The present text maps the actual situation of the participants of the controlled resettlement from the former Soviet Union to the Czech Republic in the years 1992–1993. Better to say, it maps the situation of a group of these settlers who at present live in the village Milovice, in the revitalized former military domain in the south-eastern part of the region Střední Čechy (Central Bohemia). The aim of the research was to analyze how the settlers perceive their reception from part of the majorite society, to study their adaptive strategies and to find out if the resettlement to the Czech Republic and the choice of the mentioned locality fulfilled their wishes and to what degree. The final part of the article summarizes what the settlers see as positive and what as negative aspects of the resettlement. The text is based on repeated directed interviews and observations realized in Milovice in the years 2008–2009.

Článok poukazuje na často nereflektované nedostatky diagnostických nástrojov používaných pri štúdiu gendrovej identity. Pozornosť je venovaná predovšetkým vzniku a konštrukčným obmedzeniam najrozšírenejšieho nástroja používaného pre tento účel - Bem Sex Role Inventory. Jeho využitie je založené na eoretických predpokladoch, ktoré nikdy neboli úspešne empiricky overené. Hoci jeho kritika bola v tomto duchu formulovaná už pred 30 rokmi, dodnes sa táto nevalidná technika používa v rade aktuálnych výskumov. V druhej časti článku sú predstavené alternatívne techniky merania gendrovej identity založené na diskriminačnej analýze a teste implicitných asociácií., The paper highlights the often not reflected weaknesses of diagnostic tools used in the study of masculinity and feminity. Attention is paid mainly to structural limitations of the tool most widely used for this purpose - Bem Sex Role Inventory. Its use is based on theoretical assumptions that have never been successfully empirically verified. Although criticism of Bem Sex Role Inventory has been formulated more than 30 years ago, this technique is still used in a number of recent studies. In the second part alternative measurement techniques are presented. The various properties of classical Dedekind sums $S(h, q)$ have been investigated by many authors. For example, Yanni Liu and Wenpeng Zhang: A hybrid mean value related to the Dedekind sums and Kloosterman sums, Acta Mathematica Sinica, 27 (2011), 435–440 studied the hybrid mean value properties involving Dedekind sums and generalized Kloosterman sums $K(m, n, r; q)$. The main purpose of this paper, is using the analytic methods and the properties of character sums, to study the computational problem of one kind of hybrid mean value involving Dedekind sums and generalized Kloosterman sums, and give an interesting identity.

This article analyses the processes of creating the township on the example of Borne Sulinowo, one of the youngest cities in Poland. The collapse of the communism in the Centre and Eastern Europe caused, that Poland had made efforts for the revitalization of areas occupied by Soviet armies. Borne Sulinowo, a small city located in the north-western Poland, suffered the same fate as desolation of its areas after the departure of the Soviet Army and anew settlement by the civil settlers. Issues brought up in the article are focusing on problems of the adaptation of the settlers to the new cultural environment, on shaping local bonds and on the degree of the identification with the new place of residence.

Worker´s colony Karlov was built by Škoda Works in 1913 to accomodate the growing number of its employees. Attached to the factory´s walls and thus spatially segregated from the rest of the city, inhabitants of Karlov built a retively close-knit neighbourhood community with a strong place-based identity. Based on the analysis of archival material and data from interviews with its former inhabitants, we follow Karlov´s voyage from capitalism to state-socialism at the levels of both macro-structural forces and it´s inhabitants experience of everyday life.

Autor přijímá implicitní výzvu k dialogu nad knihou I. Markové nazvané Dialogičnost a sociální reprezentace. Všímá si toho, jak Marková rozebrala dvě situace – z Joyceova Odyssea a Havlovy Moci bezmocných. V jejím podání dominuje někdy v sociálním životě lidí jednání (jakožto znak) nad slovem, které o funkci znaku přichází. Oproti tvrzení o osudových dopadech jednání občanů na jejich identitu v minulém režimu autor formuluje myšlenku, že lidé nemuseli přicházet o autentičnost, i když nemluvili pravdu či byli „odpojeni“ od slov jakožto znaků. Polemizuje i s myšlenkou o nekomunikativnosti jazyka. Oproti teorii sociálních reprezentací se odvolává na analýzu diskurzu. V diskuzi pak nabízí jiné výklady „chování zelináře“.

Open-air museums are very popular in the Czech Republic now. Besides the permanent popularity of these institutions, they attract more and more criticism - not only from the professional public - for their today’s condition. Attention is paid mainly to the insufficient level of authenticity, which causes the public to be misinformed about historical reality. The degree of how the depicted facts are truthful constitutes the basic problem. Considerable danger also insists in hiding or non-admission of non-identical materials and techniques. When using intended deceits, the open-air museums as cultural and memory institutions can easilyl and in conflict with museum ethics. .
