- The article presents results of peculiarities of the hepatobiliary system in pregnant women with preeclampsia. It is set in the pregnant with preeclampsia of mild severity the frequency and combination of two and more complaints was reliably lower comparing to the frequency and combination of complaints in the pregnant with preeclampsia of mean severity. It must be mentioned that the received laboratory data positively correlated with the clinical manifestations of hepatobiliary dysfunction and the level of severity of preeclampsia that makes the further scientific researches necessary in future. Závěr: Apendicitida v těhotenství je spojována se zvýšenou mateřskou a fetální morbiditou. Perforace apendixu přispívá ke zvýšenému riziku dalších komplikací, které zahrnují např. předčasný porod, abort a mateřské komplikace, zejména infekční. Včasná diagnóza s následnou operací může snížit mateřskou i fetální morbiditu., Objective: To draw attention to the issue of appendicitis in pregnancy. Design: Case report. Case report: We present a case study in the form of a case of occurrence of appendicitis with peritonitis in 27 weeks pregnancy. And describes the birth and childbed, which is complicated by infectious complications. Conslusion: Appendicitis in pregnancy is associated with increased maternal and fetal morbidity and even more in case of peritonitis. Delay surgical intervention correlates with increased risk of perforation, which contributes to the increase of other complications, including premature birth, abortion and maternal complications. - Endocrine disruptors (EDs) are known to have harmful effects on the human endocrine system; special effort is actually given to the exposure during pregnancy. Humans are usually exposed to a mixture of EDs, which may potentiate or antagonize each other, and the combined effect may be difficult to estimate. The main phthalate monoesters monoethyl-, mono-n -butyl-, monoisobutyl-, monobenzyl-, mono-(2-ethylhexyl)-, mono-(2- ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl)- and mono-(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl) phthalate were determined in 18 maternal (37th week of pregnancy) and cord plasma samples using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Previously determined levels of selected bisphenols, parabens and steroids were also considered in this study. In cord blood, there were significantly higher mono-n-butyl phthalate levels than in maternal blood (p=0.043). The results of multiple regression models showed that maternal plasma phthalates were negatively associated with cord plasma androstenedione, testosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone and positively associated with estradiol and estriol. For estriol, a cumulative association was also observed for Σbisphenols. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first pilot study evaluating the effect of prenatal exposure by multiple EDs on newborn steroidogenesis. Our results confirmed phthalate accumulation in the fetal area and disruption of fetal steroidogenesis. - Cíl práce: Shrnout dosavadní výsledky získané v diagnostice toxoplazmózy pomocí metody polymerázová řetězová reakce na našem pracovišti. Materiál a metody: Byl vyšetřován různý biologický materiál od pacientů. K izolaci DNA byly použity dva komerční kity: QIAamp DNA Mini kit a QIAamp DNA Blood Mini kit (QIAGEN, Německo). Pro amplifi kaci byla vybrána oblast genu TGR1E. Konvenční polymerázová řetězová reakce byla prováděna na přístroji Peltier Thermal Cycler. Výsledky: V období od roku 2005 do března 2008 bylo vyšetřeno celkem 337 biologických vzorků od 222 pacientů. DNA Toxoplasma gondii byla detekována u pěti pacientů. Závěr: Polymerázová řetězová reakce je důležitou metodou pro stanovení diagnózy toxoplazmóza u rizikových skupin pacientů (gravidní ženy a imunodefi citní pacienti)., Objective: The aim of the work was to summarize results obtained in the diagnostics of toxoplasmosis by a method of polymerase chain reaction in our workplace. Material and methods: Various biological materials were examined. DNA was isolated by QIAamp DNA Mini kit and QIAamp DNA Blood Mini kit. For amplifi cation TGR1E was selected and conventional polymerase chain reaction was performed on Peltier Thermal Cycler instrument. Results: 337 biological samples from 222 patients were examined from 2005 to March 2008. Toxoplasma gondii DNA was detected in fi ve patients.
