Let G be a finite group, and let N(G) be the set of conjugacy class sizes of G. By Thompson’s conjecture, if L is a finite non-abelian simple group, G is a finite group with a trivial center, and N(G) = N(L), then L and G are isomorphic. Recently, Chen et al. contributed interestingly to Thompson’s conjecture under a weak condition. They only used the group order and one or two special conjugacy class sizes of simple groups and characterized successfully sporadic simple groups (see Li’s PhD dissertation). In this article, we investigate validity of Thompson’s conjecture under a weak condition for the alternating groups of degrees p+1 and p+2, where p is a prime number. This work implies that Thompson’s conjecture holds for the alternating groups of degree p + 1 and p + 2., Alireza Khalili Asboei, Reza Mohammadyari., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
Let $G$ be a finite group. Let $X_1(G)$ be the first column of the ordinary character table of $G$. We will show that if $X_1(G)=X_1({\rm PGU}_3(q^2))$, then $G \cong{\rm PGU}_3(q^2)$. As a consequence, we show that the projective general unitary groups ${\rm PGU}_3(q^2)$ are uniquely determined by the structure of their complex group algebras., Farrokh Shirjian, Ali Iranmanesh., and Obsahuje bibliografické odkazy
The aim of this paper is to analyze changes in fertility in Slovakia in interwar period and to describe its overall character in transversal and longitudinal perspective. The article is based on data from vital statistics of Statistical office. Special attention is paid to the level of concious fertility control and spatial differencies. and Branislav Šprocha, Pavol Tišliar.
This article examines the development of panel studies and their main characteristics. The first part of this article outlines the historical development of panel studies. Here special reference is made to the first panel studies ever undertaken, and the influence of Paul Lazarsfeld on this field of research. Thereafter, there is an overview of some recent national panel studies, and different approaches used in the analysis of panel data. The second part of this article concentrates on the panel study as a type of longitudinal research where special attention is given to a number of issues: unit of analysis, mode of data collection, time span between waves of data collection, duration of panel studies, research themes and policy influences, and opportunities for studying change at the individual (micro) level. In the final section, there is a discussion of the specific difficulties associated with panel study research., Zdeňka Lechnerová., and Obsahuje bibliografii a bibliografické odkazy

Opportunities and risks following current European elections and maintaining and improving the health of citizens in EU countries was a major theme of the EHFG annual conference in October in Gastein, Austria. The Ebola crisis in six African nations, with about 14,000 reported cases and 4,900 deaths, was another topic of discussion by the 600 leading experts in attendance. The World Health Organization states 4.7 million people could be infected and 1.2 million people could die from Ebola by June 2015. The crisis is not just an epidemic, it is a systemic failure of our global health care model, according to experts. Moreover, it is a failure on governance, international development assistance, but primarily on the failure to take immediate action. and Marina Hužvárová.
