The purpose of this study is to suggest a way of making phenomenology available for the study of social phenomena like authority, which the subject experiences in a public space. Phenomenology is ideally suited to the purpose – except for its inherent tendency to subjectivism. Neither Husserl’s solution – the transcendental ego – nor Heidegger’s solution – the entschlossene Dasein – will do. The problem remains insolvable as long as we regard the world as initially meaningless. It disappears when we set out with a vitalist conception of the world as intrinsically meaningful in virtue of the initial purposive orientation of life to fulfilment. Neither a transcendental ego, nor a determined Dasein, but life itself is the key to prereflective intelligibility, as in the work of French phenomenologists or in Jan Patočka’s a-subjective phenomenology., and Marek Hrubec.
Ve třetí části obecnou tezi deformované emancipace aplikuje na specifické vztahy péče a problém komodifikace péče, jejichž prostřednictvím ilustruje zablokování emancipace žen trhem charakterizovaným autoritářskými imperativy., The author develops a critical diagnosis of the changing interpretations of the concept of emancipation of women due to broader socio-economic transformations and the expansion of the market into most domains of social life. In the first part she briefly outlines the historical context in which the feminist emancipation claims were put into practice. Even though some of these claims were successfully integrated into the body of Euro-Atlantic cultural norms, the emancipation of women, in the sense of the elimination of oppression and subjection of women in all aspects of social life, not only in political but also in economic, social and cultural life, has not been accomplished. In the second part, the author argues that late-modernity set into motion a dynamic in which the concept of emancipation was distorted to such a degree that it became its own antithesis. The traditional authoritarianism, against which feminist conception of emancipation was defined, was in late-modern societies replaced by the power-economic structure of society in which the market serves as the authoritarian principle for the organisation of social life. On the basis of reflection on this dynamic the author proposes a socio-philosophical analysis of distorted emancipation. In the final part, the author specifies the abstract thesis of distorted emancipation using care relations and the issue of commodification of care as a way to exemplify anti-emancipatory forces within the market with its authoritarian imperatives., and Zuzana Uhde.
Nicméně i díky Doleželovu následnému bádání v oblasti fikčních a historických narativů se jedním ze současných použití této teorie stala její aplikace na otázky identity literatury a podstaty fikce a fikčnosti literárních děl., The theory of fictional worlds has developed, in the world context, since the 1970s and has, from its beginnings, been inspired by various logical and philosophical concepts. Today, in its fully established form, it offers concrete instruments and strategies suited to the solution of a wide range of literary-theoretical problems. The actual founding of the theory of fictional worlds is linked with the name of Lubomír Doležel, who later enriched its development with the key distinction between the extensional and intensional structures of fictional worlds. This distinction has enhanced the future instrumental potential of the whole theory. Nevertheless, due also to Doležel’s subsequent research in the area of fictional and historical narratives, one contemporary use of this theory has become its application to the questions of the identity of literature and the basis of fiction and the fictionality of literary works., and Bohumil Fořt.
Domnívám se, že tuto situaci je třeba řešit tak, že si zopakujeme, co má být cílem logiky a uděláme si pořádek v tom, co z toho, co se dnes pod hlavičkou logika provozuje, je k tomuto cíli schopno nějak skutečně přispět., Since, in the twentieth century, logic has come to essentially rest upon mathematics (just like a lot of other sciences) there began to appear many works which, under the title ´logic´, contained what is basically mathematics. There emerged them term mathematical logic (which was however interpreted in various ways, sometimes precisely to indicate a certain purely mathematical discipline resulting from logic, sometimes as the application of logic to the foundations of mathematics and sometimes also as logic undertaken by mathematical means). Some philosophers interesed in logic, but not specifically in mathematics, therefore began to use the term philosophical logic as a way of reinstating a balance between the philosophical and mathematical aspects of logic. There is a problem however in that this term very quickly acquired a whole range of different meanings which have essentially blurred what should be done under this heading; and, moreover, this situation made the very raison d´etre of logic, which grounds it in reality - viz. examination and critical evaluation of the rules which govern our argumentation nad, in a certain sense, our reasoning -, move to a periphery of logic. This situation should be resolved, I belive, by our revisiting the question of what should be the aim of logic, and by clarifying to what extent that which goes under the title logic can really contribute to this aim., and Jaroslav Peregrin.
