- Description:
- Cryptic immigrants are common species incorporated in near-natural biocoenoses that occur only in Holocene, mostly very recent deposits, being absent from older (Pleistocene) formations. This is true of Alinda biplicata, Oxychilus cellarius and other presented species. This also applies to isolated occurrences of Itala ornata or Cochlodina commutata that entered the Bohemian Uplands by aerial dispersal from the south. In the Pleistocene, the very early appearance of some southern species (e.g. Drobacia banatica) from the very be-ginning of the interglacial periods is reminiscent of modern snail invasions. How-ever, the former was initiated by the abrupt increase in temperature and moisture., Vojen Ložek, and 1 barev. fot., 10 čb. fot.

- Description:
- At first glance, the Israeli right might be regarded as a sort of monolith. Characterized by intransigence vis-à-vis the great powers (initially the British) and the Arabsalike and with iconic strongmen at the helm, both the post-independence Herut party and its interwar predecessor(s) clearly demonstrated to the outside world what Zionist maximalism stood for, particularly in terms of its political and terriotiral demands. on a closer look, however, many of the sought after parallels between the interwar Zionist right and the post-independence Israeli right are more imagined than real. in fact, not only were the particular groupings made up of different sets of players (often in opposition to each other), but their very worldviews differed, sometimes fundamentally. After all, the paramilitary groups from which the Israeli right developed had self-distanced themselves from any sort of reliance on political means or international guarantees, rejecting the very notions which had stood at the core of interwar Revisionism, the alleged forefather of the Israeli right., Jan Zouplna., and Obsahuje bibliografii

- Description:
- Stále větší množství nově nalezených rukopisů z doby Válčicích států (Zhànguó, 453-221 př. n. l.) významným způsobem ovlivňuje naše poznání společenského, politického i intelektuálního života této doby. Tyto bezprecedentní prameny otevírají v kapitole nejstarších čínských dějin množství nových otázek, zároveň ale vrhají nové světlo na některé v minulosti hojně diskutované problémy. Článek představuje nově nalezený rukopis dějepisné povahy Xìnián, který neocenitelným způsobem poupravuje naše chápání některých významných událostí z doby vlády dynastie Zhöu (asi 1046-256 př. n. l.), a předkládá překlad a analýzu prvních čtyř kapitol rukopisu, vztahujících se k významným událostem z doby Západní Zhöu (asi 1046-771 př. n. l.), This article introduces the recently discovered Warring States period Xìnián manuscrpit. Following a brief summary of the most recently discovered manuscripts from the Warring States period, and a short introduction to the collection of bamboo slips acquired by Tsinghua University, the article discusses the nature of this unprecedented text, and provides a Czech translation of its first four chapters, which are mainly concerčned with events from the Western Zhöu period. The significance of the contents of these chapters for the study of early Chinese history is further exemplified in a detailed discussion following the translation, highlighting in particular the records on the migration of the progenitors of the Qín ruling house from east to west, the move of the Wèi capital from Kängqiü to Wèi-on-Qí, the regency of Gòngbó Hé and, most importantly, the process of relocating the Zhöu capital to the east. The identification of Qifäng, prince of Wèi, as the marquis Wén of Wèi is also discussed at some length., Ondřej Škrabal., and Obsahuje bibliografii

- Language:

- Description:
- The prehistory of clay mineralogy is highlighted from the beginnings in ancient Greece to the mineralogical works of Agricola, in particular his famous handbook of mineralogy, entitled De natura fossilium (1546). Starting with a few scattered hints in the works of Archaic and Classic Greek authors, including Aristotle, the first treatment of clays as a part of mineralogy is by Theophrastus. This basic tradition was further supplemented by Roman agricultural writers (Cato, Columella), Hellenistic authors (the ge ographer Strabo and the physicians Diosco rides and Galen), the Roman engineer-architect Vitruvius, and finally summarized in Pliny’s encyclopedia Naturalis historia, which has become the main source for later authors, including Agricola. It is shown to what extent Agricola’s work is just a great summary of this traditional knowledge and to what extent Agricola’s work must be considered as original. In pa rticular, Agricola’s attempt to a rational, combinatorical classification of "earths" is recalled, and aplausible explanation is given for his effort to include additional information on Central European clay depos its and argillaceous raw material occurre nces. However, it is shown that - in contrast to common belief - Agricola was not the first to include "earths" in a mineralogical system. This had been done almost one thousand years earlier by Isidore of Seville., Willi Pabst and Renata Kořánová., and Obsahuje bibliografické odkazy
