Cieľ: Cieľom výskumu bolo u detí s bronchiálnou astmou zistiť vplyv ochorenia a stupňa kontroly astmy na kvalitu života dieťaťa a kvalitu života jeho rodičov. Metodika: Na zber empirických údajov sme použili štandardizované dotazníky na kvalitu života – Paediatric Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (PAQLQ) a Paediatric Asthma Caregiver´s Quality of Life Questionnaire (PACQLQ) a na hodnotenie kontroly astmy – Asthma Control Questionnaire (ACQ). Výsledky boli analyzované pomocou metód deskriptívnej a induktívnej štatistiky. Výsledky: Vo vzorke detí (n = 72) sme zistili, že 27 (37,5 %) detí malo astmu pod kontrolou a 28 detí (38,9 %) bolo v pásme nekontrolovanej astmy. Celkové skóre ACQ (1,24 ±1,07) potvrdilo stredný stupeň kontroly astmy. Celkové skóre dotazníka PAQLQ u detí bolo 5,34 ±1,16, čo indikuje, že deti s astmou vyjadrujú dobrú kvalitu života. U detí ochorenie viac vplývalo na aktivity ako na emocionálne prežívanie a výskyt symptómov. Celkové skóre dotazníka PACQLQ u rodičov bolo 4,53 ±1,07, u rodičov nebol zaznamenaný rozdiel v doménach emocionálne prežívanie a aktivity. Výskum potvrdil, že stupeň kontroly astmy štatisticky významne ovplyvňuje kvalitu života dieťaťa aj jeho rodičov, pričom čím je vyššia kvalita života dieťaťa, tým je vyššia kvalita života rodičov. Záver: Cieľom komplexného manažmentu liečby je dosiahnuť čo najoptimálnejší stupeň kontroly astmy, a tým vytvoriť predpoklady k vyššej kvalite života dieťaťa a jeho rodičov. Využívaním posudzovacích nástrojov na hodnotenie kvality života je možné identifikovať závažný dopad choroby na každodenný život detí aj rodičov., Aim: The aim of the research was to find out the impact of the disease and the degree of asthma control on quality of life in children with bronchial asthma and quality of life in their parents. Methods: To collect empirical data we have used standardized questionnaires concerning quality of life – Paediatric Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (PAQLQ) and Paediatric Asthma Caregiver’s Quality of Life Questionnaire (PACQLQ) and for the assessment of asthma control we have used questionnaire Asthma Control Questionnaire (ACQ). The results were analysed using the methods of descriptive and inductive statistics. Results: In the sample of children studied (n = 72) we have found that 27 children (37.5%) have their disease under control and 28 children (38.9%) were in the range of uncontrolled asthma. Total ACQ score (1.24±1.07) confirmed medium degree of asthma control (partially controlled asthma). Total score of PAQLQ questionnaire in children (5.34±1.16) indicates that children with asthma represent good quality of life. Bronchial asthma in children had more significant influence on activities than on emotions and incidence of symptoms. Total score of PACQLQ questionnaire in parents was 4.53 ±1.07 and we have not registered differences between domains of emotions and activities. The research has proved that degree of asthma control has statistically significant influence on the quality of life of the child and his parents, whilst the higher the quality of life of the child, the higher the quality of life of parents. Conclusion: The aim of comprehensive management of asthma therapy is to achieve the most optimal level of asthma control and thus to establish conditions for higher quality of live of the child and his parents. Cieľ: Zámerom štúdie bolo zistiť ako seniori žijúci v domácom prostredí a seniori žijúci v sociálnom zariadení vnímajú kvalitu svojho života z pohľadu nezávislosti v aktivitách denného života. Metódy: Zvolili sme medzinárodný dotazník pre meranie kvality života WHOQOL-BREF a Barthelovej test ADL. Seniori z domáceho prostredia vypĺňali dotazník doručený prostredníctvom sestier ADOS a seniori v sociálnom zariadení vyplnili dotazník doručený prostredníctvom sestier pracujúcich v sociálnom zariadení. Vzorku tvorilo 140 seniorov. Výsledky: Štatistickou analýzou sa nepotvrdil štatisticky významný vzťah medzi seniormi z domáceho prostredia a seniormi zo sociálneho zariadenia v subjektívnom vnímaní kvality života, fyzickým