Čeští a němečtí odborníci v oboru historie, sociální geografie, ekonomie, politologie, teologie a orientalistiky promluvili ve veřejné panelové diskusi „Uprchlíci a my: Česká očekávání a německá zkušenost“, kterou za účasti německého velvyslance Arndta Freiherra Freytaga von Loringhovena uspořádala Učená společnost ČR 19. dubna 2016 v budově Akademie věd ČR. The Second Argentine - Czech Biennale Workshop E-Golem took place in Buenos Aires on September 24-26, 2007. It was organized by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat for Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of the Argentine Republic, with suppport from the Czech Embassy in Argentine and the Argentine Embassy in the Czech Republic. Its general subject was Society of information and Communication - Emerging technologies and their applications in society and the arts. The aim of this event was to discuss this issue in detail such topics as, artificial intelligence, image processing, web-technologies, nano-technologies for life sciences, eco-technologies and so forth. Stejnojmenný seminář se z iniciativy Grantové agentury ČR uskutečnil 20. května 2015 v budově Akademie věd na Národní třídě v Praze. Jako hlavní řečníci vystoupili prof. Štěpán Jurajda a doc. Daniel Münich z CERGE-EI (společného pracoviště Univerzity Karlovy a Národohospodářského ústavu AV ČR) a prof. Jaroslav Pánek z Historického ústavu AV ČR. Grantová agentura ČR jako nejvýznamnější poskytovatel účelových finančních prostředků v oblasti základního výzkumu tímto seminářem poukázala na význam společenských a humanitních oborů a na dopad jejich výsledků. Téma bylo zvoleno i s ohledem na to, že jde o faktor, který hraje významnou roli při přípravě a hodnocení grantových projektů. and Jaroslav Pánek ; autor úvodu Pavel Baran.
The tradition of International Congresses of Historical Sciences started in 1900. Except during the World War I and World War II, it has been held 21 times so far. Being the most influential academic activity of historical sciences, it enjoys a reputation of the “Olympics of Historical Sciences”. From 23 to 29 August, 2015, the 22nd ICHS was held in Jinan, China. It was the first time for the Congress to be held in Asia. The event, hosted by the International Committee of Historical Sciences, was organized by the Association of Chinese Historians and Shandong University. The Congress included four major themes: “China from Global Perspectives”, “Historicizing Emotions”, “Revolutions in World History: Comparisons and Connections” and “Digital Turn in History”. There were also a series of academic activities such as specialized theme discussions, joint sessions, round tables, evening discussions, and poster session for post- graduate and PhD students etc. Over 2000 historians from all over the world participated in those activities including 15 Czech historians from the Institute of History of the CAS, the Institute of Contemporary History of the CAS, Charles University, University of Pardubice and Palacký University Olomouc. and Jaroslav Pánek.
