figur wie Jupiter die Veniren veralsst und Minervam liebet mit verwunderung aller anderen heydnischen Götter is mir von Johan von Ach Kay. Mahler zu ehren gamacht worde." Z nápisu jednoznačně vyplývá, že se jedná o alegorické zobrazení v němž jde o konflikt mezi Venuší a Minervou (Prag um 1600, I, s. 329).
Reliéf ze zlaceného stříbra na spodku těla konvice, shromáždění olympských bohů s palmovými listy (při uchu konvice směřujícím doprava, proti směru hodinových ručiček): Jupiter (koruna, blesk) na orlu, u jeho nohou dvě nádoby, Neptun (trojzubec), Pán (rohy, syrinx), Kybele (koruna z hradeb), Pluto (dvojzubec), tři Grácie, Mars (zbroj), nahá Venuše, Amor (toulec, šíp, páska na čele), Merkur (okřídlená čapka, caduceus) nese nahou Psýché, Bakchus (věnec z vinné révy, číše), Herkules (lví kůže, palmová ratolest), Saturn (nahý, polyká dítě), Diana (měsíční srpek), Apollón (záře okolo hlavy, lyra), Vulkán (čepice, kladivo) a neidentifikované božstvo., Irmscher 1999#, 212-226., and Shromáždění bohů evokuje svatbu Amora a Psýché. Postavy olympských božstev se vztahují k triumfům nad nimi: Jupiter je pod Triumfem Cudnosti, tři Grácie pod Triumfem Smrti, Merkur a Psýché pod Triumfem Slávy. Herkules, Saturn a Apollón, božstva související bezprostředně s Rudolfem II. a jeho obnovou Zlatého věku, jsou pod Triumfem Času. Předlohou pro Jupitera byl Jupiter z rytiny Herkules na rozcestí (Johann I Sadeler, návrh Friedrich Sustris), dvě nádoby u Jupiterových nohou jsou nádoby s dobrým a špatným osudem, o nichž se zmiňuje Homér (Ilias 24, 527-528). V rámci vladařské ideologie se téma objevuje na fresce Rossa Fiorentina ve Fontainebleau, kde do Jupiterova chrámu vstupuje František I. s mečem a knihou v ruce. Po straně vchodu jsou velké dádoby s dobrem a zlem. Do chrámu nemají přístup personifikace sedmi smrtelných hříchů s páskami na očích. K rozšíření Rossovy malby přispěla rytina z téhož roku (nápis "OSTIUM IOVIS" nad vchodem, na váze nalevo "MALI", napravo "BONI". Vzorem pro tři Grácie byla známá rytina Marcantonia Raimondiho ze začátku 16. století, jejich význam souvisel patrně s Ficinovým novoplatónským výkladem, současně byly pravděpodobně symbolem svornosti, což bylo v habsburské říši aktuální politické téma. Vzorem pro skupinu Merkura a Psýché byla rytina ze školy Marcantonia Raimondi. Merkur unášející Psyche na nebesa v kontextu Trionfi-lavabo odkazuje na poslední stupeň novoplatónské pouti k bohu, remeatio. Psyché symbolizuje lidskou duši, která dosahuje nesmrtelnosti láskou k věčné kráse, kterou představuje dcera Amora a Psyché, Voluptas.
