- Description:
- The number of copies of Wyclif's Latin works that derive from Bohemia and are mostly preserved now in Prague and Vienna is familiar ground. The evidence for the scrutiny of those works is less frequently mentioned: very extensive indexes were provided in Bohemia for many of the longer works, together with a catalogue of 115 items by Wyclif, listing titles, incipits and explicits and the number of books and chapters for each. Even more remarkable are the copies of the writings of some of Wyclif's English followers, though some of these followers were in correspondence with Bohemian fellows, some of the texts narrate entirely English affairs that would seem of little interest so far away. The paper surveys these manuscripts and notes the questions that they raise. and Anne Hudson.

- Description:
- The paper is devoted to the gradual fictionalisation of historical text, which is observed in Manuscript B of the Old Bohemian Annals. The fictionalisation is related to the gradual transformation of annalistic records in the medieval chronicle. This transformation is connected inter alia with a chaneg of the function of the text, when an entertainment function was added to the original informative, didactic and possibly also agitating functions. In the text investigated, fictionalisation lies in compositional and topical alterations, in the individualisation of the text and particularly in the stylisation of the text, influenced by fictionalisation elements. and Alena M. - Description:
- This article focuses on the interaction between Russian princes and nomadic Cumans (Qipčaqs, Polovcians). The starting point of the work are names and family ties of individual Cumans captured in the oldest Russian chronicles which represent "minimum quanta" of the historical information. These "Russian" names are the most important indicator of the cross-dynastic interaction, contacts between Russia and the nomadic world. In our paper we have sought to demonstrate that the cause of the appearance of Russian names in this environment is a cross-dynastic, intergenic anthroponymic communication, a desire to consolidate the alliance with the Russian princes, but not a conversion of the male representatives of the Cuman elite. The set of "Russian" names used by Cumans allows us to determine the circle of their "anthroponymical donors" among the Rurikids and identify a number of rules and laws on which this communication in the language of names was carried out., Anna Litvina, Fjodor Uspenskij; překlad Jitka Komendová., and Obsahuje poznámky pod čarou
