The aim of this study was to compare the isolation systems OptraDam® Plus and OptiDam™ with the conventional rubber dam in terms of objective and subjective parameters. The isolation systems were applied during the dental treatment of the patients. The time of preparation, placement, presence and removal were measured and the quality of isolation was evaluated. The median time of rubber dam placement was 76 s (Q1=62 s; Q3=111.25 s). The application time of OptraDam® Plus was significantly longer compared to the other systems (P ® plus. In the last decade the health of young people in Ukraine as well as in many other countries of the world significantly deteriorated according to the results of screening tests. Because of this the main task of prophylactic medicine is development and introduction of new methods of early diagnostics of diseases. The aim of the work to assess the peculiarities of adaptation of students with different types of vegetative regulation. Material and methods: 415 second year students of Lugansk State Medical University were tested. The mechanisms of physiological functions of the body regulation were assessed by registration of cardiac rhythm variability (CRV). Analysis of CRV was performed by three methods: statistical, geometrical, and spectral analysis. The express method proposed by Shlyk, N.I. (2009) was later used to determine the prevailing type of vegetative regulation. To assess adaptability the method of R.M. Baevskij (1979) was used. Results: In the result of investigation 4 types of functional states of regulatory systems were determined: I type 295 (71 %) of tested, II in 14 (3 %), III in 96 (23 %) and IV only in 10 (2%). I type of functional state of regulatory systems in the wakeful state at rest was characterized by moderate prevalence of central regulation of heart rhythm (MPCR), decreased activity of autonomic regulation. It was noticed that some of the parameters of CRV (like RR, SDNN, RMSSD and pNN50) which characterize autonomic regulation, were statistically lowere (р≤0.01) compared to type III, and some (like AMo and SI) higher, in both female and male students. Summarized spectrum capacity and components of its wave structure (HF, LF, VLF) which characterize central regulation were statistically significantly lower (р≤0.01) for the I type of regulation compared to the III one which is characterized by moderate prevalence of autonomic regulation of the heart rhythm. In female students with type I autonomic regulation compared to male students such CRV parameters as RR and AМo were statistically significantly lower (р≤0.05), while the parameters of total potency (TP) and high frequency waves (HF) were higher (р≤0.05), which could point to more centralized heart rhythm regulation in male compared to female. The evaluation of regulatory systems overstress allowed to determine the state of adaptation and risk of overstress or breakdown in students with different types of autonomic regulation. Východiska: Vzhledem ke geriatrizaci ošetřovatelské péče se ageismus stává často diskutovaným tématem. Z tohoto důvodu je velmi důležité, aby nelékařští zdravotničtí pracovníci byli v tomto ohledu dostatečně vzděláváni, protože právě dostatečná informovanost a praktická zkušenost může ovlivnit míru inklinace k ageistickým postojům. Cíl: Cílem výzkumného šetření bylo zhodnotit ageistické postoje u studentů středních zdravotnických škol v závislosti na škole a ročníku, kterou respondenti navštěvovali a zjistit rozdíly ve vnímání seniorské populace. Metody: V souladu s cíli práce byl proveden kvantitativní výzkum formou dotazníkového šetření. Na základě bodového ohodnocení odpovědí v dotazníku byla zjištěna míra ageistických postojů u respondentů. Výsledky: Práce prokázala, že je statisticky významný vztah mezi ageistickými postoji u studentů a jejich příslušností ke střední škole. Stejně tak byl prokázán rozdíl mezi ageistickými postoji u studentů druhých a čtvrtých ročníků středních zdravotnických škol. Závěry: Z práce vyplývá, že ve sledovaném souboru se u většiny studentů objevuje střední inklinace k ageistickým postojům s ohledem na navštěvovanou školu. Dále pak, že k ageistickým postojům inklinují více studenti čtvrtých ročníků, kteří již absolvovali odbornou praxi u lůžka nemocného, než studenti druhých ročníků, kteří tuto praxi ještě neabsolvovali., Background: Due to geriatrization of nursing care becomes oen discussed theme. Because of this it’s very important that non-medical health staff will be enough educated. It is that sufficient