- In diesem Aufsatz wird so eine Reihungsweise der Sprachen vorgeschlagen, in der die unmittelbar nebeneinander eingereihten Sprachgruppierungen gleichzeitig einander sprachlich am nächsten stehen. Wenn diese Reihungsweise der Sprachen auf die Weltkarte projiziert wird, und zwar den Siedlungen der betreffenden Sprachbenutzer entsprechend, entsteht eine Kette, die der maximalen sprachlichen Nähe (bzw. Verwandtschaft) folgt. Für Beurteilung der jeweiligen sprachlichen Nähe werden Stützen in solcher Fachliteratur gesucht, die sich mit breit aufgefaßten sprachlichen Verwandtschaften beschäftigt. Überdies wird eine Grundgliederung der Sprachen der Welt in fünf Globalsektionen vorgeschlagen, wobei diese Grundgliederung von der hypothetischen prähistorischen Zugehörigkeit der betreffenden urzeitlichen Sprachbenutzer zur jeweiligen Menschenrasse ausgeht. Dabei wird ein Unterschied zwischen den archaischen Sprachen, die von der Epoche prähistorischer sprachlicher Kontinuität und Verzettelung her überliefert sind, und den Expansionssprachen, die durch Differenzierung der jeweiligen Ursprache entstanden sind, gemacht. Für die Urheimat der Sprachahnen aller Sprachbenutzer wird hier Afrika gehalten. Das Ergebnis dieser Abhandlung ist so eine Reihungsweise der Sprachen, die mit den aus den ursprünglichen Sprachen der paläonegroiden Rasse entstandenen Sprachen beginnt, an die die Sprachen anschließen, die aus den ursprünglichen Sprachen der negroiden Rasse entstanden sind; weiter sind die aus den ursprünglichen Sprachen der kaukasischen Rasse entstandenen Sprachen eingereiht, denen die Sprachen nachfolgen, die aus den ursprünglichen Sprachen der mongoloiden Rasse entstanden sind; die ganze Sprachenfolge endet mit den Sprachen, die aus den ursprünglichen Sprachen der australoiden Rasse entstanden sind.

- Metalloporphyrins serve important roles in biology and as components in emerging technological assemblies for energy conversion. In this report, we describe the synthesis and characterization of a novel cobalt(II) 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (3-fluorophenyl)porphyrin bearing a 4-vinylphenyl surface attachment group at a beta position on the macrocycle. Electrochemical measurements show the 3-fluorophenyl groups at the meso positions of the porphyrin perturb the reduction potentials of the complex to more positive values as compared to non-fluorinated analogs, thus allowing access to reduced cobalt porphyrin species at significantly less negative applied bias potentials. The complex, cobalt(II) 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(3-fluorophenyl)-2-(4-vinylphenyl)porphyrin, is abbreviated in this article as Gov-1 in honor of Govindjee for his pioneering investigations in the role of fluorine as a promoter of novel protein-substrate interactions and the inspirational role he continues to have in encouraging young investigators in the areas of natural and artificial photosynthesis., D. - Pea (Pisum sativum) leaves grown under high and low iiradiances were exposed for 6 h to a limiting, saturating oř excessive irradiance. The tůně courses of synthesis of the photosystem 2 (PS 2) core proteins D2 and CP43 and CP47 were studied. The D2 protein synthesis characteristics were shown to be dependent on both the growth irradiance and the irradiance during synthesis, reflecáng long-term and short-term adjustments of the plant. CP43 and CP47 synthesis was less susceptible to alterations in irradiance.

- Metabolic syndrome (MetS) belongs to the serious health complications expanding in cardiovascular diseases, obesity, insulin resistance, and hyperglycemia. In this study, hypertriacylglycerolemic rats fed a high-fat-fructose diet (HFFD) were used as an experimental model of MetS to explore the effect of tested compounds. Effects of a new prospective pyridoindole derivative coded SMe1EC2 and the natural polyphenol rutin were tested. Endothelial nitric oxide synthase (NOS3) and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) expression were assessed in the left ventricle immunohistochemically and left ventricle activity was monitored in isolated perfused rat hearts. NOS3 activity in the left ventricle decreased markedly as a result of a HFFD. NOS3 expression was upregulated by both substances. NF-κB expression was increased in the MetS group in comparison to control rats and the expression further increased in the SMe1EC2 treatment. This compound significantly improved the coronary flow in comparison to the control group during reperfusion of the heart followed after ischemia. Further, it tended to increase left ventricular systolic pressure, heart product, rate of maximal contraction and relaxation, and coronary flow during baseline assessment. Moreover, the compound SMe1EC2 decreased the sensitivity of hearts to electrically induced ventricular fibrillation. Contrary to this rutin decreased coronary flow in reperfusion. Present results suggest that despite upregulation of NOS3 by both substances tested, pyridoindole SMe1EC2 rather than rutin could be suitable in treatment strategies of cardiovascular disorders in MetS-like conditions.

- In practise a corrugation tests are widely used for evaluation a flatglass quality during its mass production. Recently, these tests have been based on a subjective standards comparison with the ripple of the zebra-plate image reflected by the glass-sheet sample. Tests in a continuous production process are performed even several times per hour under usual conditions. Our research aim consists in an objectification of corrugation quantity replacing the subjective observer by digital camera and processing unit, all verified routinely in the production process. For a corrugation analysis the unique software was proposed and developed using the Matlab environment, including the data acquisition in service. The code is compiled as an independently executable module. The principle of the method rests in the detection of boundary lines between light and dark areas of the sample image and their evaluation employing statistical approach, curve rectification and determination of its fractal dimension. The quality parameter obtained in such a way and recalculated by means of weighted coefficients is in the accord with the results previously achieved using the subjective methodology. and Pro hodnocení vlnitosti skla je v praxi využíván tzv. test zvlnění (corrugation test), který je založen na pozorování míry zvlnění odrazu zebra-desky od vzorku skla a subjektivním porovnáním s etalony. Tento test se v běžných provozních podmínkách provádí i několikrát za hodinu při nepřetržitém provozu. Cílem výzkumu je objektivně kvantifikovat vlnitost nahrazením pozorovatele digitálním fotoaparátem a vyhodnocovací jednotkou a zařízení zprovoznit v praxi. V rámci výzkumu byl vyvinut software pro kvantitativní analýzu nazvaný Vlnitost v prostředí Matlab a pro účely sběru dat v provoze byl kompilován do samospustitelného programu. To znamená, že program není závislý na prostředí Matlab, ale pouze na jeho tzv. knihovnách, které jsou spolu s programem nainstalovány na počítači. Systém umožňuje ovládání fotoaparátu přímo z programu Vlnitost. Program je založen na detekci křivek rozhraní mezi světlem a stínem odraženého obrazu od vzorku a vyhodnocení těchto křivek. Pro hodnocení je užíváno několika parametrů včetně statistických, délek křivky a fraktální dimenze. Výsledná jakost je pak přepočtena pomocí váhových koeficientů a je shodná s již dříve zavedenou škálou pro subjektivní hodnocení vlnitosti. Modifikovaná metodika je používána také pro porovnání a kvantifikaci změn povrchů materiálů v metalografických výbrusech probíhajících vlivem působení korozního prostředí a fraktální geometrie je také užívána pro popis dat ze senzorů v průmyslové praxi.
