A short description is given of the Atlas of UV extinction which will be published on Astronomy and Astrophysics Suppl. Series. The Atlas presents a collection of 115 extinction curves derived fron low dispersion IUE spectra retrieved from VILSPA Data Bank.
Introduction: Some characteristics and remarks about the satellite
of CEI (Central European Initiative),called CESAR (Central European Satellite for Advanced Research) are introduced in paper presented. First of all, they are connected with the planned registration of the acceleration caused by the non-gravitational forces acting on the motion of the near-Earth satellite. The
investigation will be realised by a very sensitive microaccelerometer
(Peřestý, Sehnal, [1]). Therefore we calculated and constructed the graphs of acceleration curves for input orbital elements and for the TD88 (Total Density 1988) atmosphere model (Sehnal, [2]).
We used a non-rotating and a rotating atmosphere. We paid attention to determination of the time interval of the CESAR satellite illumination during the year 1997, which is planned for its launching. The calculation of sun-synchronous orbital elements completes the preventing considerations.
Atmospheric turbulence can be the source of some systematic and random range error, and of the decrease of maximum range measured. Formulas are collected for energy density decrease and for some of the errors, including systematic photon trajectory lenghts increase, not mentioned before according to authors knowledge.
This paper is mainly devoted to establishing an atomic decomposition of a predictable martingale Hardy space with variable exponents defined on probability spaces. More precisely, let (Ω,F, ℙ) be a probability space and p(·): Ω →(0,∞) be a F-measurable function such that 0 < {\inf _{x \in \Omega }}p(x) \leqslant {\sup _{x \in \Omega }}p(x) < \infty . It is proved that a predictable martingale Hardy space Pp(·) has an atomic decomposition by some key observations and new techniques. As an application, we obtain the boundedness of fractional integrals on the predictable martingale Hardy space with variable exponents when the stochastic basis is regular., Zhiwei Hao., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
The effects of the atomic ratio of N to P (N:P) on the response of Alexandrium tamarense to UV radiation (UVR) were investigated in this study. Artificial sea water of 5 different N:P ratios for indoor culture and with 3 different N:P ratios for outdoor culture were used for a period of 14 and 9 d, respectively. The short-term response of cells to UVR was analyzed using a fluorometer. Cells that acclimated to nutrient conditions at the Redfield value (16:1) showed the fastest growth rate and highest pigment concentrations in both indoor and outdoor conditions, compared to those acclimated to the non-Redfield conditions. Moreover, these physiological parameters were functions of the N:P ratio according to a two-order equation (y = a + bx + cx2, R2>0.95). The fluorescence data of indoor cultures showed that A. tamarense grown at 16:1 (N:P) exhibited the greatest ratio of repair rate/damage rate (r/k) and minimum level of UVR-induced inhibition. among those grown at all of the N:P ratios following UVR exposure. Outdoor cultures had the same patterns of fluorescence as indoor cultures, but the less UVR-induced inhibitions were detected compared the former with the latter. The following three parameters, the r/k, level of inhibition caused by the two radiation treatments following 60 min of exposure (PAR and PAB, respectively), and level of UVR-induced inhibition, were also functions of the N:P ratio according to the two-order equation (R2>0.96). Further, there was a negative correlation between
UVR-induced inhibition and the r/k ratio. In summary, the Redfield value (16:1) was the optimal nutrient stoichiometry for the protection of A. tamarense against the deleterious effects of UVR. Results were not impacted by previous light history experienced by cells., W. C. Guan, L. Li., and Obsahuje bibliografii
We show some families of lattice effect algebras (a common generalization of orthomodular lattices and MV-effect algebras) each element E of which has atomic center C(E) or the subset S(E) of all sharp elements, resp. the center of compatibility B(E) or every block M of E. The atomicity of E or its sub-lattice effect algebras C(E), S(E), B(E) and blocks M of E is very useful equipment for the investigations of its algebraic and topological properties, the existence or smearing of states on E, questions about isomorphisms and so. Namely we touch the families of complete lattice effect algebras, or lattice effect algebras with finitely many blocks, or complete atomic lattice effect algebra E with Hausdorff interval topology.
Sulfur (S) is an essential nutrient element required in a large quantity by mustard. S regulates photosynthesis and plant growth through improving nitrogen (N) acquisition. Mustard cultivars Alankar, Varuna, Pusa Jai Kisan, and SS2 differing in S accumulation capacity calculated as sulfate transport index (STI) were tested for ATP-sulfurylase activity, S and N accumulation, photosynthesis, and shoot dry mass (DM) at 30 and 60 d after sowing (DAS). The activity of ATP-sulfurylase, shoot N content, net photosynthetic rate (PN), leaf area, and shoot DM of the cultivars were in the order: Pusa Jai Kisan>Alankar>Varuna>SS2. ATP-sulfurylase activity was strongly and positively correlated with PN and shoot DM in all the cultivars. Hence ATP-sulfurylase activity may be used as a physiological trait for augmenting photosynthesis and shoot DM. and R. Nazar, N. A. Khan, N. A. Anjum.
A case of attachment and complete engorgement of a Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806) nymph on a woman with severe pain shortly before nymphal drop-off is described. The pain continued for about 2 weeks after tick removal. Apparently, this is the first documented case of human adverse reaction developed at the very last stage of engorgement of nymphal R. sanguineus. The infestation most likely took place inside the enclosed household garden in the southern area of Jerusalem where the woman took care of the plants. The importance of immature R. sanguineus ticks in attacking humans is discussed.
