Vodní toky v ČR jsou v posledních sto letech vystaveny intenzivnímu antropogennímu tlaku. Tyto činnosti se projevují také na populaci druhu marše pobřežní (Tetrix tuerki), který se vyskytuje se pouze na štěrkových lavicích podhorských potoků a řek. Národní přírodní památka Skalická Morávka je ideálním místem pro tento druh. Dynamika štěrkových lavic je velmi důležitá pro existenci tohoto druhu., Water flows have been under intensive anthropogenic pressure over the last 100 years. These activities also influenced populations of Tetrix tuerki, which only occurs on gravel benches of streams and rivers (dynamics of the benches are crucial for its existence). Keňská národní rezervace Masai Mara (též Maasai Mara) o rozloze 1 510 km2 se nachází ve Velké příkopové propadlině a přímo navazuje na národní park Serengeti v severní Tanzanii. Většinu jejího území pokrývají mírně zvlněné travnaté savany živené četnými srážkami v několika obdobích dešťů od listopadu do dubna. Pouze území v blízkém okolí řeky Mary a jejích přítoků jsou zalesněná. Rezervace je celosvětově proslulá mimořádně početnými migrujícími stády velkých kopytníků a jejich predátorů. V posledních desetiletích však populace některých druhů výrazně ubývají, za hlavní rizikové faktory se považuje rozšiřující se pastva skotu a nekontrolovaný rozvoj cestovního ruchu., Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, covering an area of 1,510 km2, is situated in the Rift Valley with Tanzania’s Serengeti Plains running along its southern end. Most of the reserve is made up of hilly grassland, fed by plentiful rain, especially during the wet months between November and April. Only the areas near the Mara river and its tributaries are forested. The reserve is famous for its exceptional migrating populations of larger ungulates and its predators. We have separated 2b myosin heavy chain (MyHC) isoform from the rat extensor digitorum longus muscle by SDS-PAGE and analyzed it by two subsequent mass spectrometry techniques. After tryptic digestion, the obtained peptides were identified by Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionisation reflectron Time of Flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) and sequenced by Liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (ESI LC/MS/MS). The analyzed peptides proportionally covered 30 % of the 2b MyHC isoform sequence. The results suggest that the primary structure is identical with the highest probability to a NCBI database record ref|NP_062198.1|, representing the last updated record of rat 2b isoform. The aim of the project is to study, develop and apply processes, methods and tools enabling the creation of an infrastructure and conditions for implementation of the Czech Mathematical Digital Library which will comprise a relevant part of the mathematical literature published in the Czech Republic and for its integration into the World Mathematical Digital Library (WMDL). The project includes the beginning of the digitization process, provision of the end users with an access to the digital staff, investigation of advanced technologies for search in mathematical documents and integration of born-digital documents.
The sustainable ecology belongs to the most important issues today. In this field a use of recycled materials is of great interest to people. Consequently, incorporation of industrial waste, concrete and brick scraps and other rubbish into products for civil engineering use is very important. Certain results from experiments carried out in laboratory on standard samples are emerged in this paper. Since the material is not yet enough approved, three main targets are addressed. The first involves the behaviour of fiber reinforced concrete based on aggregates from various recycled material. Then the influence of distance among two or more fibers is observed. The aim of our study was to evaluate possible effect of ABCB1, and OPRM1 polymorphisms on the efficacy and safety of remifentanil in women undergoing elective cesarean section under general anesthesia. Women received remifentanil (1 μg/kg i.v.) 30 s prior to the induction to standardized general anesthesia. The ABCB1 (rs2032582, rs1045642) and OPRM1 (rs1799971) polymorphisms were analyzed from maternal peripheral blood. The basal hemodynamic and demographic parameters in the study population (n=54) were similar in all the subgroups. The median ± SD increase of systolic blood pressure at 5 min from the baseline was practically completely abolished in homozygous carriers of ABCB1 variants in comparison with wildtype subjects -2.67±25.0 vs. 16.57±15.7 mm Hg, p<0.05 for rs2032582, and 2.00±23.9 vs. 22.13±16.8 mm Hg, p<0.05, for rs1045642, respectively. While no neonate belonging to ABCB1 wild-type homozygous or OPRM1 variant carrying mothers needed any resuscitative measure, 10.5 % of the neonates belonging to OPRM1 wild-type homozygous mothers received resuscitative support similarly as 11.1 %, and 12.5 % of neonates of mothers carrying variants of rs2032582, and rs1045642, respectively. Decreased stabilizing effects of remifentanil on maternal hemodynamics has been observed in ABCB1 wild type mothers, while the adaptation of the neonates was clinically worse in OPRM1 wild type, and ABCB1 variant allele carriers., H. The aim of this work is to present the efficacy of a previously introduced computational procedure, developed for evaluation of vascular responsiveness. On this reason, as an example a common study of noradrenaline (NA) effect on a rat renal artery under in vitro conditions was arbitrarily selected. The response of the arterial segment to NA doses (0.1-10 μg) was digitally recorded on a PC and employed to develop mathematical model of NA effect. Using the model, the following NA effect variables were determined: the vessel sensitivity parameter, mean effect time and rate constant, respectively, characterizing the effect intensity, duration, and regression and also classic response variables: the maximal effect and time of the maximal effect. The two-way analysis of variance followed by Bonferroni’s test revealed a significant influence of the increasing NA dose on the vessel sensitivity parameter and mean effect time. These findings indicated nonlinearity of processes underlying NA effect on the rat renal artery over the given range of NA doses. The procedure exemplified has the potential for use as an effective adjunct to routine studies of vascular responsiveness as it enables the extraction of meaningful information which cannot by obtained by common manual evaluation procedures., M.