stavom v závislosti na sebestačnosti v aktivitách denného života. Závery: Zistené výsledky môžu uplatniť zdravotnícki pracovníci v geriatrickom ošetrovateľstve., Aim: The aim of this study is to explore the attitude of the elderly receiving health care at home and those living in care homes towards their quality of life in activities of daily living. Methods: In our study we used the internationally-known WHOQOL-BREF Questionnaire and the Barthel index of activities of daily living (ADL). The elderly living at home received the questionnaire from visiting nurses, residents of care homes from the nurses working in the care home. The study sample consisted of 140 elderly people. Results: Statistical analysis did not confirm statistically significant difference in the attitude of the elderly living at home and those living in care homes towards their quality of life in daily activities. Studie se snaţí zodpovědět otázku, jak vnímají, proţívají a hodnotí svou kvalitu ţivota ţeny v období mateřství. Nepouţívá však běţný dotazník, jehoţ znění je stejné pro všechny ţeny a je tedy zaměřen na neexistující „průměrnou ţenu“. Naopak vyuţívá individualizovaného přístupu, kdy ţena můţe sama nadefinovat a poté zhodnotit ty oblasti ţivota a ţivotní cíle, na nichţ právě jí záleţí. Cíl: 1. vyzkoušet metodu SEIQoL (Schedule for the Evaluation of Individual Quality of Life) v mateřství, 2. identifikovat spektrum jejich ţivotních cílů a míru jejich naplňování, 3. stanovit kvalitu jejich ţivota, 4. zjistit vztah mezi uváděnou kvalitou ţivota a volbou ţivotních cílů. Metodika: Metoda SEIQoL v úpravě J. Křivohlavého (2001), statistická analýza dat pomocí programu NCSS 8. Výsledky: U souboru 43 ţen respondentky uvedly celkem 16 ţivotních cílů. Subjektivně udávaná celková kvalita ţivota je poněkud vyšší (81,4), neţ kvalita vypočítaná u dílčích cílů (76,2). Obě stupnice spolu středně korelují (r = 0,513), rozdíl je na hranici statistické významnosti (p = 0,0862). Dále se u obou porovnávaly roz díly mezi vzděláním ţen, počtem dětí a vedením porodu. Závěr: V našem zkoumaném souboru byly ţeny v období mateřství s kvalitou ţivota spokojené. Nejfrekventovanější ţivotní cíle pro ně byly rodina, zdraví, zaměstnání, přátelé a finanční zajištění. Zajímavé zjištění bylo, ţe nebyly shledány statisticky významné rozdíly v kvalitě ţivota dle počtu dětí, vzdělání ţen a vedením porodu., The study is trying to answer the question of how women in their motherhood perceive, experience and evaluate their quality of life. Unlike a standard questionnaire which is the same for all women, an individualized approach was used, with women identifying and then evaluating their own most important areas and goals of life. Aim: (1) to test the Schedule for the Evaluation of Individual Quality of Life (SEIQoL) instrument in motherhood, (2) to identify the spectrum of their life goals and degree of their realization, (3) to determine the quality of their life, and (4) to determine the relationship between the stated quality of life and choice of life goals. Methods: The SEIQoL instrument adapted by Křivohlavý (2001); statistical analysis of data using the NCSS 8 software. Results: A group of 43 respondents stated a total of 16 life goals. The overall subjective quality of life is slightly higher (81.4) than the quality calculated from sub-goals (76.2). Both scales are moderately correlated (r = 0.513), the difference is on the edge of statistical significance (p = 0.0862). Differences in women’s education, number of children and management of delivery were also compared. Conclusion: In our sample, women were satisfied with the quality of life in their motherhood. The most frequent life goals were family, health, job, friends and financial security. Cieľ: Cieľom práce bolo zistiť, aká je kvalita života žien s karcinómom maternice vo vzťahu k veku a dosiahnutému vzdelaniu. Metodika: Súbor tvorilo 300 pacientiek, u ktorých bolo diagnostikované nádorové ochorenie maternice a bola u nich vykonaná hysterektómia. Výskum bol realizovaný prostredníctvom štandardizovaného dotazníka Quality of Life in Adult