Podložím celé studie jsou autorovy výzkumy prováděné jednak v tzv. romských osadách na Slovensku a jednak v tzv. romských ghettech v České republice., The main question of the article is whether there exists a specific Roma criminality. In his study, which primarily answers the above mentioned question, the author examines the issue from the socio-cultural perspective, that is he considers “Roma” as bearers of a specific (i.e. Roma) culture and Roma criminality as a specific part of this culture, or more precisely, as a consequence of the contact of the bearers of this culture with the bearers of the culture of the majority (in this case Czech) society. In this sense, the paper represents a criticism of all the conceptions of Roma criminality based on a presumption that criminal behaviour is part of the Roma nature (“it is in their blood”). In this connection, the author makes an attempt to discover the causes of Roma criminality. At a general level, he identifies two types of these causes: 1) causes determined by a specific (i.e. Roma) cultural tradition and 2) causes resulting from the adaptation of the Roma (in a given sense) to the contemporary situation of the Czech society. The empirical data come from research conducted by the author and his fiancée in Roma settlements in Eastern Slovakia and in the so called “Roma ghettos” in the Czech Republic., Marek Jakoubek, and Literatura
Dlouhá tradice zhotovování plastik nahých žen (badárské neolitické postavy, plačky, „panenky“, „souložnice zemřelého“, sošky žen sloužící jako ex voto) z různých materiálů vyústila v Egyptě v raném 7. – pozdním 10. století n. l. k vytváření velmi stylizovaných figurek nahých žen. Jde o koptská hlazená kostěná řezbářská díla obvykle zachycující schematicky a přísně geometricky pojednaná obdélníková ženská těla. Jeden idol (obr. 7) datujeme do 9.–10. století, druhý (obr. 8) do 8.–9. století. Oba představují názornou ukázku koptského lidového kostěného řezbářského umění. To později dosáhlo svého vrcholu ve fátimovském dekorativním umění 11. a 12. století., The long tradition of making nude female figurines (badarian neolitic figures, women mourners, „paddle dolls“, „female companions of the dead“, female ex voto statuettes) from various materials in Egypt led to the creation of the Coptic bone carvings representing an extremely stylized nude female figures in the period between the early 7th and the late 10th centuries AD. Usually, the cubic body of these polished figures is very schematically rendered and strongly geometrized. All the anatomical details are indicated mainly by means of deep straight incised lines. Legs are separated by a straight vertical line carved in the middle, feet marked by simple horizontal grooves. Two typical bone figures of unknown provenance, which we interpret as the Coptic fertility idols, are deposited in a Czech private collection, the first one (Fig. 7) being dated back to the 9th–10th centuries, the second one (Fig. 8) to the 8th–9th centuries. Both idols represent a characteristic example of folk Coptic bone carving art, which later reached its pinnacle in the Fatimid decorations of the 11th and 12th centuries., Břetislav Vachala, and Literatura
Příspěvek zdůrazňuje souvislost globalizace světa a potažmo ošetřovatelství (migrace pacientů i zdravotnických pracovníků) a nutnost akceptace této skutečnosti v ošetřovatelském vzdělávání i klinické praxi. Základním zmiňovaným kritériem je vytváření kulturně bezpečného prostředí pro sestry i pacienty v podmínkách českého ošetřovatelského systému, který je stále ještě poměrně hodně etnocentrický., This paper highlights the globalisation of world and the internationalisation of nursing (patient and health care givers migration) which has to lead to being embedded into nursing curricula and also clinical practice. Accentuated is the need for effective and practical cooperation with individuals of different cultures and ethnicity. The main tool for interculturally competent health care professional becomes effective communication, based on knowledge of the individual patient‘s needs according to the different cultures and their satisfaction, but with an emphasis on the individuality of the patients and no the group affiliation. Presented is basic model and assumptions for the socio-cultural competence. The basic mentioned criterion is creating a culturally safe environment for nurses and patients in the conditions of the Czech nursing system which is still quite a lot ethnocentric., Andrea Pokorná, and Literatura
