Spony získané z oppidálního prostředí ukazují na jejich rámcové datování do rozmezí stupňů LT C2-D1. and The existing distribution of a distinct type of bronze fibula of the Middle La Tène construction with a decorated plate bow is restricted to Central Europe, with a pronounced concentration of finds in Bohemia and Moravia. This fact justifies their designation as “Boiian” fibulae, as proposed by J. Werner. The fibulae acquired from oppida indicate a general dating in the phases LT C2-D1.
Doposud evidovaných 424 mincí lze rozdělit do tří skupin: domácí keltské, cizí keltské a jiné (antické) ražby. and Information regarding a new settlement site in central Moravia, which appeared at the end of the LT B2 phase and flourished in the LT C1-2, when occupation ended. The finds indicate that this was an important production and trading centre of supra-regional importance, comparable to the nearby oppidum at Staré Hradisko, to which it is related in time. Unlike Staré Hradisko, with its strong links above all to the Bohemia Boii territory, the site of Němčice displays a marked relationship with the Danube basin, with contacts to Slovene and northern Italian territories. The cause underlying the successive existence of the two power centres, with their conspicuously different supra-regional ties, is most likely associated with the major historical changes that took place at the close of the 2nd century BC, with the influx of Germanic tribes into what are now the Czech Lands. This site has yielded what is thus far the largest and, in terms of composition, most significant collection of La Tène coins not only from Moravia but from anywhere on the Middle Danube. The 424 coins identified thus far can be divided into three groups: domestic Celtic, foreign Celtic and other (ancient) mintings.
An extraordinary cutlass handle from Němčice. Materials collected at a new site in Moravia unearthed the oldest La Tène period horizon (B2), and yielded finds of brooches, various rings and other items typical for the beginning of the so-called “plastic” style of the first half of the third century BC. Of these, an ornamental cutlass handle stood out in particular. This category of items is entirely unique with its relief decoration of both parts cast over the iron tang using the lost-wax casting method. The closest analogy in terms of style can be found either at Bohemian-Moravian finds, or further at Mezek, Bulgaria, or art works from the Paris area, which are linked to the movement of Celts at the time of the Balkan campaigns in 280 BC. This is apparently a local product offering significant testimony on the key role of Moravia in the rise and spread of new artistic expression. Together with the other finds of “plastic” style, it points to the first half of the third century BC as the date of the beginning of the Němčice agglomeration.
