- Description:
- This paper deals with a generalized automatic method used for designing artificial neural network (ANN) structures. One of the most important problems is designing the optimal ANN for many real applications. In this paper, two techniques for automatic finding an optimal ANN structure are proposed. They can be applied in real-time applications as well as in fast nonlinear processes. Both techniques proposed in this paper use the genetic algorithms (GA). The first proposed method deals with designing a structure with one hidden layer. The optimal structure has been verified on a nonlinear model of an isothermal reactor. The second algorithm allows designing ANN with an unlimited number of hidden layers each of which containing one neuron. This structure has been verified on a highly nonlinear model of a polymerization reactor. The obtained results have been compared with the results yielded by a fully connected ANN.

- Description:
- We propose automatic modularization method for artificial neural networks (ANNs). We treat modularization as an optimization task, therefore the optimization criteria are defined and the topology capable of continuous iterative modularization is introduced. The modularization process starts with unstructured plain network topology and iteratively builds up a modular structure. Automatic modularization approach not only learns to map inputs to outputs but it also tries to discover a structure of knowledge represented by training patterns.

- The paper describes general resolving of task, which was solved in our workplace for firm Mubea HZP ltd. in Prostějov. Colour marks at the surface of automobile spring are scanned by camera. Consequently computer program analyses marks’ images and determines what manipulator will do with the spring. Key elements of resolution, working conditions and reasons for choice of specific devices are describes here too. and Publikace popisuje rámcové řešení úkolu, který byl na našem pracovišti řešen pro společnost Mubea HZP s.r.o. z Prostějova. Barevné značky na automobilových pružinách určujících jejich třídu jsou nasnímány kamerou. Následně proběhne vyhodnocení programem, který rovněž dává pokyn manipulátoru, jak s každou pružinou naložit. Jsou popsány klíčové prvky pro řešení, podmínky, za jakých výsledný produkt pracuje, a důvody, které vedly k výběru konkrétních zařízení.

- Description:
- This paper deals with an automatic part-of-speech disambiguation of Czech texts containing the word to (E. it) in fixed collocations used especially in spoken Czech, and, moreover, with case identification of the pronominal reading of this word. The word to is ambiguous: the result of automatic morphological analysis of this word is either the pronominal lemma ten (it) as a nominative/accusative singular neuter, or the particle lemma to. It is very difficult to automatically distinguish the nonprepositional nominative and accusative case in Czech texts. Therefore, the paper primarily focuses on to as a particle. The software module performing automatic identification of collocations in Czech corpus texts is part of the automatic morphological rule-based disambiguation used for tagging texts of synchronic Czech in the corpora of the SYN series: it deals mainly with the disam-biguation of nongrammatical collocations and phrases. The paper focuses on fixed ex-pressions listed in the Dictionary of Czech Phraseology and Idiomatics and is based on the description of automatic identification and classification of collocations comprising the word to in the SYN2010 corpus. Also, examples (primarily idioms) are presented where automatic disambiguation using general grammatical rules yields unreliable results.

- Description:
- The paper deals with the identification of the dative/non-dative interpretation of a non-prepositional noun (the head noun in a prepositional group) in a rule-based automatic morphological disambiguation of Czech sentences. Based on the valency considerations including syntactic functions of the complements of verbs (these functions being an object or an adverbial) and resulting in the lists of verbs having / not having object dative valency, negative and positive non-heuristic (safe) as well as heuristic rules are presented. The negative rules assign a noun a non-dative interpretation using a list of verbs that cannot tolerate a dative noun in their close vicinity, whereas the positive ones specify a given noun as being in the dative case on the basis of the verbs having an object dative valency, an object being either the only object of the verb, or its second indirect object. The paper deals only with the non-prepositional nouns which are much more difficult to disambiguate than the prepositional ones.

2639. Automating the creation of channel cross section data from aerial laser scanning and hydrological surveying for modeling flood events

- Subject:
- aerial laser scanning, cross section, flow rate, GIS, hydrodynamic model, letecké laserové skenování, příčný profil, průtok, and hydrodynamický model
- Language:

- Description:
- Knowing the extent of inundation areas for individual N-year flood events, the specific flood scenarios, and having an idea about the depths and velocities in the longitudinal or transverse water course profile provided by hydrodynamic models is of key importance for protecting peoples’ lives and mitigating damage to property. Input data for creating the watercourse computational geometry are crucial for hydrodynamic models. Requirements for input data vary with respect to the hydrodynamic model used. One-dimensional (1D) hydrodynamic models in which the computing track is formed by cross-sectional profiles of the channel are characterized by lower requirements for input data. In two-dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic models, a digital terrain model is needed for the entire area studied. Financial requirements of the project increase with regard to the input data and the model used. The increase is mainly due to the high cost of the geodetic surveying of the stream channel. The paper aims at a verification and presentation of the suitability of using hydrological measurements in developing a schematization (geometry) of water courses based on topographic data gained from aerial laser scanning provided by the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre. Taking into account the hydrological measurement during the schematization of the water course into the hydrodynamic model consists in the derivation of flow rate achieved at the time of data acquisition using the method of aerial laser scanning by means of hydrological analogy and in using the established flow rate values as a basis for deepening of the digital terrain model from aerial laser scanning data. Thus, the given principle helps to capture precisely the remaining part of the channel profile which is not reflected in the digital terrain model prepared by the method of aerial laser scanning and fully correct geometry is achieved for the hydrodynamic model. and Znalost rozsahu záplavových území pro jednotlivé N-leté povodňové události a konkrétní povodňové scénáře, včetně získané představy o hloubkách a rychlostech v podélném či příčném profilu vodního toku, které poskytují hydrodynamické modely, zaujímá výsadní postavení z pohledu ochrany životů a zmírnění škod na majetku občanů.
