The manuscript collection of polyphonic compositions, a so-called Codex Speciálník (Prague, ca. 1485-1500), is presented in the study as a possible starting point for an investigation of the everyday life of a late medieval town. The centre of attention is primarily the alphabetically arranged index of the compositions, which was to facilitate orientation in the musical contents of the codex. The majority of the compositions were copied into the manuscript without the name of the author, therefore the textual incipits were used in the index for the identification of the anonymous songs and motets. and Lenka Hlávková.
Badatelé z různých oborů zde ve svých přednáškách i živých diskusích demonstrovali rozmanitost přístupů a témat, jež jsou vlastní environmentálním dějinám, i skutečnost, že v České republice i na Slovensku již viditelně zapouštějí kořeny., A ‘Workshop on the Environmental History of the Czech Republic and Slovakia’ was held in the south Moravian village of Kobylí from 5 to 7 June 2015. It was attended by more than 200 scholars from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany, to discuss the contemporary state of environmental history in education and academia in these three countries, related general questions of method, and possible future development in this area of research in central Europe, particularly in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In their papers and during the discussions that followed, scholars from various fields revealed a variety of approaches and topics in environmental history, and also the fact that in the Czech Republic and Slovakia the field has clearly already put down roots., and Markéta Šantrůčková.
The territory of Moravia is well known for its high density of Early Upper Paleolithic sites. However, the majority of sites are surface sites lacking chrono-stratigraphic data. To further our understanding of the technological development, and replacement of Neanderthals by Anatomically Modern Humans between 50-40 kya, necessitates the discovery of new stratified sites. We implemented a project aimed at discovering new EUP sites with intact sediments. Central part the Bobrava Highland is an important EUP microregion and is located on the southwestern margin of the Brno Basin. We relocated almost all previously published sites in the area and conducted surface surveys in an attempt to discover additional surface sites. At each site we recorded the artifact clusters in absolute coordinates, and searched for potential artifacts in the intact sediments, often along the edges of surface artifact clusters. We have located intact sediments at four sites previously recorded as surface sites. We found in situ artifacts at two of the sites. The developed and successfully tested survey strategy may have potential application for surveys in other microregions., Petr Škrdla ... [et al.]., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
