Proběhl zásluhou úspěšného propojení matematicky obtížných a časově náročných výpočtů ve Francii, Anglii a krátkého pozorování v Německu., The discovery of planet Neptune is one of the greatest events in the history of celestian mechanics. Le Verrier and simultaneously Adam applied inverse perturbation theory to the problem of Uranus, whose irregularities in motion could be used for determination of the orbit and mass of a yet unknown planet. These very complicated computations were successfully finished in summer 1846. Neptune was discovered by Johann Galle using le Verrier‘s predictions in September of the same year proving that the mathematical methods and numerical calculations were not fundamentally flawed. Therefore, dicovery of Neptune cannot be considered as accidental., and Vladimír Štefl.
The book entitled "Assayer" published in 1623 was a controversial text about the theory of comets between Galileo and his opponent Horatio Grassi, the Jesuit mathematician. Galileo was an author of the original but false optical theory of comets while Grassi proposed a supra-lunar origin of comets supporting Tycho's opinion on comets and their motion. Unfortunately, Grassi's theory was based on a misunderstanding of how the telescope actually works., Vladimír Štefl., and Obsahuje bibliografii
Keplerův spis Astronomia nova představuje jedno z nejvýznamnějších astronomických děl všech dob. Obsahuje odvození vztahů, jimž dnes říkáme první a druhý Keplerův zákon pohybu planet. Kepler zde uplatnil nový přístup k astronomii, fyzice a vesmíru vůbec, když vyšetřoval eliptickou dráhu, po níž se Mars pohybuje kolem Slunce. Vysvětlení pohybu Marsu pojal nejen geometricky, ale využil i fyzikální magnetickou hypotézu., Kepler's Astronomia nova is one of the most important astronomical texts ever written. It contains what are known today as Kepler's first two laws of planetary motion. Kepler created a new approach to astronomy, physics of the heavens, based upon an examination of the motion of Mars, which is moving around the Sun on an elliptical path. The interpretation of the motion of Mars was not based only on geometrical demonstrations but also on a physical magnetic hypothesis., Vladimír Štefl., and Obsahuje bibliografii
One of the most difficult problems of celestial mechanics was the interpretation of irregularities of motion of Jupiter and Saturn. Kepler observed a decreasing mean motion for Saturn and an increasing one for Jupiter. Newton's first treatment of this phenomenon was fundamentally qualitative. Euler derived, from the inverse-square law of gravitation, differential equations for the perturbations. Subsequently, he introduced an analytical method known as the variation of orbital elements., Vladimír Štefl., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
Současně Flamsteed stanovil paralaxu Marsu užitím metody denní paralaxy a obdržel stejný výsledek., Cassini and Richer measured the parallax shift position of Mars relative to nearby stars during opposition form two points on the Earth (Paris, Cayenne) in 1672. Subsequently Cassini found the parallax of Mars by the meridian method and computed the distance from the Earth to Mars and the Sun. Flamsteed determined the parallax of Mars using the method of diurnal parallax with the same result simultaneously., Vladimír Štefl., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
Astronomia nova is a book, published in 1609, which contains the results of the astronomer Johannes Kepler. The author used precise celestial measurements of Mars carried out by Tycho Brahe and calculated various models for approximation of the orbit of Mars. This article concentrates on two unsatisfactory hypothetical models for the orbit, which preceded the correct elliptical model. The first was the vicarious hypothesis, which predicted precise longitudes well within observational accuracy, but with inaccurate distances to the Sun. Secondly, Kepler proposed the oval hypothesis, which led to errors at the octants., Vladimír Štefl., and Obsahuje bibliografické odkazy
Článek komentuje a rozebírá původní podobu Keplerových zákonů podle Nové astronomie [1] a Harmonie světa [2] a porovnává ji s jejich formulací v soudobé gymnaziální učebnici [3] a vysokoškolských učebnicích úvodních kurzů fyziky [4, 5]. Záměrem článku je posoudit, zda obsahová rozdílnost historického textu a moderních učebnicových je věcně zásadní. V článku je dále shromážděn materiál pro historický přístup k výkladu Keplerových zákonů ve výuce fyziky., This article analysis the original historical text of Astronomia nova and Harmonies of the World. Kepler derives, by geometrical considerations of observational data of Mars and physical magnetic hypothesis, the elliptical law and the areas law. The harmonic law, which Kepler recognized, allows the relative sizes of two orbits to be gauged from comparison of their periods. Kepler‘s laws acted as a bridge for crossing from geometry to astronomy and from kinematics to dynamics. In this contribution, we present the content of textbooks at high schools and introductory courses of physics at university level in the topic of Kepler‘s laws., Vladimír Štefl., and Obsahuje bibliografické odkazy
The Moon is our nearest celestial body, small variations of its motion are easy to observe. Ptolemy described the ecliptic longitude inequality in lunar motion, now known as the evection. From Ptolemy to the time of Newton the motion of the Moon was determined using kinematic models. The first qualitative dynamic model was published in Principia, where Newton showed that evection is a periodic inequality caused by the attraction of the Sun., Vladimír Štefl., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
