A new mite species Schizocoptes daberti sp. n. (Acariformes: Chirodiscidae) from Chrysochloris stuhlmanni Matsche (Afrosoricida: Chrysochloridae) from the Democratic Republic of the Congo is described. It differs from the closely related species S. conjugatus Lawrence, 1944 in both sexes by distance si-si at least twice longer than si-se (vs these distances are subequal in S. conjugatus); in females by setae cp 30-40 µm long (vs about 65 µm long), and in males by the very weakly sclerotised posterior parts of the hysteronotal shield (vs strongly sclerotised), setae d1 situated anterior to the hysteronotal shield (vs at the hysteronotal shield), and by opened coxal fields III (vs closed). Keňská národní rezervace Masai Mara (též Maasai Mara) o rozloze 1 510 km2 se nachází ve Velké příkopové propadlině a přímo navazuje na národní park Serengeti v severní Tanzanii. Většinu jejího území pokrývají mírně zvlněné travnaté savany živené četnými srážkami v několika obdobích dešťů od listopadu do dubna. Pouze území v blízkém okolí řeky Mary a jejích přítoků jsou zalesněná. Rezervace je celosvětově proslulá mimořádně početnými migrujícími stády velkých kopytníků a jejich predátorů. V posledních desetiletích však populace některých druhů výrazně ubývají, za hlavní rizikové faktory se považuje rozšiřující se pastva skotu a nekontrolovaný rozvoj cestovního ruchu., Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, covering an area of 1,510 km2, is situated in the Rift Valley with Tanzania’s Serengeti Plains running along its southern end. Most of the reserve is made up of hilly grassland, fed by plentiful rain, especially during the wet months between November and April. Only the areas near the Mara river and its tributaries are forested. The reserve is famous for its exceptional migrating populations of larger ungulates and its predators. However, the last decades have seen a considerable decrease in abundance of some species - the main causes are expanding livestock grazing and uncontrolled development of tourism., and Miloš Anděra.

Fourteen species (twelve adult and two larval) of nematodes belonging to the Ascaridoidea, Camallanoidea, Cosmocercoidea, Habronematoidea, Oxyuroidea, Seuratoidea and Trichinelloidea were collected from fishes in the Sudan (River Nile and Atbara Dam Lake), whereas only four species (one adult and three larval) of the Ascaridoidea, Camallanoidea, Dioctophymatoidea and Trichinelloideafrom fishes in Ethiopia (Lake Tana). The Sudanese material also contained two previously unknown species, Cucullanus mormyri sp. n. from Mormyrus caschive Linnaeus (type host), Mormyrus sp. and Marcusenius cyprinoides (Linnaeus) (all Mormyridae), and Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) pseudospiralis sp. n. from Synodontis schall (Bloch et Schneider) (type host), S. frontosus Vaillant and S. nigrita Valenciennes (all Mochokidae), which are described based on light and scanning electron microscopical studies. Cucullanus baylisi Campana-Rouget, 1961, a little-known parasite of Synodontis spp., is redescribed in detail. A key to Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) spp. from African inland fishes is provided. Falcaustra guiersi Vassiliadès, 1973 is considered a junior synonym of F. hexapapillata (Khalil, 1962). The findings represent several new host and geographical records.
