Porovnáním více souborů na prostorové a časové úrovni jsme se pokusili lépe porozumět trendům v hospodaření se zvířaty a spotřebě jejich produktů v prostoru středověké Prahy. and Assemblages of animal bones and teeth dated to the 8th–14th century AD were collected during archaeological excavations at several Prague locations (Prague Castle, Lesser Town and Old Town). The acquired osteological material is waste resulting mainly from the butchering and consumption of meat. A detailed evaluation of this material with a focus on the taxonomic representation, the slaughter age and the sex of the animals provides more detailed information on both the composition of the diet and the quality of meat, but also the use of other animal products. By means of a comparison of multiple assemblages on the spatial and temporal level, we attempted to gain a better understanding of the trends in animal husbandry and the consumption of their products in medieval Prague.
Rozbor jejich obsahu dává možnost zpětně rekonstruovat vývoj církevní správy na Trutnovsku a s ní i objasnit počátky staré Úpy a založení Nového Trutnova. and The aim of the work is to demonstrate the inaccuracy of the explanation regarding the beginnings of Trutnov presented last year in Archeologické rozhledy. The dispute over the patronal right to the church in Old Trutnov between the king and the Zderaz monastery in 1358–1360 is the key to understanding the documents with which the monastery defended its rights. An analysis of the documents enables a reconstruction of the development of Church administration in the Trutnov region and helps clarify the beginnings of the town of Trutnov itself.
The article analyses Czech-Byzantine contacts in the 1160s. The author focuses on a reconstruction of the mainly diplomatic confrontation in Hungary, capped by a peaceful dynastic marriage. From the perspective of the history of everydayness, however, the most distinctive is the figure of the Moravian Boguta, "A Roman who knew Czech", mentioned in both basic sources. Those are the treatises of the canon of Prague Vincentius and an official in Constantinople John Kinnamos. The comparison presented of the two leads to a closer specification of the chronology of the Bohemian campaign of 1164. Kinnamos´s little known text in Czech historiography moreover offers an interesting view of the Byzantines on Bohemia and Vladislaus II. and Martin Šorm.
