The article follows the spread of the cult of St Maurice in the Czech lands, where it penetrated apparently from the monastery of St Maurice in Niederaltaich. The chapel in the episcopal palace at Prague Castle might have been consecrated to him under Bishop Severus (Šebíř), primarily Bishop of Olomouc Bruno of Schauenburg was responsible for its spread in Moravia. The spread of the cult was helped also by Maurice´s reliquaries, deposited from the middle 12th century in the cathedral in Prague. In the 14th century, Charles IV brought a sword of St Maurice to Prague, which was part of the imperial treasury. The transport of the body of St Sigismund (1365), the founder of the Abbey of St Maurice d´Augane, was also important for the expansion of the cult in Bohemia. The study also follows all of the medieval artistic monuments that are connected with the cult., Petr Kubín., and Obsahuje literaturu a odkazy pod čarou
The Prison Service of the Czech Republic has been collecting e-data about imprisoned persons and presenting particular descriptive statistics in its annual reports since 1996. However, essential underlying information and complex relations analyses are not worked out in depth. The Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention offers particular narrowly focused analysis, but has never prepared a comprehensive description based on Czech prison data and models derived from it. As the country is about to prepare a prison service reform, complex statistical and microeconomic models are required. One of the reasons why advanced modelling could not be conducted was the absence of an appropriately adapted dataset. This article describes the steps from a dataset provided by the Prison Service of the Czech Republic to a fi nal database which allows performing advanced analyses. The aim of this paper is also to describe the properties of the database and to report the total number and structure of cases of imprisonment in the CR between 1996 and 2012., Maria Králová, Laura Fónadová., and Obsahuje bibliografii
V naší fauně jsou známy dva původní druhy suchozemských neparazitických ploštěnců (Microplana terrestris a M. humicola) a další dva nepůvodní druhy se pravidelně vyskytují ve sklenících (Bipalium kewense a Rhynchodemus sylvaticus). Výskyt druhého z nepůvodních druhů je pravděpodobný i ve volné přírodě., Two native species of free-living terrestrial flatworms (Microplana terrestris and M. humicola) are known in the wild of the Czech Republic and two other non-native species (Bipalium kewense and Rhynchodemus sylvaticus) have been repeatedly recorded in the greenhouses. The occurrence of the later non-native species is also likely in the outdoors., and Michal Horsák.
Originálním způsobem přitom využil a zpracoval primární prameny, v prvé řadě obsáhlou korespondenci a svazky z Havlova vyšetřování bezpečnostními složkami. Tomuto žánru by podle recenzenta lépe odpovídalo, kdyby Suk plnohodnotněji uvedl na scénu Gustáva Husáka a Alexandera Dubčeka jako Havlovy protihráče., This review was originally published in English in the German periodical Bohemia, vol. 53 (2013), no. 2, pp. 493-95. (To access it free of charge, go to http://recensio.net/r/4e2937fb30d447aea90d2d5cf58cb326) As the author notes, Suk does not aim to provide a comprehensive biography, but instead concentrates on Havel the dissident, political writer, and co-founder of independent opposition groups and projects. Suk achieves this with an original approach to the primary sources, first and foremost Havel’s voluminous correspondence and the secret-police files kept on him. Suk writes as a member of the generation that grew up in the period of Normalization policy and came of age in 1989. His attitude to Havel is positive, respectful, but not idolizing; he does not shut his eyes to controversial aspects of Havel’s life. The reviewer then comments on Suk’s choice of the term ‘comedy’ (as understood by the literary critic and theorist Northrop Frye) as the genre of his book. This genre, the reviewer argues, would have been better served had Suk brought Gustáv Husák and Alexander Dubček more fully onto the stage as Havel’s adversaries., [autor recenze] Kieran Williams ; z angličtiny přeložila Marzia Patonová., přeloženo z angličtiny, Obsahuje bibliografii, and Tři hlasy k jedné knize
