Double-regulated vertical axial water turbine with conical distributor, which is worldwide known as a Saxo-type turbine, is the main subject of this paper. Due to continuous research, development and improvement, advance and compact structure, simplified civil construction works, reliability, ecological design and versatile applicability, the turbine became very recognizable product of company Litostroj Power, with over 30 successfully commissioned units in North American and Canadian market mainly. Authors see the Saxo turbine as one of the most interesting and suitable solutions for small and medium size hydro power plants. This paper aims to draw attention on this unique and interesting turbine design especially because experiences show that hydro power plant investors are somehow conservative and they mainly prefer and trust in more conventional turbine types i.e. Kaplan turbines and tubular turbines. The paper enlightens important design, hydraulic, economic and operation advantages of the Saxo-type turbines and points out most obvious advantages comparing to tubular and Kaplan type turbines. As an evidence of safe and reliable operation, there is a special section at the end of the paper which is focused on field-feedback experiences obtained during exptensive turbine testing at commissioning tests, final field performance acceptance tests and operation experiences. and Obsahuje seznam literatury
A unifying picture to the hermeneutical approach to schizophrenia is given by combining the philosophical and the experimental/computational approaches. Computational models of associative learning and recall in the cortico-hippocampal system helps to understand the circuits of normal and pathological behavior.
The paper deals with mathematical modelling and computer simulation of the seismic response of chosen components of hte nuclear WWER 1999 reactor. The seismic response is investigated by numerical integration method in time domain. The seismic excitation is given by two horizontal and one vertical synthetic accelerograms at the level of the pressure vessel seating adjusted for a certain damping vallue 5 %. The main aim of the paper is seismic response assessment for two variants of nuclear fuel assemblies - VVANTAGE 6 and TVSA-T. The maximal values of displacements and linkages or component deformations are compared for both fuel assembly variants. and Obsahuje seznam literatury
The attempt at derrivation of a semantic structure that was stamped on texts by their producers is based on so-called denotative text analysis. This time, the obejct of analysis is Otoman lyric poems. The main aim is of a linguistic nature. The utility of the method is proved by semantics of the texts, which is evidently highly complex, through analysis in the other direction - from linguistics to literary products - has not been completely neglected.
We prove that the semirings of 1-preserving and of 0,1-preserving endomorphisms of a semilattice are always subdirectly irreducible and we investigate under which conditions they are simple. Subsemirings are also investigated in a similar way.
Due to the fact that in the case $q>1$ the $q$-Bernstein polynomials are no longer positive linear operators on $C[0,1],$ the study of their convergence properties turns out to be essentially more difficult than that for $q<1.$ In this paper, new saturation theorems related to the convergence of $q$-Bernstein polynomials in the case $q>1$ are proved.
This paper proposes a specialized LP-algorithm for a sub problem arising in simple Profit maximising Lot-sizing. The setting involves a single (and multi) item production system with negligible set-up costs/times and limited production capacity. The producer faces a monopolistic market with given time-varying linear demand curves.
It is shown that the sum and the product of two commuting Banach space operators with Dunford’s property $\mathrm (C)$ have the single-valued extension property.
The skin matrix metalloproteinase 3, tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinase 2 and collagen III content changes in type 1 diabetes and insulin resistance treated with insulin a nd metformin were studied. Healthy adult male Wistar rats were obtained from experimental animal house, Department of Experimental Pharmacology, Medical University in Bialystok. The rats were divided randomly into five groups of 8 rats each. Control rats were injected intraperitoneally by NaCl. Type IDDM was induced by a single injection of Streptozocin. Insulin resistance was induced by a high -fat diet. The chosen groups of rats were also treated with insulin or metformin. ELISA K its (USCN Life Science, China) were used to measure content of matrix metallo - proteinase 3 (ELISA Kit for Matrix Metalloproteinase 3 - MMP3), tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (ELISA Kit for Tissue Inhibitors of Metalloproteinase 2 - TIMP2) and content of collagen type 3 (ELISA Kit for Collagen Type III - COL3). The results were reported as a median. The statistical significance was defined as p<0.05. Type 1 diabetes and insulin resistance have significantly reduced the quality of the skin, shown by the increase in cont ent of matrix metalloproteinase 3 and the decrease in content of tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinase 2. Type 1 diabetes and insulin resistance have reduced the quality of the skin expressed by type III collagen content decrease but for future studies it is recommend to determine rat interstitial collagenase, MMP -13, as well. Insulin and metformin treatment improved the quality of the diabetic skin, demonstrated by the type III collagen content increase., M. Knaś, K. Wołosik, A. Zalewska, A. Mikucka-Niczyporuk, I. When 20-year-old Guo Jingming published his first novel Enchanted City, in 2003, a myth was immediately created. The symbols communicated both by the novel and by the author provoked a deep identification among the readers, who were, for the most part, middle and high school students of the urban middle stratum. Guo Jingming, as many were to proclaim, had given representation to the sensibility of a whole generation. But what were the specific conditions that spurred the emergence of such a sensibility? What was the social dimension that lay beneath the construction of Guo Jingming’s myth? In order to answer these questions, my essay interprets Guo Jingming’s parable in the framework of the material and ideological reality of the “socialist market economy.” It does so, firstly, examining the circumstances that contributed to constitute the subjectivity of the first generation of urbanites who were born under the “one-child policy” and attended the competitive and selective national school system. Secondly, it seeks to reconstruct the parable of Guo Jingming as a writer and a phenomenon of mass culture, who, being produced and promoted by the Chinese culture industry, contributed in turn to the dissemination and promotion of the “new” dominant ideology of the Chinese “socialist market.”