awareness and practical experience that can affect the rate of inclination to ageist attitudes. Objective: e objective of this research was to evaluate ageist attitudes of nursing school students according to school which the respondents visited and find out the differences in perception of senior population among the students of second and fourth grade. Methods: Due to the aims of this work the quantitative research has been done through a questionnaire survey. e rate of ageist attitudes was observed based on scoring responses. Results: A statistically significant relationship between symptoms of ageist attitudes this work proved as well as the differences between symptoms of ageist attitudes among second and fourth grade students. Conclusions: e work shows that in the sample survey, the majority of students appearing middle inclination to the myths of old age. Cíl práce: Analyzovat výsledky indukovaných porodů u primipar po ukončeném 41. týdnu těhotenství bez další zátěže. Typ studie: Retrospektivní klinická studie. Název a sídlo pracoviště: Gynekologicko-porodnická klinika 1. LF UK v Praze, Nemocnice Na Bulovce. Materiál: V letech 2011–2013 porodilo na Gynekologicko-porodnické klinice v Nemocnici Na Bulovce celkem 6 317 žen. U 203 prvorodiček byl porod indukován po ukončeném 41. týdnu těhotenství prostaglandinem dinoproston. Do kontrolní skupiny bylo zařazeno 291 primipar se spontánním začátkem porodu po termínu. Metodika: Porovnali jsme u obou skupin věk rodiček, celkovou délku porodu, celkovou krevní ztrátu, rozdíly ve způsobu ukončení porodu, výskyt hypotonie děložní a manuální vybavení placenty, porodní poranění, četnost epidurální analgezie a poporodní adaptaci novorozenců (Apgarové skóre a pH z pupečníkové krve novorozenců). Údaje byly retrospektivně získány ze zdravotnické dokumentace a statisticky zpracovány. Výsledky: Ve sledované skupině jsme zjistili signifikantně vyšší četnost ukončení porodu císařským řezem (21,2 % vs 11,0 %, p < 0,002), statisticky významně vyšší krevní ztrátu (341 ml vs 314 ml, p = 0,002) a četnost podání epidurální analgezie (25,1 % vs 11,7 %, p < 0,001). Další sledované parametry byly srovnatelné u obou skupin. Předpokládaný vliv věku nad 35 let na frekvenci císařského řezu nebyl v této studii prokázán. Závěr: U primipar s indukovaným porodem jsme zjistili výrazně vyšší frekvenci císařských řezů. Délka porodů a frekvence hypotonie děložní byly srovnatelné s kontrolní skupinou. Farmakologická indukce porodu prostaglandinem E2 z důvodu potermínové gravidity představuje u primipar silný rizikový faktor k ukončení císařským řezem., Objective: To analyse effect of induced labor in primiparous women after completed 41st gestation week without any other pathology. Design: Retrospective clinical study. Setting: Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles Univesity in Prague, Hospital Na Bulovce. Material: Altogether 6 317 women delivered at Hospital Na Bulovce in Prague between years 2011–2013. In 203 primiparous women after completed 41st gestation week, labor was induced by prostaglandin dinoproston. The control group consisted of 291 primiparae with spontaneus onset of labor after the term. Methods: We compared the groups in respect to patient´s age, parity, total duration of labor, total blood loss, frequency of different ways of delivery, frequency of analgesia, frequency of diverse delivery injuries, manual removal of placenta and uterine hypotonia, neonatal outcomes (Apgar score of newborns, and the pH of umbilical arterial and vein blood). Data were retrospectively obtained from the medical documentation and statistically processed. Results: We proved significantly higher frequency of Caesarean sections (21,2 % vs 11,0 %, p < 0,002), statistically significant higher blood loss (341 ml vs 314 ml, p = 0,002), and frequency of epidural analgesia applications (25,1 % vs 11,7 %, p < 0,001) in the study group. Other analysed parameters were similar in both groups. Expected effect of age more than 35 years on frequency of Caesarean section was not proved in the study group. Conclusion: We found a substantially higher frequency of Cesarean sections in primiparous women with induced labor. The duration of delivery and the frequency of uterine hypotonia were similar as in the control group. Kyselina močová je u človeka biologicky aktívny koncový produkt metabolizmu purínov. Zvýšené koncentrácie kyseliny močovej sprevádzajú metabolický syndróm a jeho komponenty už u detí a mladistvých. K hyperurikémii prispieva konzumácia nápojov prisládzaných