A hybrid approach to elephant trunk technique for treatment of thoracic aortic aneurysms combines a conventional surgical and endovascular therapy. Compared to surgery alone, there is a presumption that mortality and morbidity is reduced. We present a case report of a 42-year-old man with a giant aneurysm of the entire thoracic aorta, significant aortic and tricuspid regurgitation and ventricular septum defect. Úvod: U 60 % nemocných s kolorektálním karcinomem jsou diagnostikovány jaterní metastázy (JMKRK), ať už v době stanovení diagnózy, nebo v průběhu léčby. Chirurgická léčba je jedinou potenciálně kurabilní metodou s pětiletým přežíváním dosahujícím cca 50 %. Jaterní resekci však podstoupí méně než 20 % pacientů s JMKRK. Společnou snahou onkologů a chirurgů je navýšit počet resekovaných pacientů. Jedním z postupů, jak navýšit resekabilitu JMKRK, je „liver first approach“ (LFA). Autoři prezentují vlastní předběžné výsledky této metody. Metody: Do multicentrického grantu IGA MZ NT 13660 – Hodnocení kvality multimodální péče u nemocných s jaterními metastázami kolorektálního karcinomu – bylo od září 2012 do ledna 2015 zařazeno v ÚVN 102 pacientů. LFA jsme použili u 12 pacientů (12 %). Po příznivé léčebné odpovědi neoadjuvantní systémové léčby jsme pacienty indikovali k resekci jater. U 11 pacientů se jednalo o mnohočetné (>4 meta) bilobární postižení. V jednom případě se jednalo o objemnou solitární metastázu pravého jaterního laloku. Primární tumor byl u 9 nemocných v rektu, u 3 v oblasti rektosigmatu, 3 pacienti měli derivační kolostomii, ostatní byli bez poruchy pasáže. Výsledky: U 11 pacientů jsme provedli R0 resekci jaterních metastáz, 3x jsme indikovali dvoufázovou hepatektomii s portální embolizací (PVE), 1x jsme pro progresi po PVE ustoupili od 2. fáze). Velkou resekci jsme provedli 7x, neanatomickou resekci včetně RFA 11x (6x v kombinaci s velkou resekcí). Perioperační mortalita byla nulová, morbidita 33 % (Dindo-Clavien >2). 10 pacientů absolvovalo adjuvantní chemoterapii, 7 z nich včetně radioterapie malé pánve pro lokálně pokročilý tumor rekta. U 7 pacientů (58 %) jsme doplnili resekci primárního tumoru. V současné době zemřeli na progresi onemocnění 2 pacienti (17 %), progresi onemocnění jsme zaznamenali u 6 pacientů (50 %). Závěr: LFA považujeme za vhodný především u pacientů s generalizovaným tumorem rekta, kdy lze po resekci jater adjuvantní systémovou léčbu kombinovat s radioterapií malé pánve. Otázkou zůstává načasování operace primárního tumoru, kdy je nutné vyloučit recidivu jaterních metastáz, která se objevuje u více než 50 % pacientů. Profit LFA musí být prokázán randomizovanými studiemi., Introduction: Liver metastases are diagnosed in 60% of patients with colorectal cancer, both at the time of diagnosis or later in the course of their management. Surgical treatment is the sole potentially curable method with 5–year overall survival of approximately 50%. However, only less than 20% of patients underwent liver resection. A joint effort of medical oncologists and surgeons is to increase the numbers of resected patients. The “liver first approach” (LFA) is one of approaches aimed at increasing resecability. The authors present their preliminary results using this method. Methods: 102 patients were included in the multicentre study supported by the grant IGA NT 13660 − Evaluation of quality of multimodal treatment for patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases – conducted at the Central Military Hospital between September 2012 and January 2015. We used LFA in 12 patients (12%). Patients were indicated for liver resection based on good response to neoadjuvant systemic therapy. Multiple bilobar liver involvement (>4 metastases) was present in 11 cases and one large solitary metastasis in the right liver lobe in one case. The primary tumor was located in the rectum in 9 patients, in the rectosigmoid in 3 patients; 3 patients had a colostomy. Others showed no signs of bowel obstruction. Results: We have performed R0 resections in 11 cases, and two-stage hepatectomy with portal vein embolisation was indicated 3 times (in one case we did not finish the second stage due to quick progression after PVE). We performed major resections 7 times, along with sever extraanatomic resections, incl. 11 RFA (6 times in combination with major resections). Perioperative mortality was 0%, morbidity 33% (Dindo-Clavien >2). Ten patients underwent adjuvant chemotherapy, in 