Článek pojednává o jedné nepříliš známé epizodě z dějin československého exilu. V roce historicky významného druhého sjezdu Svazu československých spisovatelů, jehož někteří účastníci poprvé od roku 1948 veřejně vystoupili proti represivní praxi komunistické kulturní politiky, se v Paříži konalo také setkání literátů žijících v exilu. Uspořádala je Česká kulturní rada v zahraničí, založená a řízená básníkem, literárním kritikem a nakladatelem Robertem Vlachem (1917–1966). Takzvaného Sjezdu Kulturní rady se zúčastnili mimo jiné spisovatelé Jan Čep, František Listopad, Jaroslav Strnad, Jan M. Kolár a další. Hlavními tématy sjezdových vystoupení i následujících diskusí byla východiska, možnosti a postavení umělce v exilu (František Listopad, Pavel Želivan), reflexe nejnovějšího společenského a kulturně-politického vývoje v Československu (Jaroslav Jíra) i možnosti a limity komunikace s domácí čtenářskou obcí po hypotetickém návratu exulantů do vlasti (Jan Čep). Jednání Sjezdu Kulturní rady lze podle autora považovat za vrchol kulturních aktivit českého exilu první poloviny padesátých let minulého století. and This article is a discussion of a lesser-known episode in the history of Czechoslovak émigrés. In 1956, the year of the historically important Second Congress of the Czechoslovak Writers’ Union, some of whose participants spoke out against the repressive aspects of Communist policy on the arts for the first time, a meeting of Czechoslovak émigré writers was held in Paris. It was organized by the Arts Council of Czechs Abroad, which was founded and run by the poet, literary critic, and publisher Robert Vlach (1917–1966). Called the “Arts Council Congress,” it was attended, for example, by Jan Čep (1902–1974), František Listopad (born Jiří Synek, 1921), Jaroslav Strnad (1918–2000), and Jan M. Kolár (1923–1978). The principal topics of the congress speeches and discussions were the starting point, possibilities, and position of the artist in exile (given by Pavel Želivan, b. 1925, and Listopad), reflections on the most recent social, cultural, and political developments in Czechoslovakia (Jaroslav Jíra, 1929–2005), and the possibilities and limits of communication with readers at home after the hypothetical return of émigrés to their native country (a speech given by Čep). The congress sessions, the author argues, can reasonably be considered the height of work in the arts amongst the Czech émigrés in the first half of the 1950s.

Autor je přesvědčen, že termíny „totalitární“ ani „autoritářský“ nepopisují dost přesně Československo po roce 1969. Skutečnost, že česká společnost nedokázala najít výstižné pojmenování pro režim v období „normalizace“, nepředstavuje podle něj pouze problém pro kolektivní paměť či kulturu vzpomínání, ale bylo také příčinou mnoha špatných rozhodnutí o budoucí orientaci politiky transformace v devadesátých letech. Zastánci tvrzení, že zde v sedmdesátých a osmdesátých letech vládl totalitární režim, totiž považovali socialistický stát za nepřiměřeně silný a požadovali, aby byl rozsah vládních pravomocí podstatně omezen; na druhé straně stoupenci názoru, že po „pražském jaru“ byl v Československu nastolen spíše autoritářský režim, podceňují míru narušení společenských struktur. Obě strany podporovaly co nejrychlejší ekonomickou transformaci, přičemž bylo zanedbáno vytvoření plnohodnotného právního řádu. Nedostatečné fungování právního řádu pak umožnilo aktérům „šedé“ a „černé“ ekonomiky, aby si udrželi kontrolu nad svým kapitálem i v době po převratu. Mnozí z nich pak dokázali legalizovat a dále rozmnožit svůj pochybně nabytý majetku, což vedlo k výraznému úpadku důvěry společnosti v novou demokracii. and The author is convinced that neither ‘totalitarian’ nor ‘authoritarian’ sufficiently describe Czechoslovakia after 1969. The fact that Czechs do not know quite how to classify the ‘normalization’ régime is interpreted here not only as constituting a problem for the culture of remembrance, but also as the cause of many wrong decisions having been made concerning the future orientation of the transformation policy in the 1990s, with exponents of the thesis of a totalitarian régime supposing that the Socialist state had been excessively strong, and demanding that the scope of governmental action be considerably restricted, and with representatives of the idea that following the ‘Prague Spring’ there had been a rather authoritarian régime in Czechoslovakia, underestimating, on the other hand, the degree to which social structures had been destroyed. Both sides advocated that economic transformation should be carried out as quickly as possible, while neglecting the proper establishment of the rule of law. This shortcoming made it possible for actors of the grey and black markets to maintain control of their capital into period after the change in régimes. They were even able to safeguard their assets by legal means, and often even to make them grow. The result is that society has lost much of its trust in the new democracy.

2’(3’)-0-[N- [2- [3- [5-fluoresceinyl] thioureido] ethyl] carbamoyl] adenosine 5’-triphosphate (FEDA-ATP), a spectroscopic tool used for studying skeletal muscle myosin ATPase subfragment 1, was applied to Na+/K+- ATPase (EC 3.6.1.37). In contrast to the myosin subfragment, we found that FEDA-ATP is not a substrate for Na + /K + -ATPase. On the other hand, FEDA-ATP showed an affinity for both the low (E2, K<j = 2001MM) and the high (Ei, Kd = 22,«M) affinity ATP-binding sites. When the microscopic affinities of FEDA-ATP were used for calculating the macroscopic affinity in the overall reaction according to Kj = (KdEl*KdE2)1/2, the experimentally measured inhibition constant of 66,wM was obtained. To evoke irreversible binding inhibitors, FEDA-ATP was transferred in its chromium (III) and cobalt(III) complex analogs, which are suitable tools for labelling the ATP binding sites of Na + /K+ -ATPase in a specific way.
