Porovnání vzorků testovaných pacientů s dvěma kontrolními vzorky se zvýšenou aktivitou AST bylo hodnoceno na základě výpočtu procenta precipitační aktivity polyethylenglykolu (PEG-precipitable activity, % PPA) dle Davidsona a Watsona. Séra pacientů a kontrol byla dále skladována při 4°C po dobu 144 hodin a monitorování aktivity enzymu AST bylo prováděno každých 24 hodin. Výsledky a závěr: U obou vyšetřovaných pacientů bylo po precipitaci s PEG 6000 potvrzeno podezření na výskyt makroenzymové formy AST v séru (% PPA 92 a 79), na rozdíl od techniky skladování vzorku při 4°C, kde pokles aktivity AST nebyl prokázán. Použití poměrně jednoduchého a finančně nenáročného laboratorního průkazu makroenzymové formy AST mohou zamezit dalším nákladným invazivním vyšetřením a diagnostickým chybám., Design: Original paper Settings: Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Vídeňská 1958/9, 140 21 Praha 4 Materials and Methods: Sera of two tested patients were precipitated with polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000, Sigma Aldrich) in a volume ratio of 1:1. After centrifugation, AST enzyme activity in the supernatant was determined (Architect ci16200, Abbott). AST enzyme activity values were compared to those of the patient sera, which were diluted with saline (NaCl 9 g/L) in a volume ratio of 1:1. The results of comparing of the tested patient samples with the two control samples were evaluated as a percentage of PEG-precipitable activity (%PPA). The patient and control sera were stored at 4°C for 144 hours and AST enzyme activity was monitored after each 24 hours. Results and Conclusions: The presence of macro-AST as the most probable cause of permanently increased activity of AST in serum was confirmed. PEG-precipitable activities in tested patients were 92 and 79 %, respectively. In contrast, the comparative method of storing samples at 4°C did not reveal any decline of AST activity. Průlomová bolest (PB) je definována jako přechodné vzplanutí bolesti silné intenzity při dobře kontrolované základní bolesti analgetickou léčbou. Vyskytuje se u bolesti nádorového i nenádorového původu a dotaz na ni by měl být běžnou součástí každého kontaktu s pacientem. Ideálním řešením léčby je užití analgetika s rychlým nástupem účinku, snadno aplikovatelného a současně bezpečného pro pacienta. Článek uvádí přehled dostupných analgetik z každého stupně analgetického žebříčku WHO vhodných k léčbě PB a poukazuje na současné trendy léčby PB transmukózními formami fentanylu u onkologických pacientů., Breakthrough pain (BP) is defined as transitory pain that occurs on a background of relatively well controlled baseline pain. This pain character can join pain of tumour disease origin but not only that one. Question to specify the character of pain should be common in daily contact with a patient. To resolve this problem it seems necessary to provide patients wit rescue mediation with rapid 30 minute onset. The article comes with analgetics review according to WHO classification and suitable for BP and available in the Czech Republic. From the point of fast onset view we are looking for new approaches and application routes practical also for outpatient departments. Intranasal fentanyl offers such option. Purpose: Usually any research survey can produce better results if it is utilized in local language. The study aimed to measure the inter-consistency, reliability and validity of three measures in Arabic language. Current study is phase I of research project to validate the measures in Arabic language. Material and Method: These three valuable and most widely used scales, Rosenberg self-esteem scale, brief psychological well-being scale and impact of weight on quality of life questionnaire were translated in Arabic language by adapting standard procedure of translation. Data was gathered from female students (N=500) enrolled in bachelors program during the period of November 2014-October 2015. Results: Reliability of the scale was calculated using Cronbach alpha. Psychological well-being scale was found having high reliability of 0.92, whereas, Rosenberg self-esteem scale and Impact of weight on quality of life questionnaire was found having acceptable range of reliability (0.72). All the sub scales of IWQOL-Lite reliability ranges from 0.87-0.95. Three of the scales were found having good content and construct validity.