7 cases including radiotherapy of the small pelvis due to a local advanced primary tumor. Resection of the primary tumor was done in 7 patients (58%). Two patients died recently because of disease progression (17%); progression was observed in 6 patients (50%). Conclusion: We deem the LFA suitable especially for patients with metastatic rectal tumors where adjuvant systemic therapy can be combined with radiotherapy. The timing of the resection of the primary tumor still remains a question: it is necessary to rule out potential recurrence of liver metastases, which affected more than 50% of the patients. The aim of this study was to compare the isolation systems OptraDam® Plus and OptiDam™ with the conventional rubber dam in terms of objective and subjective parameters. The isolation systems were applied during the dental treatment of the patients. The time of preparation, placement, presence and removal were measured and the quality of isolation was evaluated. The median time of rubber dam placement was 76 s (Q1=62 s; Q3=111.25 s). The application time of OptraDam® Plus was significantly longer compared to the other systems (P ® plus. Cíl: Nepravidelné dávkování inzulinu je jedním z hlavních problémů spojených s inzulinovou terapií u pacientů s diabetem 2. typu; jeho skutečný rozsah však není přesně znám. Cílem průzkumu provedeného v ČR v rámci mezinárodního projektu GAPP2TM – Globální přehled přístupů pacientů a lékařů (Global Attitudes of Patients and Physicians) proto bylo ověřit, jaký je výskyt a dopad nepravidelného užívání bazálních inzulinových analog u pacientů s diabetem 2. typu, jakým způsobem a z jakých důvodů k těmto nepravidelnostem dochází, a jakým způsobem zdravotníci o nepravidelné aplikaci inzulinu s pacienty diskutují. Metodika: Projekt GAPP2TM je mezinárodní průřezovou studií provedenou on-line formou dotazníku prostřednictvím internetu u pacientů s diabetem 2. typu léčených inzulinovými analogy a u lékařů a zdravotníků, kteří tyto pacienty ošetřují. Průzkum proběhl ve dvou vlnách v celkem 17 zemích světa; do první vlny, která byla dokončena začátkem roku 2012, bylo zahrnuto 6 zemí, do druhé, dokončené v roce 2014, pak dalších 11 zemí včetně České republiky. Průzkum měl za cíl získat data o pohledech pacientů a lékařů na některé aspekty léčby diabetu 2. typu inzulinem a o přetrvávajících problémech v této oblasti v reálné každodenní praxi. Zabýval se zejména incidencí a zvládáním lehkých hypoglykemií a nepravidelnostmi v aplikaci inzulinu. V části zaměřené na adherenci k aplikaci bazálního inzulinu byly sledovány 3 typy nepravidelností v léčbě inzulinem: vynechání dávky, časový posun dávky (? 2 hodiny oproti předepsanému času) a snížení dávky, ve všech v případech během uplynulých posledních 30 dnů před vyplněním dotazníku. Dále bylo zkoumáno chování pacientů ve vztahu k této problematice a jejich vnímání těchto problémů. Výsledky: Výsledky průzkumu ukázaly, že nepravidelné dávkování inzulinu je v České republice méně časté než v ostatních zemích, v nichž probíhal výzkum GAPP2TM. I tak se ovšem týká cca pětiny všech nemocných s DM 2. typu léčených inzulinovými analogy v režimu bazál-bolus nebo pouze bazál. Při poslední nepravidelné aplikaci bazálního inzulínu se jednalo o záměr pacienta při úplném vynechání dávky ve 13 % případů, posun aplikace byl záměrný ve 23 % a snížení dávky inzulínu v 61 % případů. Nejčastěji hlášenými důvody bylo snížení rizika hypoglykemie a dodržování doporučení zdravotníků. Obavu z vynechání dávky bazálního inzulinu má 40 % českých pacientů a 35 % by mělo pocit viny, pokud by svou dávku bazálního inzulinu vynechali (u pacientů s intenzivním inzulinovým režimem je to 47 %). Pouze 60 % pacientů si uvědomuje, že vynechávání dávek bazálního inzulinu může mít negativní dopad na jejich dlouhodobý zdravotní stav. Dotazovaní lékaři měli podezření, že během pravidelných kontrol hlásí nižší počet vynechaných dávek bazálního inzulínu nebo vynechávání zcela zatajuje přibližně třetina pacientů. Tuto skutečnost však připustilo jen 11 % pacientů užívajících bazální inzulin a 15 % pacientů léčených intenzifikovaným režimem. Čtvrtina předepisujících lékařů navíc uvádí, že se svými pacienty nepravidelné užívání bazálního inzulinu během kontrol běžně neprobírá. Závěry: Ačkoli pacienti s diabetem 2. typu dodržují v České republice předepsané schéma léčby bazálním inzulinem častěji než v jiných zemích účastnících se průzkumu GAPP2TM, vynechání, časový posun a