Cancer Survivors (QLASC). Výsledky: Ženy vo veku nad 50 rokov mali lepšie prežívanie kvality života ako ženy do 50 rokov. Priaznivejšie výsledky u pacientiek vo veku do 50 rokov sa preukázali len v doméne benefit z choroby. Vo vzťahu k vzdelaniu sme podľa priemerného skóre zistili v ôsmich doménach priaznivejšie výsledky u žien s vyšším vzdelaním. Zaujímavé bolo aj zistenie, že v doménach negatívne emócie a distres z opakovania mali ženy so stredoškolským vzdelaním bez maturity lepšie prežívanie faktorov kvality života než ženy so stredoškolským vzdelaním s maturitou. Záver: Na prežívanie kvality života žien s nádorovým ochorením maternice po hysterektómii vplýva biologický vek a stupeň dosiahnutého vzdelania., Aim: The aim of the paper was to ascertain the quality of life of women with uterine cancer in relation to their age and educational level. Methods: The sample consisted of 300 patients who were diagnosed with uterine cancer and underwent hysterectomy. The research was using a standardized questionnaire - Quality of Life in Adult Cancer Survivors (QLASC). Results: Women aged over 50 years reported better quality of life than women aged under 50 years. More favorable results recorded in patients under 50 years of age were only shown in the domain of Benefit of disease. In relation to educational attainment, more favorable results were recorded in women with higher education based on the average scores in eight domains. Interesting was the finding that in the domains Negative emotions and Distress of recurrence, women with lower education were experiencing better quality of life than women with higher education. Článek Lidské embryo v perspektivě bioetiky se podrobně věnuje současné bioetické diskuzi o morálním statusu lidského embrya. Nejdříve si klade otázku, zda je lidské embryo od okamžiku oplození individuálním jedincem lidského druhu a kriticky hodnotí některé námitky proti individualitě lidského embrya. Poté se zaměřuje na problematiku kritérií personální identity a jejich relevanci pro bioetickou diskuzi. Kriticky se vyrovnává rovněž s tzv. konstitucionalizmem. Metafyzickou reflexi uzavírá obhajoba animalismu. V poslední části článku se hodnotí etický relativismus, utilitarismus a předkládá se nárys etické teorie Johna M. Finnise. Závěr práce tvoří teze, že lidské embryo je od okamžiku svého vzniku lidskou osobou obdařenou inherentními, nezcizitelnými lidskými právy., The article The Human Embryo from a Bioethical Perspective devotes in detail to the contemporary bioethical discussion on the moral status of the human embryo. First, it rises an issue whether a human embryo is an individual being of a human kind since the moment of fertilization and it critically assesses some objections against individuality of the human embryo. Following that it focuses on criteria of personal identity and its relevance for bioethical discussion. It critically deals with the so called constitutionalism. Metaphysical reflection is concluded by a defense of animalism. The last part of the article evaluates ethical relativism, utilitarianism and brings in an outline of an ethical theory of John M. The article presents results of a study of the relationship 'locus of control health and subjective wellbeing. In a heterogeneous sample (N = 239) in the stage of youth (1930 years) shall be established: locus of control determines 11.56% of the changes in the assessment of health, changes in health contribute to 12.82% of the variation in assessment of happiness and 6.10% in the measurement of life satisfaction. Young people with an internal locus of control are healthier, happier and more satisfied with their lives than those with an external locus of control. In a study of cause effect relationship is established that internal locus of control determines a healthier lifestyle. Inadequate health care, more severe risk factors (stress, unhealthy diet, inadequate sleep, smoking) among young people with an external locus of control, outline prospects for greater vulnerability of this group of the population of the so called "Diseases of modern society."
