The origins of this partial source research are linked to the preparation of Dvofiák’s works for piano for publishing in the frame of the Nové souborné vydání dûl Antonína Dvofiáka (The New Dvofiák Edition, NDE). This article considers the available sources and the history of origin and publication of Dvofiák’s two piano pieces, Dumka op. 12,1 and Furiant op. 12,2. It adds new information to the previous research, and intreprets the existing sources in a new way
The study instroduces the politician and diplomat Antonín Kalina in the context of activities of the Czech Constitutional Progressive Party, which Kalina represented as a deputy at the Reichsrat since 1908.