Odtud Rorty přechází v oblasti poznání, ale i společenské kritiky bigotnosti, k dílu Johna Deweye a chápe ho v zásadě relativisticky. Článek jako východisko z rortyánského relativismu nabízí pojem „otevřené autority“ a nový filosofický pohled, stále však ukotvený v tradici amerického pragmatismu, na lidskou racionalitu., Richard Rorty, American philosopher (1931-2007) is considered to be one of the most influential thinkers of recent times. His main thesis centres on a critique of representationalism – of the ambition of classical modern philosophy to comprehend nature in the mirror of the human mind. From here Rorty then moves through the area of knowing, and also of a social critique of bigotry, to the work of John Dewey, whom he understands in a fundamentally relativistic way. The aim of this article is to determine the limits of Rorty’s relativism, and to show how we might preserve Rorty’s original critique of representationalism despite these limits. Mention is made of the intensive debates between the late-Rorty and his critics, especially in the area of the philosophy of natural science which, in Rorty’s work, is tellingly left to one side. The article offers, as a way out of Rortian relativism, the concept of “open authority” and a new philosophical view, still in the tradition of American pragmatism, of human rationality., and Boris Cvek.
Důležitým východiskem textu je zarámování filosofie osvobození do kontextu postkolonialismu (Frantz Fanon, Edward W. Said a další). V tomto kontextu je důležitá metodologie dekolonizace myšlení, spočívající v odhalování hlubokých koloniálních tendencí v evropské epistemologii a ontologii. Další ústřední kategorií filosofie Enriqua Dussela je – kromě konceptu osvobození – ovšem také pojem exteriority, kterému věnuji nemalou část svého textu., The main goal of this article is to provide a basic interpretation of Enrique Dussel‘s philosophy of liberation which is one of the alternative analyses of modernity from the point of view of the oppressed. The analysis concentrates on the cultural and philosophical sources of the philosophy of liberation. The important point of departure is postcolonialism (Frantz Fanon or Edward W. Said for example) and in the postcolonial context the methodology of the decolonization of thought-processes is fundamental. The core of this methodology is the revelation of the colonial tendencies hidden in European epistemology and ontology. The main part of the text is dedicated to an analysis of liberation and exteriority., and Ondřej Lánský.
This study is concerned with interpretation of the Tractatus and the picture theory of the early-Wittgenstein from the perspective of the anti-metaphysical reading of M. McGinn and from the perspective of W. Sellars. I analyse McGinn's interpretation and the difficulties which are caused for her in her attempt to provide a non-minimalistic interpretation of Wittgenstein's picture theory. The interpretation of McGinn is then contrasted with Sellars who, unlike the majority of other interpreters, reads Wittgenstein's picture theory in a radically nominalistic way, and places little emphasis on the overall consistency of the Tractatus. I show that his approach allows one to preserve some interesting insights provided by McGinn, while it also manages to avoid the problems that beset her interpretation. Sellars' reading may therefore better serve McGinn's aims than her own reading, although it demands that we give up some of the key theses of the Tractatus. At the same time it may also lead us to a reevaluation of the relevance of the Tractatus for contemporary philosophical debates., Stefanie Dach., and Obsahuje poznámky a bibliografii
Tyto vlastnosti vyobrazují derivační pravidla Tichého systému dedukce., It is sometimes objected that Tichý’s logic is not logic because it underestimates deduction – providing only a logical analysis of expressions. I argue that this opinion is wrong. First of all, detection of valid arguments (which are formulated in a language) requires logical analysis determining which semantical entities – Tichý’s constructions – are involved. Entailment is defined as an extralinguistic affair relating those constructions. The validity of arguments (composed of propositional constructions) stems from properties of the constructions. Such properties are displayed by the derivation rules of Tichý’s system of deduction., and Jiří Raclavský.
Leibnizova koncepce se podle Kanta ukazuje jako neudržitelná, neboť se dostává do rozporu s fenomény, když nedokáže vysvětlit existenci inkongruentních protějšků, jakými jsou pravá a levá ruka., This article is firstly concerned with the question of whether Kant still holds Newton’s conception of space in his work Concerning the Distinction of the Directions in Space, as his reference to “absolute space” seems to suggest. The author attempts to show that this is not in fact the case since the term “absolute space” should not be interpreted as referring to Newton’s conception of space. In the second part of the article, the author focuses on the critique of Leibniz’s conception of space that is the main theme of Kant’s aforesaid work. Leibniz’s conception, in Kant’s view, is shown to be inadequate because it comes into conflict with phenomena by not being able to explain the existence of incongruent counterparts, such as right and left hands., and Jindřich Karásek.
