Cíl: Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit vztah reminiscenčních aktivit (RA) a depresivity u seniorů žijících v institucionální péči. Sledována byla míra depresivity u seniorů starších 65 let. Byl sledován rozdíl mezi skupinou experimentální a kontrolní po 50 - ti seniorech. Metodika: Pro sběr dat a vymezení depresivity respondentů byl použit screeningový nástroj Škála deprese pro geriatrické pacienty (GDS). Studiem zdravotní dokumentace byla sbírána data, jako je věk, výsledky kognitivního testu MMSE a data z oblasti psychofarmakologické medikace, jelikož je to významný faktor ovlivňující míru depresivity. Hodnocení depresivity proběhlo ve dvou měřeních. U experimentální skupiny proběhla měření před a po absolvování strukturovaných RA. U kontrolní skupiny byla měření provedena ve stejném časovém období, jako ve skupině experimentální, ale již bez RA. Výsledky: Prevalence depresivity v celém souboru respondentů byla 43 %. Depresivita v experimentální skupině byla prokázána u 20 % respondentů. Ve stejném časovém období u skupiny kontrolní byla zjištěna depresivita u 23 % respondentů. Po absolvování RA klesla depresivita u experimentální skupiny o 4 %. Ve zkoumaném souboru bylo statisticky potvrzeno, že RA snižují míru depresivity u seniorů v institucionální péči. Přítomnost depresivní symptomatologie po absolvování RA u experimentální skupiny byla nižší než u skupiny kontrolní. Závěr: Deprese je vážným a život ohrožujícím onemocněním, které se podílí na snížení kvality života seniorů a jejich rodin. Správná diagnostika a léčba deprese vede ke zlepšení kvality života seniorů a jejich rodin. RA jsou významnou psychosociální nefarmakologickou intervencí, která může výrazně přispět ke zlepšení kvality života., Aim: The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between reminiscence activities (RAs) and depression in seniors living in institutional care. The rate of depression was studied in seniors over 65 years of age. Differences between experimental and control groups, each comprising 50 individuals, were assessed. Methods: The Geriatric Depression Scale was used for data collection and identification of depression in the participants. Medical records were used to ascertain their age, Mini Mental State Examination results and psychopharmacological drug use, a significant factor affecting the rate of depression. Depression was evaluated by two measurements. In the experimental group, the measurements were carried out before and after completion of structured RAs. In the control group, the measurements were carried out at the same times but no RAs were provided. Results: The overall prevalence of depression in all participants was 43%. In the experimental and control groups, the rates were 20% and 23%, respectively. After completion of RAs, the rate decreased by 4% in the experimental group. RAs were confirmed to lower the rates of depression in seniors in institutional care. Depressive symptoms were less frequent after RAs in the experimental group than in the controls. Conclusion: Depression is a serious and lifethreatening disease contributing to impaired quality of life of both seniors and their families. Correct diagnosis and treatment of depression lead to improved quality of life of seniors and their families. Článek se zabývá problematikou wrongful life a wrongful birth žalob na základě etických a právních úvah. Základním cílem je nalézt odpověď na otázku, zda by tyto žaloby měly zavedeny do právního řádu či nikoliv. Autor se nepokouší nalézt definitivní odpověď na filosofické otázky, ale spíše se pokouší podat návrhy řešení s ohledem na kulturní a převládající rámec v konkrétní společnosti. Článek se snaží shromáždit argumentační rámec jak zastánců, tak i odpůrců tohoto typu žalob a to jak v morální, tak i v právní rovině. Jsou zde nastíněny základní morální otázky a právní otázky, ke kterým je přiložena argumentace pro a proti a to u jednoho i druhého typu žalob. V závěru se autor pokouší prokázat, že zatímco žaloby „wrongful birth“ mohou být při přijetí určitých etických pozic akceptovatelné, žaloby „wrongful life“ jsou nekonzistentní s teorií deliktního práva a není vhodné, aby byly nároky z nich uplatňované přiznávány., This article deals with the issue of wrongful life and wrongful birth action on the basis of ethical and legal reflections. The basic issue is to find out the answer whether this kind of actions should be established in legal order or not. Author doesn´t try to find out absolute answer on philosophical based questions, but rather tries to submit proposals for solutions considering cultural context in particular society. This article tries to gather ethical and legal arguments from both – proponents and opponents – of this type of actions. There could be find basic moral and legal issues and argumentation for and against it. Dňa 13. decembra 2006 bol na pôde OSN prijatý Dohovor o právach osôb so zdravotným postihnutím, ktorý pre Slovenskú republiku nadobudol platnosť 25.06.2010 a má povahu medzinárodnej zmluvy majúcej prednosť pred zákonmi a Ústavou SR. Význam tohto Dohovoru spočíva predovšetkým v „zhmotnení“ dlhoročnej iniciatívy zameranej na ochranu práv zdravotne postihnutých osôb na medzinárodnej úrovni, na podklade ktorej je „najväčšej svetovej minorite“ umožnené žiadať rešpektovanie ich ľudských práv. Náš príspevok sa zameriava na analýzu katalógu práv, ktoré majú chrániť osoby so zdravotným postihnutím, presahmi na oblasť poskytovania zdravotnej starostlivosti ako aj jeho dopadom na vnútroštátne politiky štátov, ktoré tento Dohovor transponovali do svojich vnútroštátnych poriadkov. V neposlednom rade je pozornosť venovaná súvisiacej judikatúre Európskeho súdu pre ľudské práva., On 13 December 2006, the UN adopted the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which in the Slovak republic came into force on 25.06.2010 and as an international treaty takes precedence over the laws and constitution. The importance of this Convention lies primarily in the "materialization" long-standing initiative aimed at protecting the rights of disabled persons at the international level, on the basis of which is "the world's largest minority" able to demand respect for their human rights. Our contribution focuses on the analysis of the catalogue of rights which is supposed to protect a person with a disability, overlaps in area of health care and its impact on national policy states that transposed the Convention into their national law systems.
