Východiska: Impulzem k realizaci retrospektivní analýzy historických dokumentů byla práce britské autorky Susan McGannové o organizaci mezinárodních ošetřovatelských kurzů v Londýně ve dvacátých a třicátých letech 20. století, jichž se pravidelně účastnily diplomované sestry z Československa. Cíl: Doložit na příkladu zahraničních zkušeností československých diplomovaných sester z let 1920–1938 genezi některých dnešních aktuálních problémů v ošetřovatelství (transformace vzdělávání nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků, otázka kompetencí všeobecných sester). Metody: Práce je založena na obsahové analýze článků a drobných zpráv publikovaných na stránkách dvou pro rozvoj ošetřovatelské profese v období první republiky klíčových odborných časopisů. Záměrem bylo projít všech 17 ročníků, tj. 204 čísel Zpráv Československého červeného kříže vydávaných v letech 1920–1936 a 8 ročníků, tj. 96 čísel Československé nemocnice z let 1931–1938. Výsledky: Výzkum prokázal intenzivní zahraniční styky československých diplomovaných sester na několika úrovních (mezinárodní kurzy, konference, jednání mezinárodních ošetřovatelských organizací, působení zahraničních sester v Československu, překlady odborných publikací), jež byly finančně podpořeny Československým červeným křížem, Ligou Červených křížů, Americkým červeným křížem a Rockefellerovou nadací. I když první ošetřovatelská škola v Praze byla původně budována podle zásad uplatňovaných na ošetřovatelské škole ve Vídni a československé sestry udržovaly po celé sledované období osobní i korespondenční styky s kolegyněmi z různých zemí světa, ukázalo se, že klíčová pro získávání nových zkušeností v oblasti ošetřovatelství byla orientace na angloamerické prostředí. Mimořádný význam měly zejména mezinárodní odborné kurzy pořádané na Bedford College a Royal College of Nursing v Londýně. Závěry: Obsahová analýza vybraných návrhů na prosazení změn, jež byly projednávány na mezinárodních ošetřovatelských konferencích v meziválečném období, se ukazuje jako inspirativní i pro současné diskuse o transformaci vzdělávání a vymezení kompetencí všeobecných sester., Background: e study has been inspired by the paper of Susan McGann who discusses the international courses organized in London in the 1920s and 1930s, in which nurses from Czechoslovakia regularly participated. Aim: Using the experiences of Czechoslovak nurses abroad from 1920–1938, to give evidence of the origins of some topical problems in present nursing (the transformation of education for paramedical staff, the question of nurse competencies). Methods: e paper is based on the content analysis of articles and short reports published in two main Czechoslovak professional journals of the period: Reports of Czechoslovak Red Cross/Zprávy Československého červeného kříže (in total 204 issues from 1920–1936) and Czechoslovak Hospital/Československá nemocnice (in total 96 issues from 1931–1938). Results: Research has proved intensive foreign contacts of Czechoslovak nurses on several levels (international courses, conferences, meetings of the international nursing organizations, activities of foreign nurses in Czechoslovakia, translations of professional publications), supported by the Czechoslovak Red Cross, the League of Red Cross Societies, the American Red Cross and the Rockefeller Foundation. Even when the first nursing school in Prague was established according to principles used at the school in Vienna and even when Czechoslovak nurses kept personal and correspondence contacts with colleagues from different countries of the world during the whole searched period, the orientation to the Anglo-American milieu proved to be crucial for gaining new experience in the field of nursing. Particularly the courses organized at Bedford College and Royal College of Nursing in London were of special importance. The benefits of implementing interprofessional and teambased programs are well recognized. However, for interprofessional education to be effective and broadly implemented, the health professions, policymakers, insurers, academic institutions, health care providers, and regulatory bodies should embrace and adopt a new, interprofessional education framework. These stakeholders should create a shared value and vision for interprofessional health professions education, research, and practice. This vision should be patientoriented and contain a measurable component across the entire educational continuum, from admission into a health professional program through retirement. Such a framework would maximize and value the strengths of individual professions in the integrated delivery of high quality care. Finally, in creating a successful model, a series of questions should be considered: how best can team competence be measured, how should individual behavioral changes be documented when we think of individual rather than teamlevel changes, how do we create and measure performance criteria based on shared understanding and experience in the practice setting? Within academic settings, there are more specific barriers including a lack of administrative support, financial and human resources for interprofessional education, conflicts in schedules and health professions curricula, and limitations to the time required to plan and implement faculty development for interprofessional learning. Finally, despite progress, there remain regulatory and professional barriers to achieving full and meaningful implementation of effective models. Inversion of uterus is very rare and serious complication of childbirth. It is a situation with very high maternal morbidity and mortality, whitch can lead to developement of very serious periparthal bleeding, DIC, neurogenic and haematologic shock. In 50% without any risk factor. This case report demonstrates this acute case which was caused by then physiologic partus until then and it shoud demonstrate some eventuality to solve this emergent situation including the method used in this case - partially successful reposition attempt of uterus using vaginal path and resulting laparotomia., Inverze dělohy je velmi závažnou a naštěstí poměrně vzácnou komplikací III. doby porodní. Jedná se o stav s vysokou mateřskou morbiditou i mortalitou, při němž může velmi snadno dojít ke vzniku život ohrožujícího krvácení, diseminované intravaskulární koagulopatie a rozvoji hemoragického a neurogenního šoku. V 50 % případů vzniká bez jakéhokoli rizikového faktoru. Pozitivní psychologie je dnes nejpopulárnějším psychologickým oborem. Ačkoliv se zdá, že výsledky vědeckého výzkumu jasně prokázaly užitečnost pozitivního přístupu, ne všechny studie jsou tak jednoznačné. V některých studiích se prokázala marnost všeobjímajícího pozitivního přístupu a dokonce značný benefit vyplývající z pesimismu. Poznatky týkající se našeho evolučního nastavení spíše naznačují, že jedinci s přecitlivělostí k nebezpečí ergo k negativním aspektům svého okolí jsou lépe vybaveni pro přežití. Účelem tohoto článku je porovnat výsledky současného výzkumu spolu s nejnovějšími poznatky z evoluční psychologie, a tak přispět k vyrovnanějšímu náhledu na tvrzení pozitivní psychologie., The positive psychology is among currently dynamically evolving psychological approaches. Its ‘positive’ effects have been veri- fied in research. While some recent research projects suggest that there are limits to the approach. Hydatid disease is caused by tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus. E. granulosus forms hydatid cysts in human body, mostly in the liver and the lung. However, isolated primary hydatid cyst of the pancreas is rarely seen. Hereby, we report a 40-year-old Caucasian female with a hydatid cyst in the body of the pancreas. The patient, complaining of vague abdominal pain was examined with abdominal ultrasound. The ultrasound scan of abdomen revealed an exophytic cystic lesion in the body of the pancreas, approximately 7.5x5 cm in size. The defined lesion was thought to be compatible with hydatid cyst stage 4-5. The surgical team informed the patient about all possible treatment options. The patient was put on albendazole treatment, 400 mg twice daily, for two months. Despite the medical treatment, the patient complained about abdominal pain and discomfort affecting her daily life. Therefore, she decided for surgical intervention. Following the intraoperative application of scolicidal hypertonic 20% NaCl solution, partial cystectomy with capitonnage was performed. The patient did well postoperatively.
