Double stars five us not only insight into stellar masses, dimensions, and luminosities (as has been appreciated for many years), but also clues as to the late stages of evolution, as in novae and combination variables, where late type giant or supergiant stars are paired with small, hot companions. Some even provide information on atomic spectra, notably iron, whose emission lines are displayed so prominently in objects such as XX Oph and RR Tel.
Hα filtergrams and GOES X-ray observations of four homologous flares of May 28, 1980 are analysed. The Hα data gave us information about the spatial structure of the flares. The X-ray data were used to determine the temperature of flare plasma and to investigate its time variations. We have found that the duration of the high plasma:temperature are approximalely equal for all the four analysed flares. The Hα-structure of these flares was complicated
nevertheless we have found only slight changes of the structure from flare to flare. These resulls suggest that a common reviving source of the energy release is responsible for all the four homologous flares. The individual flares are due to successive revivals of the energy source. The conditions of the energy flow along the magnetic field lines emerging from the energy source
determine which parts of the chromosphere are seen in the
Hα emission.
Some preliminary results of perturbation method applied to 5/2 asteroidal resonance with Jupiter are presented. The results are compared with those obtained by the author with the Wisdom method previously applied to this resonance by Šidlichovský and Melendo. Inferences for the origin of the corresponding Kirkwood gap are drawn.
The coordinates of the Earth´s axis of rotation as obtained from different observation techniques are intercompared in three frequency windows. It is shown that the best accordance between different techniques is achieved in the medium frequency band (i.e. between 0.5 and 1.0 cpy) and that we cannot either give absolute preference or to abandon any of the techniques used.
Th is article critically engages in the perplexed ontology of the complaint, which crosses the boundaries between the personal and the public and at the same time undermines the presuppositions organizing said division within the academic workplace. A feminist counterpublic – as Nancy Fraser defi nes it – opens ways of opposing the existing inequalities by producing a discursive space of critique of the status quo from an oppressed or marginalized position. Following the analysis of the complaint off ered by Sara Ahmed, this article emphasizes the political dimension of the complaint, showing how it actually needs to become something else, probably more than a mere procedure, to bring any change. Th e passage from complaint to counterpublic built here is an eff ort to combine the critique of academic procedures of justice as potentially discriminatory practices within neoliberal academia with a suggestion that perhaps a more public and labour rights oriented strategy is better suited to accomplish equality.
