- Description:
- The Munich Agreement was a pact regarding the Sudetenland, which were areas along borders of Czechoslovakia, mainly inhabited by Czech Germans. The agreement was discussed among representatives of major powers of Europe without the presence of Czechoslovakia leaders. After a conference held in Munich in 1938 the agreement was signed in the early hours of September 30. The purpose of the conference was to discuss the future of Czechoslovakia in the face of territorial demands made by German dictator Adolf Hitler. The agreement, signed by Nazi Germany, France, Britain, and Italy permitted German annexation of Czechoslovakia´s Sudetenland. The Sudetenland was of immense strategic importance to Czechoslovakia, since most of its border defenses were situated there. and Jan Němeček, Jan Kuklík.

- Language:

- Description:
V závěru diskutuje formy intervence vhodné pro sektor terciárního vzdělávání a předkládá doporučení pro budoucí výzkum. and Mobbing in higher education: an overview of international research Mobbing (or workplace bullying) refers to a repeated aggressive behavior directed at one or more individuals who find it difficult to defend themselves. During the last two decades, social science research has shown that mobbing represents a relatively widespread, yet mostly hidden aspect of workplace relations both in private and state organizations. This paper focuses on mobbing in higher education, with a particular attention paid to mobbing at universities. Mobbing in higher education is characterized by relatively subtle and indirect forms of hostile behavior which, nevertheless, have devastating impact on its targets, as well as on educational institutions. Based on the overview of current international research, the author discusses the incidence, forms, causes, and consequences of mobbing in higher education. The paper further draws attention to social and organizational factors of mobbing, such as the intensification of workload, growing job insecurity, or commoditization of education. In conclusion, the author identifies forms of intervention suitable for the higher education sector and offers recommendations for future research.

14765. Mobile robot localization under stochastic communication protocol

- Type:
- model:article and TEXT
- Subject:
- Riccati equations, localization, mobile robot, and stochastic communication protocol
- Language:
- English
- Description:
- In this paper, the mobile robot localization problem is investigated under the stochastic communication protocol (SCP). In the mobile robot localization system, the measurement data including the distance and the azimuth are received by multiple sensors equipped on the robot. In order to relieve the network burden caused by network congestion, the SCP is introduced to schedule the transmission of the measurement data received by multiple sensors. The aim of this paper is to find a solution to the robot localization problem by designing a time-varying filter for the mobile robot such that the filtering error dynamics satisfies the H∞ performance requirement over a finite horizon. First, a Markov chain is introduced to model the transmission of measurement data. Then, by utilizing the stochastic analysis technique and completing square approach, the gain matrices of the desired filter are designed in term of a solution to two coupled backward recursive Riccati equations. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed filter design scheme is shown in an experimental platform.

- Description:
- The activity of the Forward Air Controllers (FAC), organized in the groups TACP, is the one of the most important activities among the dismounted units on the current battlefield. The dismounted companies or the platoons of the NATO armies cannot rely only on the force of their weapons, but they have to be able to utilize the firepower of the artillery and chiefly the air force. Only just the air controllers, incorporated in dismounted units, can mediate this fire support. Without controllers, the possibilities of dismounted soldiers are almost in balance with their enemies, who neutralize the technological hegemony (the device C4IRSTA) of the small units of NATO states and ABCA with quantity of their warriors. The direct and indirect fire support of the dismounted units is only one of the activities of TACP groups. Their use in the depth of the enemy area is equally significant and it enables to lead the precision air attacks or to support the secret service activities (HUMINT, IMINT) with utilization of the air systems. and Činnost předsunutých leteckých návodčích (FAC), organizovaných ve skupinách TACP, je jednou z nejdůležitějších aktivit mezi sesednutými jednotkami na současném bojišti. Sesednuté roty či čety armád NATO nemohou nyní spoléhat jen na sílu svých zbraní, ale musí být schopny využít palebné síly dělostřelectva a především letectva. A právě letečtí návodčí, zařazení do těchto sesednutých jednotek, jim mohou tuto palebnou podporu zprostředkovat.

14767. Moc obrazu: vizuální poezie Václava Havla
- Creator:
- Steiner, Peter
- Format:

- Type:
- model:article and TEXT
- Language:

- Description:
- The author seeks here to link Havel’s well-known dramatic output with his visual poetry, which is far less known. The notion of the double bind, the author argues, is a predominant trope of Havel’s oeuvre. By applying Grelling’s paradox to Havel’s visual texts, the author illustrates the techniques Havel uses to produce logograms whose visual representation contradicts the verbal message conveyed by them.

- Description:
- In the Middle Ages, Pseudo-Aristotelian Secretum secretorum was an exceptionally widespread text, both in Latin and vernacular versions. It was a thematically varied treatise, a kind of sum of knowledge, containing information from statecraft, natural sciences, medicine and health science. The main attention of the study is focused on the spread of this treatise in medieval Bohemia. It follows not only its manuscript preservation and its context, but also the milieu in which this text was received, or which parts were received in the given, specific milieu. An important theme is also the translations into Czech and the reception of this treatise in texts written in Czech., Pavlína Cermanová., and Obsahuje poznámky pod čarou

- Subject:

- Language:

- Description:
- The aim of the paper is modal condensation of a system which represents bladed disk. These kinds of systems are mainly used in steam turbines what is the topic of the article. The model of the bladed disk is based on decomposition into a disk subsystem and a blading subsystem. The finite element method is used for modeling of the both subsystems. All influences of steady-state rotation are respected as centrifugal forces, gyroscopic effects, centrifugal stiffening of blades and dynamic softening. Blades are modeled by using ID elements and the disk is modeled by using 3D hexahedral elements. Modal condensation is applied to a disk subsystem. Different levels of the condensation are presented and compared on a testing bladed disk. and Obsahuje seznam literatury