snížení dávky inzulinu je poměrně časté a ze strany zdravotníků si zasluhuje během pravidelných kontrol více pozornosti a cílenou edukaci., Objective: Irregular insulin dose is one of the main problems associated with insulin therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes; its extent is not known precisely. The aim of survey conducted in the Czech Republic in the international project GAPP2™ – Global Attitudes of Patients and Physicians was to determine the incidence and the impact of irregular use of basal insulin analogues in patients with type 2 diabetes, to point out the reasons for these irregularities and to focus on how physicians discuss irregular application of insulin with patients. Methods: The project GAPP2™ is an international cross-sectional study performed on-line via the Internet using a questionnaire filled by diabetic patients treated with insulin analogues and physicians who treat these patients. The survey was conducted in two steps in 17 countries; the first step included 6 countries and was completed in the beginning of 2012, the second step involved 11 other countries including the Czech Republic with termination in 2014. The survey was designed to obtain the views of patients and physicians on certain aspects of insulin treatment and persistent issues in this field in the real daily practice. Special focus was on the incidence and management of hypoglycaemia as well as on irregularities of insulin application. In the part dedicated to adherence to basal insulin application were observed three types of irregular insulin therapy: missed dose, time imprecision of dose (? 2 hours vs. the prescribed time) and dose reduction in all cases in the past 30 days before completing the questionnaire. In addition, it was investigated the attitude and relation of patients to these issues. Results: The results have shown that irregular insulin dose in the Czech Republic is less frequent than in other countries involved in the GAPP2™ research. Nevertheless, approximately one fifth of diabetic patients using insulin analogues in basal-bolus or only basal therapy regimen is related to this problem. The last irregular insulin application was due to missed dose in 13% of cases, time imprecision in 23% and reduction of dose in 61% of cases. The most commonly reported reason was risk reduction of hypoglycaemia and the recommendations of health professionals. Fear of missed dose is present in 40% Czech patients and 35% would feel guilty if their insulin dose is missed (up to 47% in patients with intensified insulin regimen). Only 60% patients are aware of negative impact on their long-term health after missed dose of basal insulin. Questioned doctors have suspected that the patients report lower number of missed doses during regular medical check because one third of patients doesn´t admit missed dose. However, this fact conceded only 11% of patients on basal insulin and 15% of patients on intensified insulin therapy. Quarter of prescribing doctors admit that they usually don´t discuss with patients irregularities in basal insulin treatment. Conclusion: Although, type 2 diabetes patients in the Czech Republic follow prescribed basal insulin therapy scheme more often than patients in other countries participating in the survey GAPP2 ™, missed dose, time imprecision and reduction of dose is quite common and it deserves more attention from medical side during regular medical check together with appropriate education of patients., and Martin Prázný
Dyskinetické extrapyramidové syndromy mohou vzácně vést k akutnímu zhoršení do život ohrožujícího stavu, který si vyžádá hospitalizaci na jednotce intenzivní péče, hlubokou analgosedaci a umělou plicní ventilaci. V případě neúspěšnosti symptomatické farmakologické léčby lze uvažovat o stereotaktickém neurochirurgickém výkonu (pallidotomii nebo hluboké mozkové stimulaci). V příspěvku uvádíme naše dosavadní zkušenosti se třemi pacienty, kteří v akutní fázi dyskinetického syndromu takový výkon podstoupili. U dvou dětských pacientů (12 a 6 let) pro status dystonicus s geneticky verifikovanou hereditární generalizovanou dystonií (DYT‑6 a DYT‑1) byla provedena hluboká mozková stimulace vnitřního pallida a u jedné pacientky (21 let) s Huntingtonovou nemocí byla provedena pallidotomie pro akutní zhoršení generalizované chorey s rozvojem balizmu. Přes počáteční kritický stav došlo u všech tří pacientů v odstupu 1–6 týdnů od výkonu k významnému