The Academy Assembly, the highest body of the ASCR responsible for the uppermost priority decisions related to the ASCR, held its XXXV Meeting on December 15, 2007. President of ASCR Jiří Drahoš censured the Government Council for Research, Development and Innovation for changes it made in the method of support for science. The Academy expressed objections to the new scheme as unbalanced in its decreased subsidies for the ASCR. Czech president Václav Klaus told the Academic Assembly that state financial support of science must be perceived within the whole economic situation and is obliged to be part of a society-wide discussion. and Marina Hužvárová.
Otevření expozice „Věda a technika. Dobrodružství, které vás bude bavit!“ v Národním technickém muzeu vernisáží 3. března 2015 zahájilo cyklus výstav pořádaných k výročí 125 let Akademie věd. Ředitel NTM Karel Ksandr při této příležitosti připomněl dlouhodobou spolupráci technického muzea s Akademií věd ČR. Vždyť například unikátní van de Graaffův generátor je v muzejní sbírce díky Ústavu jaderné fyziky AV ČR v Řeži u Prahy, úspěšná byla výstava k 60 letům Ústavu organické chemie a biochemie AV ČR; za společnými aktivitami se ale lze ohlédnout i do starší doby, a to zejména za těmi, které se konaly v rámci „Týdne vědy a techniky“. Mimo jiné zde měla veřejnou premiéru také kniha „Sto českých vědců v exilu“ (viz AB 7-8/2011), uskutečnily se tady i akce k roku DNA (viz AB 5/2003). and Marina Hužvárová.
Roli Akademie věd v České republice v oblasti základního výzkumu lze poměrně dobře zhodnotit. Na množství článků ve významných časopisech se podílí více než třetinou celkového počtu, do citačního ohlasu přispívá téměř polovinou; rovněž získané prostředky z GA ČR se pohybují mezi třetinou a polovinou rozdělované dotace (46 % v roce 2013). Lze říci, že se AV ČR výrazněji zaměřuje na systematický a dlouhodobý výzkum ve vybraných oborech, který je komplementární k výzkumu na vysokých školách - zde je však více svázán s výukou. and Tomáš Kruml, Josef Lazar.
The Academy Assembly, the highest body of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic responsible for the foremost priority decisions related to the ASCR, held its XLI Meeting in the Municipal House in Vinohrady December 13. 2012. By a secret ballot. Professor Jill Drahoa was reelected by the Academy Assembly as the new candidate for the presidency of ASCR for the period 2013-2017. The president of Czech Republic will ratify this election and the nominee will be inducted as the new head of Academy at the XLII Meeting of Academy Assembly on March 19. 2013. and Jiří Drahoš.
Featured this month is an article by Professor Jaroslav Panek of the ASCR's Institute of History on the project Rosenberg Year. This year is the 400th anniversary of the death of Petr Vok, the last male descendant of the Rosenberg family. The project aims to introduce the public to the historical role and cultural work of the Rosenberg family and elucidates this legacy for the present. The project was initiated in commemoration of this culturally important family by the National Heritage Institute which manages the former residences of the Rosenberg family - Rosenberg Castle, Český Krumlov Castle, Třeboň Chateau and Kratochvíle Chateau. One of the exhibitions, The Rosenbergs, family of Czech magnates and its journey through history, was mounted for the Waldstein Riding School in Prague by the National Heritage Institute in collaboration with other cultural institutions. and Jaroslav Pánek.
