- Description:
- The “Personalia” chapter brings an obituary of a prematurely deceased ethnographer Phdr. Jan Krba. Apart from a short period spent on the Academy of Sciences of Czechoslovakia in Brno at the turn of the 1990s, his professional career was connected to Eastern Moravia. He studied ethnography at Charles University, Prague. Before that, he had worked as a conservator in the Ethnographic Institute in Vsetín and in the Wallachian Open-Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. When he finished his studies, he worked in the museum as a curator of the collection of crafts up to the late 1980s. He focused on traditional smithery. He published ethnographical as well as popular texts on this craft and organized shows of blacksmiths. A biographical medallion is complemented by selected bibliography of Jan Krba’s works. In the section Personalia, we commemorate an anniversary of Jan Krist, director of the Institute of Folk Culture in Strážnice. A native of Milotice, he graduated from ethnography at Masaryk University and his professional life has been, except for a short interlude, connected with today’s Institute of Folk Culture in Strážnice. In his professional activities, he participated in its publishing activities (as an editor of ethnographic journals Národopisné aktuality and Národopisná revue), as an author of programmes of the International Folklore Festival, he is also active in organizational area. The biographical medallion is complemented by a bibliography of published texts. and Abstrakt na str. 68 je společný pro všechny 4 články uvedené v oddílu Personalia