potlačení mimovolných pohybů. Stereotaktická neurochirurgická léčba by proto měla být zvažována jako metoda volby v terapii akutních, život ohrožujících hyperkinetických stavů, kde farmakologická terapie selhala., Dyskinetic movement disorders may rarely progress to an acute life-threatening condition requiring admission to an intensive care unit, deep sedation and mechanical ventilation. Stereotactic neurosurgery (pallidotomy or deep brain stimulation) should be considered in all patients who did not respond to pharmacological treatment. We report three patients who underwent stereotactic neurosurgery due to acute dyskinetic syndrome. Two boys (12 and 6 years) with generalized hereditary dystonia (DYT-6 and DYT-1) developed status dystonicus and were treated with deep brain stimulation of the globus pallidus interna. The third patient was a 21-years-old woman with Huntington’s disease who underwent a pallidotomy due to acute worsening of generalized chorea with ballistic movements. Despite the initial critical state of all three patients, their abnormal movements significantly subsided within six weeks after the neurosurgery. The stereotactic neurosurgical procedure should be considered as the method of choice in patients with acute life-threatening hyperkinetic movement disorders that failed to improve with pharmacological treatment. Mnohočetný myelom (MM) a solitární plazmocytom (SP) jsou nejčastější primární nádory páteře. Léčba MM a SP páteře je komplexní proces, který zahrnuje léčbu kauzální s cílem potlačit nádorový klon a dále léčbu podpůrnou, jejíž součástí je i chirurgická terapie. Operace přispívají k lepší kvalitě života a nabývají na významu a smysluplnosti zejm. díky zlepšené prognóze onemocnění. Navrhli jsme algoritmus operační léčby MM a SP a ten jsme dále prospektivně ověřovali a jeho vyhodnocení bylo cílem této studie. Pacienti byli operováni v průběhu 10 let, minimální doba sledování byl jeden rok. Soubor tvořilo 32 pacientů (20 mužů a 12 žen) s průměrným věkem 61 let. Operováno bylo celkem 61 obratlů. Důvodem k operaci byly projevy útlaku míchy a progredující neurologický deficit (hodnoceno Frankelovou škálou) nebo na konzervativní léčbu nereagující axiální bolest (hodnoceno VAS; Visual Analogue Scale) páteře. Provedena byla některá z těchto operací: vertebroplastika (VP), laminektomie, transpedikulární fixace, somatektomie a jejich kombinace, nebo okcipito‑cervikální fixace. Pooperační VAS a Frankelova škála byly vyhodnoceny za jeden rok, skiagramy a MR jsme provedli a zhodnotili každý jeden rok. U žádného pacienta nenastala lokální recidiva tumoru ani selhání stabilizace na operovaném úseku v celém sledovaném období. Průměrný předoperační VAS byl 6,8 a jeden rok po operaci se průměrný VAS snížil na 1,1. Všechny operační výkony vedly nejen ke kontrole bolesti, ale také k prevenci nebo zlepšení neurologického postižení po celou dobu sledování. Hodnotili jsme náš postup – algoritmus operací, míru radikality a jejich načasování jako optimální pro MM i SP., Multiple myeloma (MM) and solitary plasmacytoma (SP) are the most frequent primary tumors of the spine. Management of the spinal MM and SP is a complex process involving causal treatment to suppress the tumor clone, as well as supportive therapy, including surgery and radiotherapy. Surgery should be considered because of its favourable effect on disease prognosis. We proposed a surgical treatment algorithm in patients with spinal MM and SP and the aim of this article is to present prospective evaluation of this algorithm. Patients undergoing surgical treatment during the past 10 years were included in this study, with the minimum follow-up of one year. A total of 32 patients (20 males and 12 females) with the mean age of 61 years were included. Surgery of 61 vertebrae was performed. The procedures were indicated for progressing neurological deficit (Frankel score) and for axial spinal pain (VAS classification). We performed the following procedures: vertebroplasty, laminectomy, transpedicular fixation, somatectomy, and their combination, or occipito-cervical fixation. Frankel score and VAS was assessed one year after the surgery and X-ray and spinal MRI was performed every year. No local relapses of the tumor or stabilization failure were detected. The mean preoperative VAS was 6.8 and improved to 1.1 one year after the surgery. During the follow up period, we observed positive effect of surgery on pain control and on