In her essay, the author deals with the traditional position of woman in Jewish society. Although woman’s life role may seem very restricted and insignificant, according to the tradition, Jewish woman is considered to be the pillar of the family and the key element in passing on the Jewish tradition to future generations. Women’s participation in religious life is limited, yet their main attention is almost exclusively directed towards family and child raising. their absence from religious rituals is perceived as a positive element which enables women to fully concentrate on their most important role of a mother. Jewish families are traditionally large. Among Jewish woman’s main tasks is the observance of family purification rules, preparation of kosher food, arrangements for family celebrations of Sabbath and festivals and child raising. Attention is also paid to the basic principles of matrimonial cohabitation, to the educational opportunities of Jewish women in the past, their charitable and associational activities and the most frequent ways of earning their living.
The responses of rates of net photosynthesis (F^) to photosynthetic photon fluence rate (i), leaf temperature and CO2 were studied inhalf-sib families of greenhouse and field grown black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) seedlings. The response of to 1 was similar in both greenhouse and field grown seedlings, except the quantum yields were lower in the field grown seedlings. The saturáting / was as low as 600 pmol m'^ s'’ in some seedlings but did not saturate at 1900 púiol m'^ s'^ in others. The optimum temperature for in field grown seedlings was shghtly lower than the greenhouse grown seedlings. increased rapidly with increased CO2 up to 350 pmol mol'^ but beyond SOO pmol mol'* the increase was gradual in some families. On average, stomata represented only 23 % of the limitation to Pii with no differences between families observed. Family x I, family x temperature and family X CO2 were not significant for Pj^.
Chloroplast proteins of the Alb3/YidC/Oxa1p family are necessary for assembly of photosynthetic complexes in the thylakoid membranes. Alb3p in Arabidopsis thaliana is essential for posttranslational LHCII-integration into thylakoid membranes and participates in cotranslational assembly of D1. However, the pleiotropic defects of an Alb3p mutant, albino3, suggest additional functions for Alb3p. To obtain an impression of such potential further Alb3p activities from phenotypic manifestations, properties of mutants disturbed in thylakoid membrane protein transport or carotenoid biosynthesis were compared with the albino3 mutant. Specific defects observed in albino3 were similar to those in a carotenoid synthesis mutant. While this correlation did not provide tangible evidence for Alb3p being involved in the integration of carotenoids in photosynthetic complexes, it suggests a possible avenue for future investigations., M. Monitoring of groundwater quality in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh, India, was performed at 10 different sites during the years 2005-2006. Obtained quality parameters were treated using principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis (CA). The study shows usefulness of multivariate statistical techniques for evaluation and interpretation of groundwater quality data sets. and V letech 2005-2006 byla na deseti odběrných místech v regionu Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Indie sledována kvalita podzemní vody. Zjištěné kvalitativní parametry byly zpracovány pomocí analýzy hlavního prvku (PCA) a pomocí shlukové analýzy (CA). Studie dokládá vhodnost multivariačních statistických metod pro vyhodnocení a interpretaci změřených výsledků.