fruktózou, nakoľko je jediným sacharidom, pri ktorého metabolizme vzniká kyselina močová. Súčasné vedomosti neumožňujú odlíšiť, či je hyperurikémia kauzálnou príčinou komponentov metabolického syndrómu, alebo len sprievodným znakom naznačujúcim zvýšené riziko vzniku kardiovaskulárnych ochorení. V súčasnosti neexistuje konsenzus či a ako liečiť asymptomatickú hyperurikémiu u detí a mladistvých. Zaujať zásadný postoj k týmto otázkam umožnia len výsledky randomizovaných kontrolovaných prospektívnych štúdií, ktoré poskytnú dôkazy o prospešných účinkoch tejto liečby na prevalenciu metabolického syndrómu a incidenciu kardiovaskulárnych chorôb., In humans, uric acid represents a biologically active end-product of purine nucleotides. Several studies in children and adolescents documented an association between hyperuricaemia and the components metabolic syndrome. High intake of fructose-sweetened beverages might increase uricaemia, since fructose is the only saccharide which metabolism results in the formation of uric acid. Current knowledge does not allow distinguishing whether hyperuricaemia is causally related to the components of metabolic syndrome, or rather represents a marker of an enhanced risk, and poor outcome. No guidelines exist whether or not to treat asymptomatic hyperuricaemia in the adolescents. Kognitivní teorie a modely chování ozřejmují psychologické faktory participující na behaviorální změně a umožňují vytváření efektivních preventivních strategií, které jsou v souladu s bio-psycho-sociálním pojetím zdraví a nemoci. Behaviorální intervence se uplatňují v primární i sekundární prevenci, mají efekt na individuální a populační úrovni, zvyšují kvalitu života a snižují náklady na zdravotní péči. Chování směřující ke zdraví a způsoby jeho ovlivnění mají věková specifika., Chronic non-infectious diseases are a major health problem in the developed countries. Lifestyle plays an important role in their complex aetiology. Affecting the behaviour forming the lifestyle therefore has a strong preventive potential. Cognitive theories and behavioural models illustrate psychological factors participating in the behavioural change and enable to create effective preventive strategies that are consistent with the bio-psycho-social concept of health and disease. Antrochoanal polyps are benign lesions originating from the mucosa of the maxillary sinus. Nasal obstruction and rhinorrhea are their main symptoms. Their endoscopical and radiological appearance makes them relatively easy to diagnose. These polyps are usually presented unilaterally, although bilateral presentation is also possible. We described two cases of atypically giant antrochoanal polyps: in a 15-year-old child and in a 38-year-old man. In both cases, the diagnosis was done by nasal endoscopy and computed tomography (CT) of the paranasal sinuses and supported by histopathological analysis. In the first patient, the excised polyp had the histological characteristic of an angiomatous antrochoanal polyp. Because of their unusual dimension, the combined transoral and endonasal endoscopic approach was performed for complete polyp excision. We discussed the clinical, histopathological and immunohistochemical characteristics of choanal polyps in comparison to inflammatory nasal polyps, and the applicable surgical techniques for treatment of these polyps. and C. The aim of our study was to determine the significance of lymphocyte-platelet adhesion (LPA), interleukins, transforming included 139 pregnant women aged between 17 and 27 years (21.3±4.22 years). GH was diagnosed in 119 women after 20 weeks of pregnancy. 20 patients (control group) were with physiological course of pregnancy. The distribution of patients by groups was carried out according to the level of blood pressure (BP) in accordance with ICD-10 (Geneva, WHO, 2002). The survey was conducted at the moment of detection pregnancy from 7 to 10 weeks and in dynamics of I, II and III trimesters of gestation. In the dynamics of gestation, were studied the number of desquamated endothelial cells circulating in the systemic circulation (CECs), nitrates levels, the adhesion of platelets by estimation their ability to form co-aggregates with lymphocytes by determining the percentage of lymphocytes aggregates with thrombocytes (lymphocyte-platelet plugs), at risk of hypertensive disorders, especially after 20-22 weeks of gestation and later, lymphocytes ability to platelets adhesion is rose, the concentrations of pro-inflammatory cytokines and NO level are increased.
