Gynekologické vyšetření dívek a žen před chirurgickou intervencí je nezbytnou součástí diagnostického algoritmu, v případě atrézie hymen tímto lze v některých případech předejít abdominálnímu operačnímu řešení obtíží. Tato kazuistika demonstruje překvapivý nález v dutině břišní u 15leté dívky s bolestmi břicha, primárně chirurgem operované pro diagnózu „akutní apendicitida“.
