- Type:

- Subject:
- function space, weak continuity, generalized continuity, quasi-continuous function, and pointwise topology
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- Let X be a Baire space, Y be a compact Hausdorff space and ϕ: X → Cp(Y ) be a quasi-continuous mapping. For a proximal subset H of Y × Y we will use topological games G1(H) and G2(H) on Y × Y between two players to prove that if the first player has a winning strategy in these games, then ϕ is norm continuous on a dense Gδ subset of X. It follows that if Y is Valdivia compact, each quasi-continuous mapping from a Baire space X to Cp(Y ) is norm continuous on a dense Gδ subset of X.

- Subject:
- Bessel-Riesz operator, fractional integral operator, and generalized Morrey space
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- We revisit the properties of Bessel-Riesz operators and present a different proof of the boundedness of these operators on generalized Morrey spaces. We also obtain an estimate for the norm of these operators on generalized Morrey spaces in terms of the norm of their kernels on an associated Morrey space. As a consequence of our results, we reprove the boundedness of fractional integral operators on generalized Morrey spaces, especially of exponent 1, and obtain a new estimate for their norm.

- Subject:
- weighted Lorentz space, weighted inequality, non-increasing rearrangement, Banach function space, and associate space
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- We study normability properties of classical Lorentz spaces. Given a certain general lattice-like structure, we first prove a general sufficient condition for its associate space to be a Banach function space. We use this result to develop an alternative approach to Sawyer's characterization of normability of a classical Lorentz space of type $\Lambda $. Furthermore, we also use this method in the weak case and characterize normability of $\Lambda _{v}^{\infty }$. Finally, we characterize the linearity of the space $\Lambda _{v}^{\infty }$ by a simple condition on the weight $v$.

15935. Normal cryptogroups with an associate subgroup

- Subject:
- semigroup, normal cryptogroup, associate subgroup, representation, strong semilattice of semigroups, and Rees matrix semigroup
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- Let $S$ be a semigroup. For $a,x\in S$ such that $a=axa$, we say that $x$ is an associate of $a$. A subgroup $G$ of $S$ which contains exactly one associate of each element of $S$ is called an associate subgroup of $S$. It induces a unary operation in an obvious way, and we speak of a unary semigroup satisfying three simple axioms. A normal cryptogroup $S$ is a completely regular semigroup whose $\mathcal H$-relation is a congruence and $S/\mathcal H$ is a normal band. Using the representation of $S$ as a strong semilattice of Rees matrix semigroups, in a previous communication we characterized those that have an associate subgroup. In this paper, we use that result to find three more representations of this semigroup. The main one has a form akin to the one of semigroups in which the identity element of the associate subgroup is medial.

- Language:

- Description:
- Let Q = (qn)n=1∞ be a sequence of bases with qi ≥ 2. In the case when the qi are slowly growing and satisfy some additional weak conditions, we provide a construction of a number whose Q-Cantor series expansion is both Q-normal and Q-distribution normal. Moreover, this construction will result in a computable number provided we have some additional conditions on the computability of Q, and from this construction we can provide computable constructions of numbers with atypical normality properties., Dylan Airey, Bill Mance, Joseph Vandehey., and Obsahuje seznam literatury

15937. Normal Vietoris implies compactness: a short proof

- Subject:
- hyperspaces, Vietoris topology, locally finite topology, Hausdorff metric, compactness, normality, and countable compactness
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- One of the most celebrated results in the theory of hyperspaces says that if the Vietoris topology on the family of all nonempty closed subsets of a given space is normal, then the space is compact (Ivanova-Keesling-Velichko). The known proofs use cardinality arguments and are long. In this paper we present a short proof using known results concerning Hausdorff uniformities.

- Description:
Předložená analýza „normalizační“ ideologie, průběhu čistek a podoby postupně zaváděných mechanismů kontroly a dohledu tak představuje zásadní příspěvek k poznání mocenských vztahů v tehdejší společnosti. Svazek S minulostí zúčtujeme přináší edici dvou rozsáhlých klíčových dokumentů k dějinám „normalizace“ na fakultě – „Analýzy FF UK“ z roku 1970, jejímž účelem bylo shrnout „konsolidaci“ fakulty, a „Rehabilitační zprávy“, jež rekapitulovala činnost fakultní rehabilitační komise fungující v letech 1989 až 1992. and [autor recenze] Vítězslav Sommer.

- Subject:
- MV -algebra, abelian lattice-ordered group, q-lattice, and normalization of a variet
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- We consider algebras determined by all normal identities of MV -algebras, i.e. algebras of many-valued logics. For such algebras, we present a representation based on a normalization of a sectionally involutioned lattice, i.e. a q-lattice, and another one based on a normalization of a lattice-ordered group.

15940. Normalized data barrier amplifier for feed-forward neural network

- Subject:

- Description:
- A boundary vector generator is a data barrier amplifier that improves the distribution model of the samples to increase the classification accuracy of the feed-forward neural network. It generates new forms of samples, one for amplifying the barrier of their class (fundamental multi-class outpost vectors) and the other for increasing the barrier of the nearest class (additional multi-class outpost vectors). However, these sets of boundary vectors are enormous. The reduced boundary vector generators proposed three boundary vector reduction techniques that scale down fundamental multi-class outpost vectors and additional multi-class outpost vectors. Nevertheless, these techniques do not consider the interval of the attributes, causing some attributes to suppress over the other attributes on the Euclidean distance calculation. The motivation of this study is to explore whether six normalization techniques; min-max, Z-score, mean and mean absolute deviation, median and median absolute deviation, modified hyperbolic tangent, and hyperbolic tangent estimator, can improve the classification performance of the boundary vector generator and the reduced boundary vector generators for maximizing class boundary. Each normalization technique pre-processes the original training set before the boundary vector generator or each of the three reduced boundary vector generators will begin. The experimental results on the real-world datasets generally confirmed that (1) the final training set having only FF-AA reduced boundary vectors can be integrated with one of the normalization techniques effectively when the accuracy and precision are prioritized, (2) the final training set having only the boundary vectors can be integrated with one of the normalization techniques effectively when the recall and F1-score are prioritized, (3) the Z-score normalization can generally improve the accuracy and precision of all types of training sets, (4) the modified hyperbolic tangent normalization can generally improve the recall of all types of training sets, (5) the min-max normalization can generally improve the accuracy and F1-score of all types of training sets, and (6) the selection of the normalization techniques and the training set types depends on the key performance measure for the dataset.