prevention or improvement of neurological dysfunction. The authors concluded that all surgical procedures, the extent of resection and timing were adequate in all subjects. Kvalita ţivota je ovlivněna zdravotním stavem, který zahrnuje fyzické, psychické a sociální charakteristiky. Největším zdravotním, ale i společenským problémem současné epochy nejsou nemoci akutní, ale nemoci dlouhodobé, chronické a trvalé. Výzkum se zaměřuje na oblast sexuality u pacientů s hypertenzí, s důrazem na holistické pojetí lidské osobnosti, hlubší vnímání a proţívání sexuálního ţivota, sexuálních potřeb pacientů. Cíl: Cílem kvalitativního šetření bylo zjistit, zda léčba hypertenze ovlivňuje sexuální potřeby pacientů. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 20 respondentů, výběr zkoumaného vzorku byl záměrný, byli to pacienti, kteří se léčili pro hypertenzi minimálně 1 rok ve Fakultní nemocnici Ostrava. Výzkum byl proveden pomocí kvalitativní metody, sběr dat byl proveden rozhovorem, který byl nahráván na diktafon v příjemném, nerušeném prostředí. Ve výzkumu byla pouţita metoda barvení textu s definovanými 4 kategoriemi a podkategoriemi. Výsledky: Z analýzy rozhovorů vyplynulo, ţe u některých pacientů antihypertenzní terapie negativně ovlivnila jejich sexuální potřeby. Byl zjištěn výskyt sexuálních dysfunkcí, u ţen se jednalo o sníţený sexuální apetit, sníţenou lubrikační schopnost, delší interval k vyvrcholení a u muţe byl objeven problém s erekcí. Závěr: V rámci subjektivní spokojenosti s vlastní sexualitou u pacientů, kteří se léčí s arteriální hypertenzí je důleţitá znalost vedlejších účinků a následná edukace s vyuţitím výsledků vědeckých studií domácích i zahraničních odborníků., The quality of life is influenced by health condition, which include physical, psychological and social features. The biggest, not only medical but also social problem nowadays are not acute diseases but long-term diseases, chronical and permanent. The research is concentrated on the sphere of sexuality among patients with hypertension, with stress on holistic concept of human being, deeper perception and experiencing of sexual life and sexual needs of patients. Aim: The aim of qualitative research was to find out how the treatment of hypertension influences sexual needs of patients. Methods: Researched sample was formed by 20 respondents. The choice of researched sample was intentional. They were patients who were treated for hypertension minimally one year in University Hospital Ostrava. The choice of researched sample was intentional. The research was done by qualitative method, collection of datas was done by interview, which was recorded on voice recorder in a pleasant, by nothing disturbed place. In the research was used method of coloring the text with 4 defined categories and subcathegories. Results: From the analysis of interviews was clear that at some patients antihypertension therapy influenced their sexual needs in a negative way. There was found out the occurrence of sexual dysfunctions. Among women it was lower sexual appetite, lower lubricative ability, longer time for climax and among men was found the problem with erection. INTRODUCTION: The issue of resistance to antiplatelet therapy has raised many questions in the area of neurovascular diseases. The first objective of this work was to determine the prevalence of aspirin resistance in neurovascular patients with clinical non-responsiveness to aspirin treatment and a high-risk of atherothrombotic complications using two interpretable and independent methods (aggregation and PFA 100). The second objective was to find the correlation between both assays and to evaluate the results in groups at risk for various cerebrovascular diseases. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Laboratory tests of aspirin resistance were performed in 79 patients with clinical non-responsiveness to aspirin treatment suffering from neurovascular diseases. Patients were divided into the two groups: expected low risk for aspirin resistance due to the first manifestation of a neurovascular disease (n = 34) and expected high risk due to the second clinical manifestation of a neurovascular disease (n = 45). RESULTS: The prevalence of aspirin resistance in both groups combined as determined by the PFA-100 and CPG techniques were 50.6% and 17.7%, respectively. No correlation was found between the two techniques. CONCLUSIONS: No significant prevalence of aspirin