Cílem tohoto přehledového článku je seznámit čtenáře se základními reformními představami současné politické reprezentace v USA v oblasti zdravotnictví. Představuje čtenáři studii Reformy zdravotnictví v USA, která byla uveřejněna v únoru 2009 Health Group OECD v Paříži. Práce se věnuje nejen celkové situaci v oblasti financování péče o zdraví, ale analyzuje také rozdíly, které existují mezi různými populačními skupinami v USA. Předkládaná práce navazuje na článek, který byl publikován v ZČR v roce 2005., The goal of the overview paper is to introduce basic reform measures in the health system in the United States of America.The paper tries to summarize the Group of Health OECD currently published study Health care reform in the United States – Economic Department working paper No. 665 from 6th February 2009.The paper deals not only with the health financing but would like also to introduce the overview of the U.S. health system stay of art and analyze also the differences between various groups of Americans. Současně s genetickým výzkumem jsou vyvíjeny technologie umožňující stále rychlejší a levnější analýzu genetické informace. Tyto postupy společně s novými poznatky výzkumu jsou využívány komerčními společnostmi, které koncem roku 2007 začaly nabízet zákazníkům testy stanovující rizika vzniku různých multifaktoriálních onemocnění dospělého věku.Takto nabízené prediktivní genetické testování bylo v zahraničních i tuzemských odborných kruzích kritizováno, a to jak z hlediska odborně vědeckého, tak i etického. Na rozdíl od běžné klinické praxe není součástí komerčně nabízeného prediktivního testování genetické poradenství, což je jedním z etických problémů, na které poukazuje toto sdělení., The progress of genetic research along with new technologies enables increasingly faster and cheaper analysis of genetic information.These improvements together with recent discoveries are used by commercial companies which have been offering direct-to-consumer susceptibility testing for several late onset complex diseases since the end of the year 2007. This kind of predictive genetic testing has been criticized by scientific community for its low clinical validity and utility.Ethical problems connected with commercially offered predictive genetic testing have been also discussed. Genetic counselling is a part of genetic testing in standard clinical practice; commercial companies do not include genetic counselling in their services.
