Všechny tři postavy se drží za ruce. Za Herklulem je nalevo v pozadí vidět skupina lidí holdující jídlu a lásce (muž se zdviženým pohárem, muž pijící z číše, objímající se dvojice). Herkulovu volbu naznačuje Amor s caduceem, který letí nad Herkulem a ukazuje na vrchol hory napravo, kde stojí chrám Ctnosti, k němuž se šplhají lidské postavy. V Knihovně připisované Apollodórovi (2, 113-114) je Herkulův slavný čin umístěn na sever, a proto není vyloučeno, že socha Herkula byla právě proto umístěna na severní stranu kolonády.
Nástěnná malba: nad hlavním vchodem do rotundy je zobrazena krajině s Herkulem a Nessem. Na břehu řeky Herkules střílí z luku na kentaura Nessa unášejícího Déianeiru.
