V Senátu Parlamentu ČR se 28. března 2014 uskutečnil kulatý stůl na téma využití evropských strukturálních a investičních fondů (European Structural and Investment Funds - ESIF) v oblasti výzkumu a vzdělávání, a to především v souvislosti s podfinancováním sektoru VaV v Praze. Jednání iniciovala Akademie věd ČR ve spolupráci s pražskými vysokými školami, aby upozornila na vážnost situace. The symbol of the contemporary Czech state, the last Czechoslovak and the first Czech president Václav Havel died on December 18, 2011. He first came to international fame as a dissident playwright in the 1970s through his involvement with the human rights manifesto Charter 77.