resistance was demonstrated by either method despite the heterogeneous pathophysiological mechanisms. Cíl: Převod Testu paměti pro záměry (Memory for Intentions (Screening) Test; MIST, 2010) do české verze zahrnoval standardizaci pomůcek, převod administrace a skórování, validační studii na české populaci, aby MIST bylo možné použít na české populaci. Úvod: Konstrukt prospektivní paměti (PP), tj. schopnosti si zapamatovat a realizovat záměry, je nezbytný pro uchování soběstačnosti, vykonávání aktivit denního života. V posledních letech hraje čím dál významnější roli pro diagnostiku poruch paměti. Standardizovaná a validovaná měřítka PP však v české diagnostice chybí. Metodika: Český převod MIST jsme administrovali 30 zdravým osobám. Výsledky: Celkový skór PP v testu MIST koreloval na střední úrovni s měřítky z neuropsychologické baterie zejména s retencí v paměti, mentální flexibilitou, odolností k interferenci a premorbidní inteligenční úrovní (všechna rho = 0,37–0,42, všechna p < 0,05). Reliabilita testu MIST ve smyslu vnitřní konzistence byla u základních osmi subškál nedostatečná (α = 0,50) i ve smyslu reliability obou polovin testu (split‑half reliabilita = 0,56), avšak reliabilita šesti subškál tříděných dle typu (oddálení, vodítka a modality odpovědi) byla vysoká (α = 0,88; split‑half = 0,95). Závěr: Výsledky validační studie naznačují, že český převod MIST je srovnatelný s verzí originální. Studie zpřístupňuje standardní vyšetření PP a umožňuje měření PP na klinických populacích. Test na prospektivní paměť (MIST) a jeho administrace</a>, Aim: The goal of the present study was to validate the Czech version of the Memory for Intentions (Screening) Test (MIST, 2010). We included standardized testing material, translation of administration and scoring, and assessment of normative data for the MIST in the Czech population. Introduction: Prospective memory (PM), i.e., the ability to remember and implement intentions after a delay, is essential as a subsystem of episodic memory for the maintenance of independence and execution of activities of daily living. PM assessment thus plays an important role in the diagnosis of episodic memory disorders. However, there are currently no standardized and validated PM tools in Czech language. Methods: The Czech version of MIST was administered to 30 healthy persons. Results: The MIST Summary score correlated at a medium level with a range of neuropsychological measures including memory retention, mental flexibility, and resistance to interference (all rho = 0.37–0.42; all p < 0.05). The reliability of MIST in terms of internal consistency was insufficient when analyzing the eight individual MIST trials (α = 0.50), as was split‑half reliability (split‑half reliability = 0.56). In contrast, there was a high degree of reliability between six subscales classified by type (delay, cue and mode of response; α = 0.88, split‑half = 0.95). Conclusion: The reliability and validity of the Czech version of MIST is comparable to the original English version. Psoriasis patients are often susceptible to cardiovascular diseases (CVD), including atherosclerosis. Traditional markers (biochemical and inflammatory) and diagnostic tools could detect occlusive but not subclinical atherosclerosis. Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), has recently been recognised as a non invasive diagnostic tool for identification of premature atherosclerosis. Therefore we evaluated 80 psoriasis patients and 80 age sex matched healthy controls for serum leptin levels and apolipoprotein B/apolipoprotein A-I ratio (apoB/apoA-I ratio) in relation with CIMT of carotid artery. Carotid intima-media thickness and carotid plaques were simultaneously measured by carotid sonography. Serum concentration of leptin and apolipoprotein were measured using enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay (ELISA) and nephelometry respectively. Raised CIMT correlated to age of onset of the disease, serum leptin and apoB/apoA-I ratio in psoriasis patients. Taking into account, values that were above the 75 percentile of the three markers (leptin, apoB/apoA-I ratio and CIMT) the odds ratio was 4.26 (2.06-8.80 CI). Leptin and apoB/apoA-I ratio showed significant cumulative association with CIMT. Results of predictive analysis supports measurement of CIMT along with estimation of serum leptin and apoB/apoA-I ratio for prediction of premature atherosclerosis in psoriasis patients. and K.
