In the paper it is circumscribed the history of research and development optical workshop of Academy of Sciences CR in Turnov from its foundation in 1965 up to nowdays when workshop is incorporate as a field workplace and independent department of Institute of Plasma Physics AS CR in Prague.
This paper highlighs the contribution of Philipp Lenard (Nobel Prize winner 1905) to the understanding of luminescence and reviews his main results in the field. From 1967 till 2009 there was in the Czechoslovakia and later in the Czech Republic held an international exhibition of photo technique - Interkamera. Its meaning was beyond the borders of the state and it becomes an important place for meeting of experts and amateurs. and V letech 1967 až 2009 se v Československu a později v České republice konala mezinárodní výstava fotografické techniky Interkamera. Svým významem přesáhla hranice státu a stala se významným místem setkávání odborníků i laické veřejnosti.
