The international conference was held in Prague November 20-21,2009. The occasion was the 20th anniversary of the fall of communist regimes in Central and Eastern Europe and the end of the Cold War The Conference was organized by the Institute of Con temporary History of the ASCR in the cooperation with the Office of the Government of the CR and the Institute of International Studies of the Faculty of Social Science of the Charles University. Invited world known historians of contemporary history from eleven countries exchanged their opinions on issues concerning the role which the East-Central European countries played during the 45-year Cold War and to consider long-term consequences of this period which the international community is still poring over at the beginning of the 21th century. and Vít Smetana.
The Centre of Excellence Telč (a project of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the ASCR) was festively opened on October 9, 2012. The venture is being implemented with financial support from the European Union and the Czech Republic through the structural funds and the state budget. The CET project was intended primarily to contribute to the development of Czech and European science by building a European center of excellence. Stejnojmennou dvoudenní konferenci uspořádal Filosofický ústav AV ČR (FLÚ) ve dnech 7. a 8. února 2014 ve vile Lanna v pražské Bubenči - převzal tak štafetu od Ústavu informatiky AV ČR (ÚI), pod jehož taktovkou se v loňském roce konalo úspěšné sympozium obdobného zaměření a rozsahu. and Zuzana Haniková, Ondrej Majer.
V barokním zrcadlovém sále Clam-Gallasova paláce v Husově ulici na Starém Městě pražském se na konci listopadu 2013 uskutečnilo 13. setkání národnostních menšin a konference Praha jako místo soužití národnostních menšin. Sympozia, které s Etnologickým ústavem AV ČR spoluorganizovaly hlavní město Praha a Dům národnostních menšin, se zúčastnili mj. bývalý ministr zahraničí Karel Schwarzenberg a nový slovenský velvyslanec v Praze Peter Weiss. Součástí programu konference byl společenský večer, který zaštítil náměstek primátora hl. města Prahy Václav Novotný. and Jakub Štědroň, Andrej Sulitka.
The European Research Council (ERC), the first pan-European funding body set up to support investigator-driven frontier research, has been newly established to stimulate scientific excellence by supporting and encouraging the very best scientists, engineers and scholars. The ERC complements other funding activities in Europe such as those of national research funding agencies, and is a flagship component of the Ideas Programme of the European Union´s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
