Je podán stručný souhrn nejdůležitějších endokrinních změn, které provázejí stárnutí u muže. Klíčovou je osa hypotalamus-hypofýza-testes, jejíž snížená výkonnost vede k relativnímu poklesu androgenů. Také snížený potenciál sekrece růstového hormonu je snížením androgenního zásobení ještě dále oslabován a podobně je tomu i u melatoninu.
