Variants within the FTO gene are important determinants of body mass index (BMI), but their role in determination of BMI changes after combined dietary/physical ac tivity intervention is unclear. We have analyzed 107 unrelated overweight non-diabetic Czech females (BMI over 27.5 kg/m2 , age 49.2±12.3 years). FTO variants rs17817449 (first intron) and rs17818902 (third intron) were genotyped. The life style mo dification program (10 weeks) consisted of an age- matched reduction of energy intake and exercise program (aerobic exercise 4 times a week, 60 min each). The mean BMI before intervention was 32.8±4.2 kg/m2 and the mean achieved weight loss was 4.8±3.5 kg (5.3±3.5 %, max. -15.5 kg, min. +2.0 kg, p<0. 01). No significant association between BMI decrease and FTO variants was found. Also waist-to-hip ratio, body composition (body fat, water, active tissue), lipid parameters (total, LDL and HDL cholesterol, triglycerides) glucose and hsCRP change s were independent on FTO variants. FTO variants rs17817449 and rs17818902 are not associated with BMI changes after combined short time dietary/physical activity intervention in overweight females., D. Dlouhá ... Daný koncept by dle nich mohl sloužit jako inspirace k širšímu přemýšlení o etiologii „podezřele“ nízkých hodnot v testech intelektu a o intelektovém potenciálu dítěte. Z rozhovorů také vyplynulo několik potenciálních námětů pro praxi – potřeba tvorby jasně vymezené a všeobecně přijímané definice SPMP, větší komplexnosti a hloubky diagnostiky, prohloubení spolupráce s rodinou dítěte ze sociálně znevýhodněného prostředí a dalšími návaznými institucemi. and The aim of this pilot qualitative research was to take an insight into how counseling psychologists perceive the concept of socially conditioned intellectual disability (further only SCID). Specifically, to find out if they are aware of this concept, their attitude towards it, diagnostic practice, and potential supportive interventions. Data were obtained through a semistructured interview of 10 respondents (Median experience = 6 years), from 9 Children´s educational care centres (5 regions of the Czech Republic). The obtained data were analyzed by thematic analysis with the elements of the grounded theory using the technique of open coding. The analysis showed that none of the respondents explicitly use the term SCID, however, the term is implicitly present in their practice. According to the respondents, the concept could serve as an inspiration for a broader reflection on the etiology of "suspiciously low" scores in intellectual tests and the intellectual potential of the child. In practice, the respondents most often determine the conclusion about the level of intellectual and adaptive abilities based only on standardized tests of intellect. The respondents do not use tests and scales for adaptive behaviour, social and family environment – mainly due to a lack of staff and time capacity. The respondents perceive the differential diagnosis of SCID from intellectual disability as complicated. Half of the respondents see dynamic assessment as a promising approach to differentiate between SCID and intellectual disability. The respondents provide follow-up support and interventions to children who may fit the SCID concept very marginally due to limited capacity. The interviews also provided several potential suggestions for practice – the need to create a clear and generally accepted definition of SCID, conduct an assessment in greater depth and complexity, and intensify cooperation with the family of a child from a socially disadvantaged background and other related institutions.
Metody použité za účelem ohodnocení této intervenční metody (zúčastněné pozorování, polostrukturovaný rozhovor s trenérkou a dotazníky vyplněné hráčkami) byly mírně pozměněny.
Příspěvek napomáhá k rozšíření počtu aplikačních oblastí metody Videotrénink interakcí a ukazuje směr, jakým je možno pracovat na vzdělávání a rozvoji sportovních trenérů. and This case study relates to the field of sport psychology describing coach´s tasks and skills. Good communication skills of a coach contribute to performance enhancement, personal growth, good interpersonal relationship and also to positive motivational climate. The aim of this case study is to use the Video Interaction Guidance (VIG, in Czech rep. VTI; Biemans, 1990) method for working with coach in order to develop his communication and social skills and consequently evaluate utility of this method.
Based on the previous experience of the author with this intervention method (Baláková, 2011, 2013) number of interventions was extended. Methods used for the purpose of the evaluation of the intervention (participated observing, semi-structured interview with coach and questionnaires completed by players) have been slightly modified.
The paper helps to increase the number of VIG application areas and shows the direction how it is possible to educate coaches and improve their skills.
In this article we show that significant differences between the foreign currency mortgage agreements in Hungary and Poland led to significant differences in monthly mortgage payments after the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) erupted. Hungarian banks were able to add a variable markup to the LIBOR3M that was connected to bank risk on top of the usual fixed markup. We compare the monthly mortgage payments and LTV levels of people who took out a CHF mortgage with those who obtained a local currency mortgage during the mortgage boom years of 2006–2008. We find that in the initial years of the mortgage CHF mortgages were cheaper than local currency mortgages, which allowed more people to buy housing. However, the GFC led to a deterioration of the exchange rate, and monthly payments and LTV levels (consequently?) increased. We analyse the mortgage costs and LTV levels of the 2006-2008 foreign currency (FX) mortgage vintages in Hungary and Poland between 2006 and 2020 and compare them to local currency mortgages. We also simulate the effects of changing housing prices and wages on mortgages in the cities of Budapest and Warsaw.
