Kvalita programu je hodnocena pomocí indikátorů kvality – zejména záchytu adenomů (adenoma detection rate, ADR) a podílu totálních kolonoskopií (cecal intubation rate, CIR). Díky screeningovému programu dochází v ČR k dlouhodobé stabilizaci incidence a mírnému poklesu mortality na kolorektální karcinom. K dalšímu snižování incidence a mortality onemocnění je nutná vyšší účast cílové populace za pomocí adresného zvaní cílové populace a mediální kampaně., Colorectal cancer is the second most common malignant disease in developed countries. Given that the process of sporadic cancer carcinogenesis is relatively slow, it is possible to successfully prevent this disease. Czech National Colorectal Cancer Screening Program was launched in 2000 and since that time is in continual development in order to increase the effective coverage of the target population. It is currently available as two-step screening program (stool test for occult blood and colonoscopy) or one-step program (primary screening colonoscopy). Quality of the program is evaluated using performance indicators – namely adenoma detection rate (ADR) and cecal intubation rate (CIR). The screening program in the Czech Republic enables long-term stabilization of incidence and a slight decrease in mortality from colorectal cancer. To further reduce the incidence and mortality of this disease, greater participation of the target population using personalized invitation of target population and media campaigns are necessary., Štěpán Suchánek, Tomáš Grega, Ondřej Májek, Ladislav Dušek, Miroslav Zavoral, and Literatura
The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal problems among Czech dentists and to analyze the factors that affect these disorders. Information was gathered through questionnaire completed by 581 physicians. The questionnaire ascertained general information about physicians including their work habits and the characteristics of their work environment along with the occurrence of musculoskeletal problems as well as their intensity. In the past year the occurrence of at least mild difficulties associated with the locomotive system was reported by 96.9% of dentists surveyed (n = 557), with 66.3% of respondents (n = 381) reporting difficulties ofa moderate or major nature. Most respondents of both sexes indicated neck pain. A statistically significant correlation with the occurrence of musculoskeletal complaints of medium and major intensity was demonstrated for the following factors: sex, age, running a private practice, past injury or musculoskeletal diseases, and the perception of work as psychologically demanding. Musculoskeletal disorders in dentists in Czech Republic are relatively frequent and serious health problem. The causes of these diseases must be identified and appropriate preventive interventions undertaken that will contribute to a reduction in the incidence of these problems. and Z. Sustová, L. Retrospektivní dotazníkové šetření, jehož cílem bylo prokázat, že kouření matek a kouření v domácnostech sledovaných dětí má signifikantní vliv na zvýšení celkové nemocnosti, respiračních infekcí a zánětů středního ucha u dětí do tří let věku, probíhalo v Brně a na jižním Slovensku. Zahrnovalo 120 matek (60 z ČR a 60 z SR) tříletých dětí za spoluúčasti příslušných registrujících praktických pediatrů. Ve sledovaném souboru jsme zaznamenali nejnižší celkovou nemocnost i počet respiračních onemocnění v nekuřáckých domácnostech. Nejvyšší celková nemocnost i počet onemocnění byl v rodinách matek kuřaček, kdy v domácnosti nikdo jiný nekouřil. Studie je v souladu se zahraničními i českými studiemi, které popisují zvýšení nemocnosti a respiračních onemocnění v souvislosti s expozicí tabákovému kouři u dětí do tří let věku., The retrospective data collection whose aim was to prove the effects of smoking associated with the increase of overall illness rate, respiratory infections and the inflammation of the middle ear in children up to the age of 3 living with smoking mothers and in smoking households was carried out in Brno, Czech Republic (CR) and in Southern Slovakia (SR). The study involved 120 mothers of 3 year old children (60 from the CR and 60 from the SR) and the participating practicing pediatricians. The lowest overall illness rate and the lowest number of respiratory diseases was found in the no-smoking families within the monitored group. The highest overall illness rate and the highest number of diseases was encountered in the families of smoking mothers with nobody else smoking in the family. The study is in accordance with foreign and Czech studies that describe an increase in the illness rate and respiratory diseases related to exposure to tobacco smoke in children up to 3 years of age., Ildikó Nagy, Martin Sebera, and Literatura
Pacienti s vezikoureterálním refiuxem byli rozděleni do skupiny s nediktujícím (VUR I.-II. stupně) a dilatujícím (VUR III.-V. stupně) refiuxem. Na základě našich zjištění nedoporučujeme provádět MCU plošně u všech pacientů ve věku 2-24 měsíců po první atace IMC., Aim: Ultrasound investigation and voiding cystouretrography (VCUG) are part of the diagnostic algorithm in children with febrile urinary tract infection (UTI) with the aim of depicting any complication of the infection and underlying anomalies of the urinary tract. As the understanding of the relationship between UTI, renal scarring and vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) evolves, new recommended imaging algorithms are being introduced. Methods: 184 patients that underwent VCUG after the first or recurrent febrile UTI were included in the study. The incidence of VUR in both groups have been evaluated and compared with ultrasound findings. Patients with VUR were divided into those with non-dilating (VUR grade I-II) and dilating (VUR grade III-V) reflux. Results: Overall VUR was diagnosed in 39/184 (21%) patients. VUR was seen in 23/156 (15%) patients in the group of patients after the first fibrile UTI, in comparison to 16/28 (57%) patients with recurrent fibrile UTI (statistically significant difference, p < 0,0001). 8/156 (5%) patients after the first febrile UTI had dilating VUR, compared to 11/28 (39%) patients after recurrent febrile UTI (statistically significant difference, p< 0,0001). Conclusion. In compliance with current recommendations of the American Academy of Paediatrics the results of this study have shown low incidence of VUR and dilating VUR in patients with a history of single febrile UTI. Based on the results of our study it can be concluded that VCUG is not recommended in all patiens in the age of 2-24 months but only in specifically identified cases., Mlynářová E, Zieg J, Sorantin E., and Literatura
