Probírá pak zkušenosti s prevencí kuřáctví a s dalších rizikových faktorů a akcentuje preventivní aktivity vycházející ze specifických lokálních podmínek., The author agrees with the opinions of Professor Kotulán apropos the pitfalls of the upcoming Health 2020 programme, as published in Hygiena no. 2/2015. He points out further related aspects, in particular the fact that there are very few old-school physicians active in the public health service which as such is to be a major contributor to the realisation of the programme. The commentary mentions the main specializations of doctors in public health, discusses experiences with prevention of smoking and other risk factors and emphasizes the importance of preventive activity based on specific local conditions., František Kotěšovec, and Literatura
Specifickou roli zde pak má plánované užívání kyseliny listové v perikoncepčním období, které je celosvětově doporučováno jako prevence vzniku poruch uzávěru neurální trubice., Congenital anomalies are an important diagnostic group in the perinatal healthcare. Only some of these anomalies have an individual cause (complex anomalies accompanying chromosomal aberrations, congenital anomalies with monogenic inheritance, typical anomalies caused by strong teratogens etc.). The majority of cases of congenital anomalies is caused by multiple and complex factors that are hard to identify. Therefore – the so called primary prevention of congenital anomalies becomes much more important during last years. Primary prevention of congenital anomalies itself is composed of various guidelines and recommendations that should prevent the formation of the anomaly. Specific role in the primary prevention has the folic acid supplementation that is world-wide recommended as the prevention of neural tube defects., Antonín Šípek jr., Vladimír Gregor, Antonín Šípek, Pavel Calda, and Literatura
Cieľ: Cieľom práce bolo posúdenie výskytu stresu, stresujúcich situácií, stratégií zvládania stresu a prediktorov stresu u sestier pracujúcich na oddeleniach anestéziológie a intenzívnej medicíny (OAIM). V sledovanom súbore bol zaznamenaný iba zriedkavý výskyt stresu, pričom relevantné hodnoty stresu boli zistené najmä vo fyzickej a emocionálnej oblasti. Najviac vyskytujúcimi sa ochoreniami u tejto skupiny sestier boli bolesti chrbtice, migrény, vysoký krvný tlak a poruchy menštruačného cyklu. Najviac stresujúco na sestry pôsobili: pracovná záťaž, najmä nedostatok personálu, smrť a umieranie pacienta a pracovné prostredie (hlavne neadekvátne vybavenie). Sestry v stresových situáciách využívali viac príklonové – aktívne stratégie zvládania stresu – riešenie problému, sociálnu oporu a kognitívnu reštrukturalizáciu. Vhodným postupom sa javia aj tréningy zamerané na manažment a zvládanie stresu na individuálnej úrovni., Aim: The objective of this study was to assess the prevalence of stress, stressful situations, coping strategies and stress predictors of stress in nurses working in departments of anaesthesiology and intensive medicine (OAIM). Methods: The study used a standardized questionnaire – Coping Strategies Inventory and questionnaire of own design aimed to assess stress and stressful situations. For data processing were used descriptive statistical methods and linear regression analysis. The results were processed for statistical significance level α ≤ 0.05. Results: The survey was attended by 42 nurses working on OAIM from Eastern Slovakia with an average age of 35.6 years and average length of practice on OAIM 11.5 years. Overall, we observed only rare occurrence of stress in the study sample, whereas relevant values of stress were particularly in the physical and emotional area. The most occurring diseases in this group of nurses were back pain, migraines, high blood pressure and impairment of menstrual cycle. The highest stressful influence on nurses was: workload (particularly staff shortages), death and dying patient and working environment (especially inadequate equipment). In stressful situations nurses use more active stress coping strategies – problem solving, social support and cognitive restructuring. Workload and the use of passive coping strategies have proved to be significant predictors of stress. These variables explained 30% of the variability of stress in nurses working on OAIM. Conclusion: The results show that the optimal way to reduce stress is to ensure adequate nurse staffing. Training focused on stress management at the individual level seems to be an appropriate solution to reduce stress., Mária Sováriová Soósová, Anna Varadyová, and Literatura
