Autor reaguje na publikaci archeologického výzkumu na tabulové hoře Úhošť z pera Zdeňka Smrže. Diskusí procházejí přírodní parametry, otázka opevnění a umělého pahorku. Příspěvek zařazuje Úhošť do kontextu dalších tabulových hor ve střední Evropě, které vydaly doklady svého využití od doby bronzové do středověku. and The author responds to the publication of an archaeological excavation conducted at the Úhošť mesa by Zdeněk Smrž. The article addresses the site’s natural parameters, the issue of fortifications and the man-made hilltop, and also places Úhošť in the context of other mesas in Central Europe that have produced evidence of their use from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages.
Ty zahrnují standardní rozbor aplikovaného pohřebního ritu a souvisejících nálezů, se zvýšenou pozorností věnovanou problematice chronologické uzavřenosti souboru, podepřenou dvěma radiouhlíkovými daty. Na pozadí prezentovaných analogií je v závěru nastíněna představa o původní podobě hrobky, včetně následných postdepozičních procesů s ní souvisejících. and The subject of the article is an inhumation Corded Ware culture grave with a unique stone lining investigated in northwest Bohemian Nezabylice in 2017. The work is based on a detailed description of the find situation accompanied by the following analyses. These include a standard analysis of the applied burial ritual and related finds, with heightened attention being paid to the issue of the chronological homogeneity of the assemblage supported by two radiocarbon dates. Also addressed is the position of the discussed unit in the context of grave construction practices of not only the bearers of the Bohemian Corded Ware culture but also similar central European groups. Against the background of presented parallels, the conclusion outlines an image of the original form of the tomb, including the subsequent related post-depositional processes.
Publikovaný soubor zároveň svědčí o dvojkolejnosti kulturního vývoje v Čechách v období středního eneolitu, dané paralelní existencí mladší KNP a badenské kultury od jejího staršího, bolerázského stupně až do nástupu klasického stupně. and The text deals with the topic of the final phase of the late (Salzmünder) phase of the Funnel Beaker culture in Bohemia, studied on the basis of the assemblage from the Brozany nad Ohří site, representative both in terms of type and quantity. The acquired material included pottery that may on one hand be unambiguously connected with the phase in question, but on the other hand, however, differs in some attributes from the existing assemblages representative of the phase. The presence of shapes typical for the classic phase of the Baden culture, new pottery types and actual absence of the typical “Salzmünder” incised decoration enable its classification into the very end of the Funnel Beaker culture in Bohemia. The published assemblage also attests to the continued double-track nature of the cultural evolution at the outset of the Bohemian middle Eneolithic, characteristic by the simultaneous existence of the incoming Baden culture and the outgoing Funnel Beaker culture also during the classic phase of the Baden culture.
Spodní čtyři vrstvy byly navršeny lidem knovízské kultury v Ha A, horní dvě v novověku. and Covering an area of 85 ha, the Mt. Úhošť tableland (cadastral territory of
Úhošťany, Chomutov district) situated at the northeast edge of the Doupov Mountains has been known as an archaeological site since 1836. Despite the considerable height (80–140 m) of the top plateau above the surrounding terrain and an overall elevation of 495–563 m, the location is fertile thanks to the basalt base and a permanent source of water. The site was occupied intermittently from the Neolithic until the year 1954, when a village first documented in 1401 was abandoned. An excavation on the hilltop of Mt. Úhošť at an elevation of 562.3 revealed that the original terrain with a gradient of 12° was levelled with layers of soil and stone to form an area 65 × 55 m in size, offering a commanding view of the Úhošť plateau and the surrounding territory, including visual contact with two contemporary hillforts. The lower four layers were formed by bearers of the Knovíz culture in Ha A, the upper two in the Early Modern period.
