The paper deals with a part of the hydrostatic system for kinetic energy recovery of vehicles equipped with mechanic-hydraulic drive, namely with the pump part. A description of its use at experiemental stand and at experimental vehicle - a pneumatic road roller for finishing the road surface - is introduced. This paper is concerned with Francis water turbine power control issue. There are introduced six conceptions of power controllers and corresponding control loop features are discussed. The control features are illustrated with step responses and the major attention is paid to the undesirable under-control effect.
