Učená společnost České republiky ČR sdružující význačné vědce všech vědních oborů zasedala ve dnech 23. až 24. května 2016 v pražském Karolinu a sídle Akademie věd na Národní třídě. První den veřejné části jednání, jehož se zúčastnily význačné osobnosti badatelské i politické sféry, patřil tradičnímu ceremoniálu - předání medailí, cen a čestných uznání. Medaile Učené společnosti za zásluhy o rozvoj vědy převzali prof. Ivan Lefkovits a prof. František Vyskočil., Two eminent professorw were awarded the Medal of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic at the General Assembly of the Learned Society held on May 23-24, 2016. World-famous neurologist František Vyskočil and world-renowned immunologist Ivan Lefkovits were honored for their meritorious contributions to the advancement of sciences. Junior Scientist Awards were bestowed on Dr. Martin Ferus and Dr. Michal Malinský, awards were also granted to teachers and high school students., and Luděk Svoboda.
The paper is concerned with a small group of anonymous treatises, located together in the Ms. 524 of the Corpus Christi College Library in Cambridge on fol. 112r to 131v. How these treatises are connected together through their common structure and subject matter and how they create one consistent group is examined. Particular attention is paid to the brief treatise Effectus adventus Domini (On the Effects of the Entry of the Lord <into the Soul>), which is remarkable for its elaborate structure and colourful narrative of the individual effects. The treatise is compared with similar texts as well and an edition of the treatise is provided at the end of the paper. and Jan Odstrčilík.
This year's Science and Technology Week, organized for the public by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, took place November 1-15 in Prague, Brno, České Budějovice, Olomouc, Ostrava and other places. Science and Technology Week is one of the largest science communication efforts in the Czech Republic, presenting the latest scientific achievements and results of current research to an increasing number of Czech citizens. Scientists from research workplaces of the ASCR presented a cross section of lectures, presentations, panel discussions, seminars, excursions, exhibitions and discussion evenings. This gave attendees insights into their research projects, scientific apparatuses and an outline on the latest trends in the areas of science in the Czech Republic and the world. The festival has a main theme each year. This year theme was the Science Energy. and Luděk Svoboda.
