Výzkum se zaměřil na možné vztahy mezi lhaním a emoční inteligencí mezi respondenty v České republice. Emoční inteligence souvisí se sebeklamem a detekcí lži, ale její vztah k lhaní zatím dostatečně zkoumán nebyl. Celkem 112 respondentů vyplnilo dotazník pro analýzu klamavého chování a test emoční inteligence TEIQue. ANOVA a regresní analýza ukázaly signifikantní rozdíly ve lhoucím chování, které mohou být ovlivněny globálním rysem emoční inteligence nebo well-being. Výsledky naznačují, že respondenti s nižší emoční inteligencí říkají méně lží a lžou častěji dospělým než dětem. Výzkum může být přínosný pro intervence v pedagogické a forenzní psychologii nebo v rodinné terapii a může pomoci v porozumění proměnným ovlivňujícím klamavé chování. and This study is focused on finding a possible relation between deception and emotional intelligence among respondents in the Czech Republic. Emotional intelligence is related to self-deception and detection of lying, yet there is not enough information on its possible relation to lying behavior itself. A deception behavior survey and the TEIQue inventory were used to analyse deception characteristics and emotional intelligence among 112 respondents. ANOVA and regression analysis revealed significant differences in lying behavior, which might be influenced by the global trait of emotional intelligence or well-being. Results suggest that respondents with lower emotional intelligence use less lies and tend to lie to adults more often than to children. These results might be beneficial for interventions in pedagogical or forensic psychology or in family therapy and can improve our understanding of variables affecting lying behavior.
The article discusses the relationship between educational attainment and the existence of cohabitation in the Czech Republic. Cohabitation of unmarried partners is a timely topic given a constant growth of this form of relationship in the Czech society, which almost tripled between the years 1991 and 2011. Based on data from the ISSP 2012 quantitative survey, the article seeks to demonstrate whether the educational attainment of an individual or his/her partner is associated with whether or not they cohabitate. Cohabitation is juxtaposed to marriage as well as to living-apart-together relationships, with partners living in different households. Where methodologically feasible, the findings are verified on data from the
following surveys: European Value Study 2008, Our Society 2012 and European Social Survey 2012. However, most of the analyses rely exclusively on the more robust dataset of ISSP 2012. When split into the different categories of relationship and educational attainment, the other datasets analyzed did not provide sufficient samples for the necessary analyses.
The article builds on the socioeconomic Rational Choice Theory (Becker) and normative theory (Inglehart, Van de Kaa). RCT is primarily applied to the relationship between education and postponing marriage or cohabitation, while normative theory provides a perspective on the effect of education-related values on alternative relationship preferences or the decision never to marry.
In the analysis, we first verify whether educational attainment affects an individual’s relationship form (cohabitation vs. marriage). To determine the association between specific variables, we applied the chi-square test of independence (for the education variable recoded into three categories) and the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U Test (for the original scale variable). We were unable to confirm an immediate relationship between education and cohabitation in either of the datasets analyzed – the same results were attained when the analysis was replicated on EVS 2008, Our Society March 2012 and
ESS 2012 data. The authors suggest two possible interpretations of this finding. First, the perceived difference between long-term cohabitation and marriage is gradually decreasing in the Czech Republic. This argument is supported by the use of the term “de-facto marriage” as an equivalent of cohabitation in the Czech context. The second possible interpretation is based on the effect of factors that motivate both low-education and higher-education individuals to postpone marriage, namely lack of funds among the former and preference of education and career among the latter.
In the second part of the analysis, we study the relationship between educational attainment and cohabitation versus living-apart-together relationships. We tested the relationship using the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U Test on the original scale education variable. The analysis was performed on unmarried (divorced, widowed or single) individuals who have a partner. A difference was observed in the group of divorced cohabiters, where more educated individuals are less likely to share a household with their partner. In contrast, higher-income single partners are more likely to share a household. However, the relationship with education could not be verified for the latter group.
To sum up, the analysis reveals that single (younger) higher-income respondents are more likely to cohabit because they can afford sharing a household with their partner. In contrast, divorced (older) higher-income respondents are more likely to live in single-member households. This finding is primarily associated with respondent age, while education probably only takes effect in older age. In both groups, only the relationship with income, not education, was observed because divorced individuals are older than singles, on average.
V této studii se autor zaměřuje na tři okruhy problémů, které pozoruje v oblasti přímé ambulantní péče o duševní zdraví v souvislosti s nemocí covid-19. Jedná se o problematiku: 1) neuropsy-chologických deficitů; 2) úzkostných a afektivních poruch; 3) psychotických poruch. K dosavadním přehledovým studiím z posledního roku se snaží doplnit pozorování z vlastní klinicko-psychologické praxe a upozornit na nutnost přípravy a dostatečné kapacity zdravotních služeb v oblasti péče o duševní zdraví., In this study, the author focuses on three areas of problems that are observed in the direct ambulatory care of mental health in connection with COVID-19 disease. These are the issues of: 1) neuropsychological deficits; 2) anxiety and affective disorders; 3) psychotic disorders. The objective of this study was to assess genotypic variation in soybean chlorophyll (Chl) content and composition, and to test if these data could be used as a rapid screening method to predict genotypic variation in leaf tissue N content. Chl contents and composition were examined among 833 soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) accessions and related to SPAD meter readings and leaf N content. In the initial year of the study (2002), the relationship between leaf Chl and leaf N contents (r 2 = 0.043) was not sufficiently close for Chl to be useful as a predictive tool for leaf N content. Therefore, leaf N content was not determined in 2004 but samples were again collected for determination of Chl content and composition. In 2002, the soybean accessions separated into two distinct groups according to leaf Chl a/b ratios, with the majority of a mean ratio of 3.79. However, approximately 7 % (60) of the genotypes could be readily assigned to a group with a mean Chl a/b ratio of 2.67. Chl a/b analyses in 2004 confirmed the results obtained in 2002 and of 202 genotypes, all but 6 fell into the same group as in 2002. and F. B. Fritschi, J. D. Ray.
Soybean [Glycine max (L.) cv. Jack] grown in open top chambers under controlled laboratory and field conditions was ušed to study the acclimation of leaf gas exchange processes to CO2 enrichment. Air inside the open top chambers was maintained at either 700-800 or 350-400 pmol(C02) mol'^(air). Leaf gas exchange rates were measured for some plants switched between treatments. When measmed in the C02-emiched atmosphere, stomatal conductances (gg) were higher in leaves grown in C02-enriched atmospheres than in those grown under ambient conditions, and the lower gg values for plants in the C02-enriched atmospheres were limiting to leaf net photosynthetic CO2 exchange rates (Pn). of enriched leaves was higher than those of the ambient Controls when measured at elevated CO2 levels in both controlled environment and field studies, while it was depressed in enriched leaves when measured imder ambient CO2 conditions, and this drop in Pn did not recover until 6-15 d after plants were placed back in ambient conditions.
