This article presents the extraordinary discoveries of ceramic vessel deposits in wells of the Funnel Beaker culture (FBC). Such a custom is observed in all groups of this community but is of particular importance in the Eastern group of the FBC. In central Poland (Kuyavia) specifically, there are many objects of this type compared to older materials of the Linear Pottery culture. The analysis of the local contexts of these finds allows for the hypothesis that the two communities are closely related to be proposed. and Článek pojednává o mimořádných nálezech keramických nádob ve studnách z období kultury nálevkovitých pohárů (KNP).
The paper deals with the issue of Roman archaeological finds and assemblage in the Malá Haná region in the context of substantial strong Germanic settlement activities that had or may have had connections to the period of Marcomannic wars. During the last decade of research in particular on sites near Jevíčko town in was possible to gain a lot of knowledge on the issues of settlement of the Early Roman period. In addition to Roman imports, related to trade activities, a whole range of artifacts (especially militaria) can be associated with the movement of the Roman army deep in the Barbaricum or directly with the northernmost Roman temporary camp near Jevíčko. The Malá Haná region thus becomes an important research area for a detailed interpretation of Roman-Germanic interactions at the end of the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. and Příspěvek se věnuje problematice římských nálezů a nálezových souborů na Malé Hané v kontextu silného germánského osídlení, které mají nebo mohou mít vazby na období markomanských válek.
Na příkladu severního Třeboňska je taktéž diskutována možná koexistence lovecko-sběračských a zemědělských komunit. and The article expands the existing modest knowledge of the Neolithic occupation of south Bohemia. The core of the work is an analysis of assemblages from excavations of the Dehtáře and Radčice settlement areas and at the newly discovered site of Mažice conducted in the 2015 and 2016. Analyses of the pottery decoration
and radiocarbon dating confirmed occupation in the Šárka phase of the Linear Pottery culture. Simultaneously, the dominant use of chert of the Ortenburger Jura was proven in this period for the production of chipped stone tools. Analyses of basic categories of finds create a framework for the revision of the superregional contacts of the south Bohemian Neolithic population. The strong connection between south Bohemia and the eastern part of the Bavarian Danube Region and settlement in the vicinity of the Austrian city of Linz was recorded for the late phase of the Linear Pottery culture. Focusing the north Třeboň Basin region, the possible coexistence of hunter-gatherer and agricultural communities is also discussed.
Middle Neolithic, Early and Late Bronze Age (as well as some Middle Ages) human occupation was investigated during two separate excavations. This paper assesses findings obtained from features with artifacts from Linear Pottery Culture and the Želiezovce Group. Three graves containing human skeletons were also excavated. One adult skull possessed a wound most probably caused by a sharp object (a stone axe?). Within the pottery assemblage basic typological shapes prevail – globular and semi globular vessels, bowls and necked vessels. There is only a small number of footed bowls. The applied decoration scale shows basic decorative elements of carved and plastic decoration. When a cut was applied, it interrupted the carved line or finished it. Rarely, the inventory contained a painted band, made up by a carved twinline in red colour. Rare finds include polished industry, bone artefacts, as well as an incomplete anthropomorphic figurine. Lithic artefacts were common and were manufactured from local as well as imported raw materials., Ivan Cheben, Michal Cheben., and Obsahuje seznam literatury
This paper discusses the pottery finds from the 2003–2005 excavation of the settlement at Pellendorf/Gaweinstal in the central eastern area of the Weinviertel district in Lower Austria. The early medieval settlement was occupied from the 7th to the 10th centuries. The pottery finds from the 9th/10th century are characterised by shapes typical of the Mikulčice and Blučina pottery groups and of the March pottery in southern Moravia, and thus revealing intensive contact to the Great Moravian centres on the River March in that period. The paper also mentions further sites with the same pottery in northern Lower Austria, which, taken as a whole, indicate that in the 9th century the area was culturally, economically, and thus presumably also politically, closely connected to the Moravian Empire. and Výzkum sídlištní lokality Pellendorf/Gaweinstal ležící ve středu východní části oblasti Weinviertel (Dolní Rakousko) poskytl v letech 2003–2005 keramický materiál, který je diskutován v předložené studii. V celkovém pohledu tento nálezový inventář svědčí o úzkém kulturním, ekonomickém, a patrně i politickém propojení příslušných oblastí Dolního Rakouska s Velkou Moravou v 9. století.
A fragment of a vessel with a zoomorphic motif from the Břežany II site in central Bohemia is one of the rare representatives of figural images on La Tène pottery. A selection of roughly thirty cases from La Tène Europe of the 5th–1st century BC presents the development of this specific expression of La Tène art from regular decoration to spontaneous graffiti. and Fragment nádoby se zoomorfním motivem z Břežan II ve středních Čechách je jedním ze vzácných reprezentantů figurálních vyobrazení na laténské keramice. Výběr tří desítek případů z laténské Evropy 5.–1. stol. př. Kr. předvádí vývoj tohoto specifického projevu laténského umění od pravidelného dekoru po spontánní graffiti.
