- Description:
- Free-living amoebae infecting freshwater and marine fish include those described thus far as agents of fish diseases, associated with other disease conditions and isolated from organs of asymptomatic fish. This survey is based on information from the literature as well as on our own data on strains isolated from freshwater and marine fish. Evidence is provided for diverse fish-infecting amphizoic amoebae. Recent progress in the understanding of the biology of Neoparamoeba spp., agents responsible for significant direct losses in Atlantic salmon and turbot industry, is presented. Specific requirements of diagnostic procedures detecting amoebic infections in fish and taxonomic criteria available for generic and species determination of amphizoic amoebae are analysed. The limits of morphological and non-morphological approaches in species determination are exemplified by Neoparamoeba, Vannella and Platyamoeba spp., which are the most common amoebae isolated from fish gills, Acanthamoeba and Naegleria spp. isolated from various organs of freshwater fish, and by other unique fish isolates of the genera Nuclearia, Thecamoeba and Filamoeba. Advances in molecular characterisation of SSU rRNA genes and phylogenetic analyses based on their sequences are summarised. Attention is particularly given to specific diagnostic tools for fish-infecting amphizoic amoebae and ways for their further development.

- Language:
- English
- Description:
- Aerial photogrammetry was chosen as an additional observation method of the subsidence depression that was created above exploited coal mining panels near Karviná. While individual points of a permanent observation network were repeatedly surveyed by GNSS, the whole subsidence depression was surveyed by the aerial photogrammetry. As this method was applied three times (during three years) we can compare its results in individual years and observe the major surface changes on the undermined area. Also, a comparison was realized between the points’ coordinates gained from both aerial photogrammetry and GNSS. The results show that the method of aerial photogrammetry enriches and complements the GNSS observation in monitoring the spatial development and shape of the subsidence depression, especially in the areas of active recultivation., Vlastimil Kajzar, Hana Doležalová, Kamil Souček and Lubomír Staš., and Obsahuje bibliografii

505. Aerodynamic forces measured on a fluttering profile

- Type:
- model:article and TEXT
- Subject:
- aeroelastic experiments, self-excited vibrations, wind tunnel, and interferometry
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- The study presents evaluation of optical measurements of the air flow field near the fluttering profile NACA0015 with two-degrees of freedom, Mach number of the flutter occurence were M = 0.21 and M = 0.45. Aerodynamic forces (drag and lift components) were evaluated independently on the upper and lower surfaces of the profile. Using the mentioned decomposition, the new information about mechanism of flutter properties was obtained. The forces on the upper and lower surfaces are phase shifted and are partially eliminated as a result of the circulation around the profile. The cycle changes of these forces cause the permanent energy contribution from the airflow to the vibrating system. and Obsahuje seznam literatury

506. Aeroelastic sensitivity analysis of airliner wing

- Format:
- bez média and svazek
- Type:
- model:article and TEXT
- Subject:
- aeroelasticity, flutter, eigenvalue, sensitivity, and FNG wing
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- This paper describes the airliner wing flutter sensitivity analysis. The sensitivity coefficients define the influence of the structural parameter changes to tthe structure eigenvalue and flutter stability characteristics. Evaluated structural parameters represent the possible changes of the structure due to the installation of the smart high-lift devices at the leading and trailing edge region. In general, we can suppose the increasing of the mass and mass moment of inertia around the elastic axis and decreasing of the stiffness. Described effects are ordinarily considered destabilizing regarding the flutter. The main aim of the presented work is to evaluate the impact of components to the stability and to define the most critical regions or parameters. and Obsahuje seznam literatury

- Subject:
- aeroelasticity, equations of motion, frequency domain, laminar and turbulent air flow, plexiglass sheet, slender facades, transient dynamics, wave approach, and wind canal
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- Assessment of ultimate aeroelastic response of slender facades equipped with thin plexiglass sheets. The wave approach is used for modeling of aeroelastic wind forcing. The analysis of structural response is based on the transient dynamics. Some theoretical approaches are specified with experimental verification in the wind canal. The comparison of numerical and experimental approaches is made in order to demonstrate the efficiency of the procedures suggested. and Obsahuje seznam literatury

- Language:

- Description:
- Based on the study of type material, two new genera of cestodes (Cyclophyllidea: Anoplocephalidae) are proposed for Paranoplocephala Lühe, 1910 sensu lato species from African rodents. Afrojoyeuxia gen. n., proposed for A. gundii (Joyeux, 1923) comb. n. from Ctenodactylus gundi (Rothmann) (Hystricomorpha: Ctenodactylidae), is characterized by a high length/width ratio of mature proglottids, longitudinally extensive testicular field positioned anterior to the female glands, an ovoid or subspherical cirrus-sac and a thick, conical cirrus. Hunkeleriella gen. n., proposed for H. dasymidis (Hunkeler, 1972) comb. n. from Dasymys incomtus (Sundevall) (Myomorpha: Muridae), differs from related genera mainly by its short (10-20 mm) and wide strobila and neck, unilateral genital pores (exceptionally with a few changes per strobila), the position of the genital pores (slightly anterior to the middle of proglottid margin) and initially tube-like early uterus (later reticulated). Parandrya Gulyaev et Chechulin, 1996, earlier suggested to be a junior synonym of Paranoplocephala, is considered to be a valid, independent genus. Evidence of non-monophyly and need for a taxonomic revision of Paranoplocephala sensu lato, as well as the phylogenetic position of A. gundii and H. dasymidis are discussed.

- Language:

- Description:
- Amongst the non-native Ponto-Caspian gobies that have invaded the Middle Danube is the monkey goby Neogobius fluviatilis (Pallas, 1814). Despite a strong specialization towards sandy substratum, revealed in a previous study, monkey goby is considered an invasive species and therefore should demonstrate great plasticity in its biological traits. The main aim of the present study was to evaluate the age and growth of a non-native population of monkey goby from the River Ipeľ in Slovakia. Six age groups (0 – V) were observed in the sample from the River Ipeľ (n = 165), with males demonstrating faster growth than females, which was reflected both in the smoothing cubic B-spline model and in the annual increment. The cubic B-spline model indicated a reverse Lee’s phenomenon, especially in males, which is likely to have arisen from the size selective mortality. Growth of invading monkey goby from the River Ipeľ was slower than that reported for the species’ native range. Together with other growth patterns, this may suggest (among other possible explanations) a greater allocation of resources to reproduction than to somatic growth, which is a life-history pattern typical for newly established populations of successful invaders.

- Description:
- Growth patterns of the golden loach, Sabanejewia balcanica were examined in the Rijeka River in Central Croatia on a total of 77 specimens collected in a single sampling session in June 2006. No significant difference was found in total body length between males and females. Age was determined from otoliths. Both males and females live 4 years, though due to the sampling period, no 0+ age fish were found in this study. The length-weight relationship was calculated as W=2x10-6TL3.3229 for males and W=3x10-6TL3.2811 for females, indicating positively allometric growth. According to the growth factor k, growth of males was three times faster than that of females.
